Liverpool travel to Bolton on Saturday evening well aware anything less than three points at the
Reebok Stadium will cast serious doubts over their already flagging top-four ambitions.
A seventh Premier League draw of the season at Anfield in last weekend's dire stalemate against
Stoke has left the 18-time champions of England five points adrift of fourth place.
Fulham has won four English Premier League games this season, and each time Clint Dempsey has
scored. Dempsey added to his American career record with his 38th EPL goal and an assist for Fulham
in its 2-0 win over Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.
Paul Kennedy of Soccer America reports on the American record-setting goal scorer.

Swansea City 3-1 Bolton Wanderers Premier League 29th October 2011
Time must be running out for Bolton boss Owen Coyle after his side slipped to their eighth
league defeat in the last nine games. Swansea, on the other hand, are revelling in their maiden
Premier League season, and remain unbeaten at home.
Robin Van Persie scored twice as Arsenal overran 10-man Bolton 3-0 to complete a one-sided
Premier League win at the Emirates Stadium.
The home captain set Arsenal on the road to three much-needed points when he dribbled past Fabrice
Muamba to thump the ball beyond Bolton goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen from eight yards out on 47
minutes.
Bolton come to Villa Park for the 3rd round of the Carling Cup, Alex McLeish has fielded a very
strong side and Owen Coyle is able to hand Stuart Holden his first appearance since his knee injury
at the tail end of last season.

Home to Premier League newcomers Norwich may have been thought as an easy three-pointer
for Bolton, but such results should not be taken for granted.
Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam scored their first Liverpool goals as the Reds crushed Bolton to
move top of the Barclays Premier League tonight.
The summer signings struck either side of a powerful Martin Skrtel header as the hosts, inspired by
the outstanding Luis Suarez, produced an electrifying performance at Anfield.
Reo-Coker not putting a foot wrong
The preseason started and ended with a murmur. Just like the 1-0 loss to FC Tampa Bay right at
the beginning, Bolton lost 1-0 to Levante UD at the Reebok. An uninteresting game that saw the only
goal come from Iborra after he tapped in a Ruben free kick that banged off the crossbar.
Perhaps he doesn't like pink?
I will not pretend to know the complications of football contracts. There is a lot of pleasing
to be done for multiple parties, and striking that balance must be difficult. That said, the
whispers that Jussi's contract talks are not going well are worrying. I think it will be time for
him to move on (or retire) quite soon, but the fact is that right now we don't have reliable back
up for him.
Yes, out of the 30 photos from training in Orlando, I chose this one.
It's no secret that this hasn't been exactly the most exciting summer for the Bolton Wanderers,
and any news is at least vaguely interesting. I mean, I read an interview with the kitman earlier
today. I know exactly how many ankle socks they brought to America.
With the news that Ali Al Habsi has packed up and moved to the pie factory next door comes a bit
of encouragement to most Bolton Wanderers fans. It's being widely reported that long time Wanderers
servants Ricardo Gardner and Jussi Jaaskelainen have agreed extended deals at the Reebok. Neither
are exactly fresh in terms of age but are willing to prove that they still have what it takes.

Lots of talk around the Premier League of players moving, players staying, and Big Sam geting
the old band back together on this day that the 2011/2012 fixtures are released. We've got a bit of
all of this in today's news update.
One of Allardyce's transfer targets after securing the signatures of Kevin Nolan and Abdoulaye Faye
for his West Ham reunion tour was our own Ricardo Gardner who has been nothing but a loyal servant
to Bolton Wanderers FC.
This season started so brightly with this Bolton side surprising everyone with beautiful play in
the midfield and strikers that could actually score. Not so much anymore with the Wanderers
claiming just 6 points of their possible last 18 and recording 4 straight losses. There's lots to
be analyzed about this campaign but that will be left for another day and another series of blog
posts.
With the longest active losing streak in the Premier League at three games, Bolton have the
potential to end their last five matches of the year with absolutely zero points to show for it.
Blackpool need the full three points from a big win in order to have any shout of staying in the
top flight for another year.
What is it with this team? Are we only allowed a certain amount of happy in one season? Are we
being punished for enjoying ourselves earlier in the year? It would appear so, as we just watched
our team fall to our third consecutive defeat in a fairly mediocre match. The most irritating thing
is that it seems like we just don't know how to play anymore.
I should preface this with the fact that I love Jussi Jaaskelainen. Even in the games in which
Bolton was the moving manifestation of mediocrity under Megson, Jussi was solid. He's been with us
for 14 years, and is one appearance shy of 500. The man is a legend. But, as much as I wish it were
true, he's not ageless.
What a match! Even from a neutral's perspective, this was an exciting one. While neither team
showed much on the defending side of things, the fast paced attacks coming from both ends made it
difficult to blink. To me matches like this are better than watching Barcelona completely outclass
some poor team.
We're going streaking! Well, not really. Damn. This match at Newcastle is full of streaks,
however. After that awful mid-season slump, Bolton have won 4 of 5 in all competitions and are
unbeaten in 5 of 6. All of those matches without a loss were accompanied by a clean sheet courtesy
of Jussi Jaaskelainen in the Premier League and Adam Bogdan in the FA Cup.
Wigan away. What an unsavory meat pie of a fixture. This match, no matter when or where, is
hardly ever an exciting prospect. Still, to advance to the 5th round of the FA Cup, it has to be
played. The home result was a very predictable 0-0 back on January 29 meaning that the trip away
was winner-take-all.
Winless in five of their last six Premier League matches, the Wanderers would look to turn
fortunes around at the Reebok. Bolton would try to make an impact on what was already an emotional
night following the death of the greatest Wanderer ever, Nat Lofthouse.
Bolton came out of the gates firing on all cylinders, keeping the ball in the Chelsea half for the
entirety of the first three minutes.
