Ayew do you do guvnor?
After the entertaining, exciting, exuberant and down-right enthralling set of matches that the
2012 Africa Cup of Nations laid on for us in the group stages, surely it could only get better for
the last 8?
Barcelona's Copa del Rey semi-finals win against Real Madrid has been tempered by a growing
injury list that will make their clash against Villarreal on Saturday harder.
Andres Iniesta and Alexis Sanchez both limped off in last night's 2-2 draw, which secured a 4-3
aggregate win.
That means Barca will head to El Madrigal missing six players in total, as David Villa, Ibrahim
Afellay and Andreu Fontas are already injured, while Seydou Keita is at the African Nations
Cup.
Barcelona have set up a dream FIFA Club World Cup final against Santos by defeating Al-Sadd 4-0
today. The Barca victory though was dampered by the broken leg to striker David Villa, that will
keep the Barca striker out of action for around six months.
The Villa's injury aside, this was more like a training exercise for Barcelona as Al-Sadd is not
in the same class.

Barcelona eases past Saudi Arabian club Al Sadd as Adriano scores a brace in the first half
taking advantage of some shoddy defending. Seydou Keita and Maxwell rounded off the tally in the
second half.
Barca's entry into the finals was not without a price as David Villa broke his leg and could
face up to six months off the field making him a serious doubt for the Euro campaign.
FC Barcelona booked a place in the final of this year's World Club Championship final against
Santos courtesy of an easy 4-0 drubbing of Qatari Club Al Sadd. It was a mismatch from the
beginning and the only question was by what margin FC Barcelona will emerge victorious. But the
match didn't end up so well for us, with David Villa being substituted midway due to injury.

Barcelona have just whupped Al Sadd 4-0 in the second Club World Cup semi-final in Yokohama
(Adriano, Adriano, Keita and Maxwell if you're interested we'll try and track down some highlights
later), but the Japanese jolly has been soured somewhat by a nasty injury to David Villa, who split
his tibia in twain five minutes before half-time.

City are proving to be a strong contender for the Premier League title this season and one
player who has been instrumental in the Club's unbeaten run and fantastic form is Yaya Toure.
Toure who joined City last summer after a misunderstanding with his former club FC
Barcelona, has proved to be one of the club's most important signings with the 28 year old defensive
midfielder going on to become a key player in Mancini's line up.

Barcelona secured top spot in Champions League Group H with a thrilling 2-3 victory over AC
Milan in the San Siro.
A myriad of talking points dominated pre-game coverage, but only one threatened to mar the match
itself: Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Barcelona continued their impeccable home form this season, cruising to a comfortable 4-0
victory over bottom feeders Real Zaragoza.
With a critical group stage match against AC Milan looming on the horizon, Guardiola rested
regulars Abidal, Iniesta, Busquets and Villa.
FC Barcelona made shot work of the visiting Zaragoza side with a brilliant 4-0 victory at the
Camp Nou. With this win, Barca had briefly moved to the top of standing, equalising with Real
Madrid, who will be playing Valencia shortly. In a night after the international break, Pique,
Messi, Puyol, Villa all scored for Barca.

A 42nd minute thunderbolt from Andres Iniesta proved enough to see Barcelona past modest third
division rivals CE L'Hospitalet in the blaugrana's first Copa del Rey match of the season.
The game was moved up several weeks due to Barcelona's participation in the Club World Cup next
month.
THE FRIDAY CRACKOVIA CLUB
It's the first weekend of November, and Friday has come rollin'! Time for you to get a
dose of the best sketch comedy show in Barcelona...Crackovia! Pau
Escribano and his team of producers and actors have done it again this week, with
Pep Guardiola (seen above) getting annoyed at the trio of Puyol, Pique and
Fabregas (the 'moc moc' clan) for their Twitter addiction in the dressing
room.
Barcelona's barren draw at home against Sevilla on Saturday seems to be drawing more controversy
as the days gone on. Latest news now emerging is that midfielder Cesc Fabregas racially abused
Sevilla's Malian striker Freddy Kanoute.
Apparently this happened after the Catalans were awarded a penalty in the dying minutes of the
game.
Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has firmly denied accusations he racially abused Frederic
Kanoute during Saturday's 0-0 draw with Sevilla.
After Barcelona were awarded an injury-time penalty at the Camp Nou, Kanoute kicked the ball
away from the spot. The striker was then sent off when he lashed out at Fabregas, and a fracas
involving a number of players from both teams ensued.
FC Barcelona vs FC Viktoria Plzen
Busquets and Mascherano are likely to come back into the starting eleven against Viktoria in
today's Champions League match versus Vitkoria. Another European test for Pep's boys, who will see
the upcoming match against the Czech Gambrinus Liga champions as a chance to take a huge step to
the round of 16.
The cartoon featured today on Sport.es right expresses the anxiety we Barca fans have about
International breaks. It's not like we lost so much after International breaks, but there is no
denial that a number of our lackluster performance came following the break. But this time around
we shouldn't have such thoughts crossing our mind as the cartoon say "We got Andres Iniesta - The
Anti FIFA Virus Guys".

