It's never a boring day in the Premier League as a practical joke backfired horribly today at Stoke City.
US midfielder Brek Shea posted an image on social media of a bloody pig's head that had been placed in the locker of Stoke striker Kenwyne Jones. The Trinidad and Tobago international didn't see the funny side of the joke, and then in retaliation threw a brick through Glenn Whelan's car window.
It's definitely the end of term at the Britannia Stadium. Following the pasting Michael Owen's Merc received, Stoke's squad have now allegedly turned to leaving dead animals in each other's lockers. Kenwyne Jones reportedly went to his locker today only to find a pig's head inside. The finger of suspcion imeediately pointed to Republic of [.
What with his retiring at the end of the season, the Stoke lads organised a little 'going away' present for Michael Owen before yesterday's game against Tottenham coating his Merc in a rich, thick batter of eggs and flour...
According to the man himself, Dean Whitehead, Glenn Whelan and Robert Huth are the main suspects.

Stoke City will host Premier League leaders Manchester United on Sunday at the Britannia Stadium in what should be a tough encounter for both sides involved. Stoke City are up against it with a powerful Red Devils side who will likely look to finish their 2012/13 campaign on a high note.
After an unimaginably poor performance at the weekend, including two own goals and a missed penalty, Stoke striker Jonathan Walters managed to score two again last night. Luckily this time they were in the right end! The Potters hitman made amends from his Chelsea disaster to help book his side a home tie against Premier [.

Irish striker Jonathan Walters had the mother of all nightmare games on Saturday, with the Stoke striker managing to bag a brace of own-goals as well as missing a late penalty kick.
Stoke City striker Kenwyne Jones has publicly called out his teammates for the lack of chances among the Potters' front line, and has defended his 16 month Premier League goalless streak. The monstrous striker insists that his goal drought was due mainly to a lack of playing time in the league, and pointed a finger at the lack of opportunities he gets in front of goal at the Britannia.
Tomorrow Kansas City plays their second international friendly of the season when they take on
English Premier League side Stoke City at Livestrong Sporting Park. Stoke so far is 1-1 on this
tour of the United States, they opened the tour with a loss to the Columbus Crew 2-1 and defeated
Orlando City 1-0.
Fantastic result for Stoke City last night as a Kenwyne Jones' header ensured Stoke drew with
Dynamo Kiev and progressed to the next stage of the Europa League for the first time in their
history. If Stoke get a point at Besiktas in their last game they will finish atop their group.
"It's a great achievement to qualify from a group that I felt was the toughest of the 12 out
there" said Tony Pulis.
Despite spending a fair amount of money on his Sunderland team, Steve Bruce has endured a rather
rubbish start to the season. However, at home to Stoke on Sunday, the Black Cats finally marked
their territory by weeing all over the Potters.
Not famed for his goalscoring ability, Titus Bramble opened the scoring while summer signings
Craig Gardner and Seb Larsson also helped to give the Black Cats their first win of the new
season.
Stoke have launched an internal investigation after a prank gone wrong prompted striker Kenwyne Jones to reportedly throw a brick through teammate Glen Whelan's windshield after finding a pig's head in his locker. This comes just days after the Stoke boys dumped eggs and flour all over Michael Owen's car.
Stoke are a team that don't score mant goals but that won't stop us from selecting Peter Crouch as our Funny Feeling Friday this weekend. Crouch has not scored in the league since September and despite scoring 10 league ... Continue reading →
Boyhood Everton fan Jon Walters proved to be the scourge of Liverpool for the second successive season at the Britannia Stadium as the Reds' woeful run in the Potteries continued. Walters scored either side of Kenwyne Jones' header after the visitors had taken the lead through a Steven Gerrard penalty awarded in the first minute.
Brendan Rodgers reflected on Liverpool's 3-1 defeat against Stoke at the Britannia Stadium and reiterated calls for his side to be more consistent in their play. The Reds took the lead after two minutes against Tony Pulis's side on Wednesday night; however, Jonathan Walters equalized before Kenwyne Jones added a second and Walters made it 3-1.
Lets take a look at Liverpool's Carling Cup run leading up to Sunday's Final. No one will be
able to say Liverpool have had an easy run into the finals after being drawn away in every round up
to the semi-finals. While knocking out heavy weights Chelsea and Manchester City on the way.
Second Round: Exeter vs Liverpool -Â 24/08/11
Liverpool went about their business early on in the Carling Cup by fielding a strong lineup in
their opening game.
Yesterday we broke down Liverpool's winning goal, and while the focus may have been on Glen
Johnson's run from deep and his fantastic finishing of it, the team effort involved in the buildup
was plain to see. It might be fair to say that most goals, if you dig deep enough, are team
efforts, though often that effort can either be fairly self-evident or, conversely, hopelessly
muddied.

The Liverpool team saw a lot of changes from the eleven that started against Norwich but the likes
of Reina, Carragher and Suarez still made the start.

