As bromances go, we can't say we expected this. But ya know what? It might just be mad enough to

It's past 5 o'clock somewhere, Kickettes.
Consider that an explanation for our poor spelling, lack of coherence and just about anything
else that's horribly wrong after the jump.
If the 2011-12 Premiership season in England has seen the issue of racism finally get the serious
attention it deserves - with superstars such as John Terry and Luis Suárez either already punished
for or charged with having made racist comments - the same cannot necessarily be said of
discrimination toward the gay community.
There has long been a strand of anti-intellectualism within football which can occasionally be
somewhat distasteful, to say the least. It's the culture that saw Graeme Le Saux labelled as "gay"
because he read a broadsheet newspaper and collected antiques. It's a culture that keeps
professional footballers in a state in artificial infantilism until the end of their careers in the
misguided belief that this will engender some sort of "team spirit".

In a recent interview, German national team captain Philip Lahm said that "An openly gay
footballer would be exposed to abusive elements. For someone who does [come out], it would be very
difficult."
Sadly, it is hard to argue with Lahm's conclusion, though it should be noted that there is now
an openly gay footballer Anton Hysén, son of former Liverpool player Glenn Hysén (who coaches
Anton's fourth division Swedish team, Utsiktens BK).

We all have different memories, but when it comes to memories of the best goals ever scored in
English top flight football, do most of us recall the same goals or not? And are these goals part
of all of our conscious memories because we rate them so highly or because we've seen the goals
replayed over and over again on any highlights package?
