Xabi Alonso has risked angering the Liverpool fans who used to idolise him by claiming that
Fernando Torres 'deserves' to play in Spain.
Alonso left Merseyside for Real Madrid in a £30million move this summer after telling Rafa Benitez
that he wanted to join the Bernabeu revolution.

Luca Toni's toque was no match for Bordeaux last night. Image via Getty
Wow. Last night's Champions League group action was more exciting than an Hermes sample
sale.
In case you missed it, here's what we observed:
- Frank Lampard's increasing use of thigh-covering under-armour is becoming a serious
concern.

Real Madrid came into this game knowing that they were yet to beat Milan in their own backyard, and
that is how the record stayed, as the sides finished the game level-pegging. Having lost to late
goals in the Santiago Bernabeu in the last fixture of this competition, the Spanish club started
strongly to right the [.

Manchester United and Chelsea came from behind on Tuesday evening as they booked their places in

Kaka made his glorious return to his old home for Tuesday's Champions League tie between
Real Madrid and AC Milan a loser-free lovefest that ended in a 1-1 draw. The San Siro gave their
returning hero a warm welcome as both sides had their chances to take three points in the wide open
match.

What a great show the tifosi put on last night! Perhaps they couldn't
all contain their whistles when Ricky got hold of the ball, but they certainly
showed their cuori che sono grandi (big hearts) nevertheless. On the pitch, it's safe to
say that Los Blancos played strikingly better than the first leg, even without the sadly
missed Greaseano.

AC Milan's 3-2 win in Madrid on Matchday 3 lifted them to the top of Group C and a repeat
success on home soil would take them a step closer to the first knockout round. The Matchday 3
win was a big morale boost for Milan while Madrid slumped. Madrid put a three-game winless run
behind them with victory over Getafe CF on Saturday but face a tough task in overturning Milan at
home.

They're such an adorable family so it makes us sad to learn that Ronaldo has
filed a lawsuit against his former wife (and probably the best one she was a futebolista
after all), Milene Domingues. The suit alleges that his oldest son,
Ronald has been 'inadequately taken care of' under her and
Ronaldo is also demanding a review of the custody.

In a Copa Del Rey match, Jerzy Dudek was the goalie under siege as Francisco Borja scored the
first goal, a under pressure Alvaro Arbeloa scored an own goal, Ernesto Gomez tapped in a third,
and Borja completed Madrid's woebegone display with his second goal and Alcorcon's fourth.
Pellegrini rested Kaka and his place was taken by Guti.

Without Cristiano Ronaldo, the Merengues lacked creativity and an attacking spark.
Karim Benzema and Kaka both had an unmemorable outing. It was the supporting cast of Granero,
Marcelo and Raul that provided the threat and in the second half Royston Drenthe had his
moments.
Pellegrini turned defensive with Lass and Alonso creating redundancy in the holding midfielder
positions, with Alonso a bit more adventurous.
