relegation to the Championship last month, several key players
have been linked with summer exits from the Riverside, including Downing.
According to The Shields Gazzette, Middlesbrough have no intentions of selling
winger Adam Johnson despite interest from Sunderland. Chief
executive Keith Lamb was quoted as saying,
"We have had no approach from Sunderland, nor would we welcome one .
According to the Tottenham Journal, Middlesbrough are willing to listen to
offers from Tottenham for midfielder Stewart Downing.
Middlesbrough chief executive Keith Lamb said,
"It wouldn't be the easiest negotiations from their point of view, but I would certainly
take their call.
UPDATE: According to Rob Stewart at Telegraph, Middlesbrough
have signed Colchester United winger Mark Yeates for an
undisclosed fee. The major question now is does this signing signal the departure of winger
Steven Downing?
