EPL Talk 08 March @ 06:25 PM EDT
And so it begins in earnest. After months of pressure being to filter through from fan groups,
the last few weeks have seen Manchester United fans begin to turn up the pressure on the Glazer
family. Do not be fooled by people giving this anti-American slant, this is not about such trivial
matters as nationality.

Football finance don and general cash geek Keith Harris is the man that the United fraternity have

When Brian Mawhinney was appointed as Chairman of the Football League in 2003, I'll admit to
groaning loudly. I was not a fan of the Conservative Party of the 1990s, and Mawhinney had been in
the British Cabinet and was Chairman of the Tories. What football needed was less free market
evangelism and some radical moves towards greater regulation; this didn't seem likely to come from
Mawhinney.

Anfield Talk 22 October @ 03:41 PM EDT
Keith Harris is regarded as the No.1 mover and shaker on football club takeovers, coming close last
year to pulling off a Middle East deal to buy Liverpool, so there can be few greater authorities on
the current crisis gripping Anfield.
The boss of high flying City firm Seymour Pierce spoke to ESPN Soccernet about the situation
gripping the giant Premier League club on the eve of their critical clash with Manchester United at
Anfield on Sunday.

The man favoured by Keith Harris of Seymour Pierce to complete the takeover of Newcastle is said
to be within days of finalising a deal. George Culkin, one of the most well respected football
journalists, has reported that one of the potential obstacles to the takeover going through, the
club's ongoing saga with former boss Kevin Keegan, will no longer stand in the way of Newcastle's
future.

The Telegraph is claiming that talks between the club and Barry Moat are scheduled and that a deal
could be agreed imminently. The key word in that sentence is 'could' though, so let's wait and see
how it actually turns out. The Telegraph's claims do seem at odds with Keith Harris's last
statement on matters, which [.

According to previous press reports, Newcastle United's £39m overdraft facility with Barclays Bank
ended on the 31st August and unless some other agreement was reached it was going to be renewed
with only a £10m limit, in line with Barclays' policy for Championship clubs. If reports that the
club owed £20m on that overdraft facility are [.

According to The Mirror, Alan Shearer is the fairest of them all. Or at least that will be the case
if the Sheard-fronted American bid is successful. The Mirror claims the consortium is close to

The Mirror claims that a new bidder is going to enter the race to buy Newcastle United before

It never rains but it pours. Just this past week alone Newcastle United have:
- Advertised the club for sale on their website with instructions to contact the club via
email
- Put the whole squad up for sale with nine players being pushed out the door first
- Still have not made a choice of manager with pre-season training now less than three weeks
away
Worryingly, Freddie Shepherd's name keeps on cropping up as being linked to one of the
consortium's interested in buying the club.

Newcastle United have confirmed that the now-Championship club is up for sale at a knock-down

It's no surprise that Mike Ashley wants to sell - he's been trying to wash his hands of the club
he loves for months, but has been unsuccessful.
It is said former Chairman, Freddy Shepherd, is among several interested parties - he'll
probably be welcomed back with open arms after the mere disastrous period that Ashley has presided
over.