A second-half double from a fizzing Luis Suarez was enough to see Liverpool into the
quarter-finals of the Carling Cup at the Britannia last night, after Kenwyne Jones had put Stoke
one up a minute before half-time with a neat near-post diving header.
Stoke boss Tony Pulis bemoaned decisions which went against his side after the Potters lost to
Liverpool in the Carling Cup.
Jamie Carragher was booked after a challenge on Matthew Etherington on 21 minutes before Jon
Walters had the ball in the net with a header from a Rory Delap throw-in but Ryan Shawcross was
adjudged to have impeded Jose Reina and the goal did not count.

After the first half it seemed as though it was going to be the same old story for Liverpool:
Possession, passing, at times slick play, and an inability to finish. Throw in a Kenwyne Jones goal
a minute before the break after sloppy defending led to Stoke's first and only chance of the half,
a hostile venue, and another referee who seemed determined not to call anything on Luis Suarez, and
it had the makings of a hugely frustrating day for the visitors.
Liverpool progress into the Carlin Cup Quarter Finals after Luis Suarez scored 2 goals in a come
from behind win.
Kenwyne Jones put Stoke ahead in the 43th minute with a great header.
Luis Suarez then went on to win the game scoring in the 53rd and 85th minute. His first goal was
some thing special and can be seen in the video bellow.
Liverpool are through to the League Cup Quarter-Finals after beating Stoke 2-1 at the Britannia
Stadium.
Kenny Dalglish has Luiz Suarez to thank after his side went in one-nil down at half time due to a
Kenwyne Jones headed goal on 44 mins.
This was despite Liverpool having shots saved by Sorensen from Andy Carroll, Martin Kelly and
Suarez who was a problem for Stoke all evening.
Liverpool defender Coates fails to deal with a long ball as Jonathan Walters takes advantage and
picks out Kenwyne Jones with a superb cross to give Stoke the lead against the run of play.

Liverpool take the latest step in their Carling Cup campaign tonight when they face the tough
challenge of defeating Stoke at the Britannia Stadium. Having already faced two away trips in the
competition, first against Exeter, then Brighton, the Reds make the much shorter journey to Stoke
in hope of their first win on the Potters' territory since they were promoted to the Premier
League.
Clive Brunskill/Getty Images (Bleacher Report) Rory Delap has been a thorn in the side of multiple
EPL clubs over the past seasons. It is well documented how much Arsene Wenger despises the player's
long throw ability.
However, Liverpool have the fortunate advantage of making a trip to the Britannia Stadium this
weekend without having to come up against the Potters' not-so-secret weapon.
Michael Regan/Getty Images(Bleacher Report) Liverpool new boy Stewart Downing has been quoted
recently by the Daily Mirror as having tipped his new club for a strong top four push as the Reds
aim to return to UEFA Champions League football next season.
The £20 million wide man has so far enjoyed a great start with the club as they sit in third place
on seven points after the first month of action in the Barclays Premier League.
This season has started ridiculously well and you start to wonder whether it's too good to be
true. Five wins in five, despite being presented with a tricky start fixture wise, is a great
achievement for the team.
After the standard of our football getting increasingly worse over the past couple of seasons,
dragging ourselves through away games and putting ourselves in difficult situations on the road,
we're blowing teams away this season.
After the drudgery of the international break, the Premier League returns this weekend and
Liverpool face a tough test of their new side with a trip to Stoke. Having taken 7 points from
their first 3 games, the new-look Reds have turned heads already this season, and a win at the
Britannia Stadium would only reinforce their return as a team to be reckoned with.

It's not just the families of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott who are planning to give
Poland and the Ukraine a wide berth this summer: the England squad's wives and girlfriends are no
more keen on Kiev, warm on Warsaw or devoted to Donetsk.
These wins aren't to be underestimated. Stoke are a handful and we rarely thrive against them,
but today, despite withstanding a lot of second half pressure, Fulham stood firm and deserved their
points.
New players are traditionally given a time to adjust when signing for a new club, but today
Pavel Pogrebnyak was thrown straight into the deep end.

Keon Daniel's 20th minute goal helped Trinidad and Tobago beat Barbados in the second round of
2014 World Cup qualifying. Daniel made his first start for the country in qualifying, after
impressing in 54 minutes of Trinidad's 1-0 win over Bermuda last week.
Playing all 90 minutes, Daniel was a thorn in Barbados' side all game, pumping threatening
corners into the box and on multiple occasions nearly combining with star striker Kenwyne Jones
around the 18.
Trinidad and Tobago plays Barbados today at 4 pm and Keon Daniel may make his first start for
the country as a member of the Philadelphia Union.
Daniel and Trinidad pulled out a close 1-0 win over Bermuda on a Kenwyne Jones goal in the 44th
minute. Tobago was expected to pull well away from Barbados, but those expectations were not
met.
A second-half brace from Luis Suarez sent Liverpool through to the quarter-finals of the Carling
Cup with a 2-1 win over Stoke.
Both managers named strong teams, and a crowd of just short of 25,000 at the Britannia Stadium were
rewarded with a first half full of chances that ended with Kenwyne Jones heading in the opening
goal after Jon Walters had robbed Sebastian Coates.