Blackburn Rovers take on Pune FC in a friendly at the Shiv Chatrapati Stadium in Pune making
that the first time that an EPL team plays a friendly in India.
Never mind if Blackburn are 19th in the standings. It's still a big game for football fans in
India.
Local heroes Pune FC will be without two key players - goalkeeper Subrata Paul and Guinean striker
Mandjou Keita.
Bate player, Filippe described this Barca team as made of outer space creatures and definitely
Barcelona produced a display to honour that compliment. FC Barcelona won their first match of this
year's Champions League season with a 5-0 result at the Dynamo stadium. This is our first away
victory in all official matches till now.
Visiting Anoeta stadium is becoming a head-ache for Guardiola. Last season we ended losing well
after we secured the title, this season it was an improvement with a 2-2 draw. By doing this
Guardiola has continued the glorified tradition of dropping point of the second league match, last
time we lost to Hercules.
I don't want to turn this blog into Barcelona blog, however, we are witnessing one of the greatest
teams in the history of football, if not the best of all of them, and I don't think I am
exaggerating.
We should not make big deal of a 5-0 victory vs. Villarreal, Real Madrid just won 6-0 vs.
Following yesternight's demolition of Villareal more and more people are vying for the much
coveted 3-4-3 fomation to be used at Barca. Already everyone is going gaga over the fact that we
played almost 9 midfielde players and one defender in the starting line-up. A look into the line-up
which started explains why people are so thrilled - Busquest, Mascherano who played in defense are
natural defensive midfield players.
FC Barcelona started their La Liga title defense with a 5-0 thumping of fellow Champions League
colleague, Villareal. Thiago opened the scoring for Barca and Cesc, Messi with two, Sanchez all
completed the Manita list. It was important for us to start well in the league not only to warn our
La Liga rivals but also the Continental rivals like Manchester United etc.
FC Barcelona won the 2011 UEFA Super Cup by defeating Europa Cup Winner, FC Porto 2-0 at the
St.Louis stadium in Monaco. Goals from Messi and another from Cesc Fabregas sealed a record 11th
Trophy for Guardiola as a coach. FC Porto really made life difficult for Barca with their high
pressure.
FC Barcelona won the 46th edition of the annual pre-season friendly Joan Gamper tournament at
Camp Nou with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Napoli. With this victory Barca has won the trophy which
is named after the founder of the club for the 35th time. For Guardiola it's not a bad trophy to
win, as the last two times he won the same, he went on to win the Champion League as a coach.
The first leg of the Spanish Super Cup of this season ended with a thoroughly entertaining 2-2
draw at the Santiago Bernebeu stadium in Madrid. Realm madrid fans would have been wondering how on
earth they failed to save the match, may be how on earth we scored two goals. I haven't seen a
Barca side in near memory being so overly dominated especially in the midfield.
FC Barcelona will be playing their first competitive match of the 2011-12 season at Santiago
Bernebeu stadium tomorrow night. The Spanish Super cup in contrast to their Premier League rivals
is a two legged affair and we do have the advantage of playing teh second leg at home. Real Madrid
and Barcelona had kind of a contrasting pre-season tour.
After a very hard and prolonged courting FC barcelona looks to have finally managed to land
themselves their most priced catch for some season - Cesc fabregas. Nothing has been official as I
write this post, but the rumours are emerging pretty fats and strong. Both Puyol and Pique has
expressed their delight over the conclusion of their deal in their respective twitter accounts,
Valdes almost gave away the news in the press conference, yes definitely there is a change in the
mood at everyone associated with Barca.
It's not that usual to wake up in the morning and read a scoreline where FC Barcelona is at the
end of a 4-1 mauling. This was definitely one of those day, hope it's the last. The funny part was
that I woke up ealry and watched Villa's goal live but couldn't hold my head still and went back to
sleeping.
Xabi,
Casillas y
FC Barcelona won their first pre-season final of this season with a 2-0 victory against Bayern
Munich at the Allianz Arena, the same gorund where this season's Champions League final will take
place. This cup doesn't count much but the fact taht we triumphed with a very inexperienecd and
young side talks higly of our production unit named, La Masia.
FC Barcelona won their second pre-season game of the season in penalty shoot-out after it ended
2-2 in full time. There were plenty of changes in both half and that saw us playing in different
rhythm in different half. Starting Eleven for the first half had Valdes, Busquets, Maxwell, Fontas,
Riverola, thiago, keita, Iniesta, cuenca, Soriano and Afellay.
FC Barcelona opened their 2011 pre-season with a rather entertaining goalless draw against
Croatian side Hajduk Split. As expected Guardiola started with two different side in each half. The
first half saw majority of Barca B players start along with the likes of Keita, Afellay and
Villa.
The midfields of both Real Madrid and Barcelona are beginning to resemble Japanese trains at
rush hour. If Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola continue to pack more and more players in, it is
likely they will struggle to keep each one happy and in form. Something has to give. So who will
survive the cull, and who will earn starting midfield berths in 2011-12?
Queens of the Stone Age playing Long Slow Goodbye
There are signs that football's longest soap opera may finally be coming to a close. Arsenal has
signaled its intention to negotiate after Barca indicated they're willing to improve on their
previous bid for Cesc Fabregas. Sandro Rosell sent out a statement that the Gunners are looking at
a figure in the region of £35m.
The newly crowned Spanish La Liga Champion were held to a goal less draw by relegation
threatened Deportivo La Coruna at the Camp Nou. That one point could be very crucial for
Deportivo's hopes of surviving in the league. This incidently was the first goal less draw of Barca
in the league this season.
