From Missouri Southern Lions Missouri Southern's head soccer coach Alese Woolard announced the
signing of six freshmen today that will join the team next season.
"Adding this group of talented players to the roster makes us very eager to start the 2012
season. I believe their positive attitudes and work ethics will mesh well with those of our
returners, and I expect to remain very competitive in the MIAA.

Drury Panthers 2
KY Wesleyan Panthers 0
A pair of first half goals were enough for Drury to get past the visiting Panther's today. The
game-winner was scored by Alyssa Alcorn (video below) in the 21st minute when she headed Hilary
Cockrell's corner kick just over the goalkeeper for her first goal of the season.
Katie Pritchard with AD Josh Scott, parents Keith and Barb Pritchard and sister Molly
Katie Pritchard, class of 2008, was recognized at Slaughter Field Tuesday evening for her high
school soccer accomplishments. The special recognition took place between the JV and Varsity WHS
soccer matches with opposing teams from Joplin High School.

Parkview Vikings 2
Camdenton Lakers 1
Camdenton's Ashleigh Paschel opened the scoring, placing a shot into the left side-netting about 10
minutes into the first half. Parkview tied the game about five minutes later, with Shelby Stewart
sprinting onto an Anna Withers through ball and touching the ball past the Camdenton keeper then
sliding in her shot from a wide angle.
The News-Leader has chosen Waynesville's Katie Pritchard as their female athlete of the
year.
Led by its own No. 10 with a ponytail Stiles' jersey number and trademark at MSU success didn't
come easy for Waynesville or Pritchard. But Pritchard's facial expression rarely changed,
regardless of the circumstances.

Katie Pritchard, Waynesville Tigers from oleolson on Vimeo
Unless we catch her on an amateur team over at Lake Country, or kicking it around on the Drury
Campus, Katie Pritchard's last soccer match was with her Waynesville Tiger's teammates Tuesday in
the loss to Lebanon. The video above is following the Catholic game Tuesday May 6th and the audio
is affected by the wind.
Final week of the regular season and you know what that means, eh folks. That's right...
Waynesville visits Catholic on Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 pm.
The Varsity play first and we'll have a chance to see the two teams that have beaten Kickapoo and
Glendale this season.

Glendale Falcons - 6
West Plains Zizzers - 0
The game was moved to JFK Stadium on Tuesday and once the Falcon's adjusted to the roll of the ball
on the artificial surface, it was off to the races. The overarching feeling I come away with after
Glendale games is the sense of overall team speed.
Central Bulldogs - 4 (OT)
Hillcrest Hornets - 3
Central beat Hillcrest in overtime. It was tied three three and went to PK's at the Neosho
tournament.
Rogers (AR) - 2 (OT)
Glendale Falcons - 1
The Falcon's conceded a goal in the first half on a very nice header.

Glendale Falcons - 1
The Falcon's conceded a goal in the first half on a very nice header. Senior Lou Opfer knotted the
score late in the second half. Due to the visitors early afternoon game against Kickapoo tomorrow,
the game went to PK's.
Update - I got my answer to the question of whether anyone was playing today.
Springfield Catholic - 2
Lebanon Yellowjackets - 0
The Lady Irish traveled to Lebanon to take on the Class 2 District 11 Finalists from last year.
Missouri State signee Tara Bailes (pictured in last years Class 1 Quarterfinal loss to St Dominics)
got both goals, the first coming in the 10th minute on a nice combination with Anna DeLong.
There are a few girls who haven't begun soccer practice yet in the region. One of them is Tasha
Lord who helped seal the Lady Tigers most recent win with her two free throws in the final second
of the game.
Along with teammates Katie Pritchard, Erica Combs and Orielle Thomas, she's focused on the
Quarterfinal game against Columbia Rock Bridge.

Several members of the Springfield Soccer community have been recognized for their efforts
outside of soccer recently and I wanted to point to them.
Rick and Sheila Temple have six children. Kyler will graduate from Kickapoo this May and
continue his career with Drury. His younger brother Konnor is playing at Glendale (2011).

Here's a story we don't hear often enough in this age of increasing specialization. Rolla High
School senior, Kaitlin Bramel, just signed with Fontbonne University in St. Louis to play soccer
AND basketball beginning in the Fall of 2008.
Kaitlin has been a force in both sports all four years and unlike her close friend Katie
Pritchard, she wanted to continue playing both sports in college.
