US AIK 11 September @ 12:17 PM EST
The twenty-second round of Allsvenskan is finally upon us after a two-week long break. The top two
teams AIK and IFK Göteborg face tricky away games, which could open up the field for Elfsborg. But
don't expect any big moves in the top of Allsvenskan as you can be sure that things will remain
extremely close even after play is completed in this round.

The European Transfer window as officially closed with many deals being made on the final day,
Tuesday September 1, 2009. There were no huge moves by any of the large clubs but many clubs tried
to solidify their rosters. Most of the moves are loans, a few were free, some undisclosed, and a

US AIK 13 August @ 08:00 AM EST
With the nineteenth round upon us we're likely to see some shuffling both in the top and the bottom
of Allsvenskan. IFK Göteborg and Helsingborg will enter an extremely important head to head game
that is set to jumble the top five. All top five teams seem to have an equal shot at the gold at
this point and regardless of the results in this round no team should fall out of contention.

Now video compilations can easily fool the trained eye into thinking a player is top drawer due
to some clever editing and slow motion replays conducted to a nice backbeat can do likewise, but I
tell you what, the goals and all round play from 21 year old Swedish International Rasmus Elm, are
a joy to watch.

In a perfect world, a Swedish Cup fixture against a Superettan side like Mjällby would provide AIK
with an easy victory by a three goal margin. Reality is unfortunately a bit more complicated and
the Swedish Cup quarter-final on Wednesday promises to provide quite a challenge for our beloved
AIK.
Superettan teams have performed well against Allsvenskan sides so far in the Cup.

In a brief moment of clarity I once wrote that I will avoid making predictions because doing so
will eventually offer proof that I have no idea of what I'm talking about. While I was smart enough
to figure that much out on my own, I am unfortunately dumb enough to ignore my own advice.
The following entry will present my predictions for the fall season in Allsvenskan.

Life in the Swedish Allsvenskan began for 2009 as Kalmar FF
embarked on the focal objective of defending their title crown, despite an initial drawback as they
stranded a one-goal advantage to draw with Gefle IF.
After accomplishing their first championship in 2008, Kalmer travelled northwards to the city of
Gävle in pursuit of their title protection and Rasmus Elm, whose brother Victor and last season's
top goalscorer Patrik Ingelsten both departed for SC Heerenveen over the winter
months, ensured the season started to almost perfection by successfully converting a penalty on 29
minutes.

We last checked in with the famous Elm brothers who until recently all played together at Kalmar FF
in November of 2008.
The youngest, 20-year-old midfielder Rasmus Elm, made his first senior appearance with the Swedish
national team last evening against the USA in Los Angeles.
He played composed and was not overwhelmed by the more seasoned American players when he entered in
the second-half.

attacking football.

It is a rarity for two brothers to play together on the same team in a give sport. Even more of a
rarity is when you have three brothers playing on the same team. Such is the case with Kalmar FF of
the Swedish Allsvenskan who thus far are the league's early leaders through five matches.
Victor, David, and Rasmus Elm along with their teammates currently hold a three point edge in the
league but their grip on first will certainly be in jeopardy this weekend as they take on
third-place side Hammarby IF.
