It is hard to see England overcome Brazil even if they were at full strength with Steven
Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, and Glen Johnson given how the Brazilians moved
with ease around the pitch. Meanwhile, the English attack was barely able to make a dent.
Fabio Capello probably knows by now that Brazil is the team to beat.

With the World Cup in sight, most of this weekend's attention will be towards the remaining
qualifiers, but there are a few high-profile friendlies on tap today that might be just as
exciting.
England-Brazil is one of those matches, as the Three Lions will took to topple Brazil for the
first time since 1990, a stretch of seven games that includes a 2-1 loss in the quarterfinals
of the 2002Â World Cup.

Just a wild mess of 'em today:
- Despite Roma rift, Baptista is staying.
- Van der Vaart considering his options.
- Crew to dump Robbie Rogers?
- Xavi dying to get Cesc at Barca.
- Exiting Madrid: Guti?
- Yaya: I might move, not to City.

Fairly good week for goals, as only one game finished 0-0 (Catania-Napoli, but ask Takayuki
Morimoto about that). The top scorer table is still wide open, as Di Natale started strong but now
has cooled off so he remains at 9, while Hamsik is second with 7 and that's impressive for a
midfielder.

With much of the qualification process almost complete and South Africa 2010 looming large, it
would make sense to assess some of the world's best custodians who will be present during the World
Cup. Goalkeepers such as Petr Cech will be excluded from the discussion since their nation failed
to qualify for next summer's big event.

Sunday action in the Turkcell Super League contained a champions' derby between Galatasaray against
Trabzonspor. It would also feature a potential extension to the best start in league history, as
Fenerbahçe would look to make it nine wins in a row. With the Fenerbahçe-Galatasaray derby coming
up next Sunday, both teams looked to gain momentum for not only for their showdown, and also for

There's nothing that can be demanded from Dunga and his players.
The team was already qualified, which turned the match against Bolivia into a open lab in the
skies. The skies of La Paz took the reserve side of Brazil closer to hell than heaven. The 3600
meters above sea level suffocated the players.

The USA Men's National Team defeated Honduras last night in CONCACAF qualifying 3-2, to cap off a
thrilling second half of end-to-end football that saw both five goals scored as the Americans "made
the cut" for their 6th straight World Cup.
This was a crazy match, surrounded by upheaval before it even began, as Honduras is suffering
through an internal political crisis that added extra angst to the proceedings along with the fact
that (bizarrely) US soccer fans were left with no way to watch the game on TV.

Big Story
There was something for pretty much everyone yesterday, an all-day footballing extravaganza that
began with Germany overcoming her many doubters by beating Hiddink's tactically astute Russia in
the Luzhniki Stadium, and ended with the United States overcoming a lethargic start and a
forty-seventh minute goal by beating Honduras 3-2 in front of a hostile crowd of forty thousand at
the Estadio Olimpico Metropolitano.

international goals in the second half. Landon Donovan's 21-yard free kick in the 71st minute, his
42nd international goal, turned out to be USA's winning goal.

Driving past the Washington Monument and the White House on the way home tonight, one thing stood
out -- the USA often fares well as an underdog.
And make no mistake, the USA was not a big favorite to win in Honduras and clinch a World Cup
berth.
Not in a country desperately seeking an escape from political chaos.

It appears Alex Ferguson has given up hope of Ben Foster becoming United's number one as reports
suggest Julio Cesar is a potential transfer target for the club.
The Brazilian international, aged 30, joined Inter in 2005 and is now regarded as one of the
best goalkeepers in the world. With Van der Sar turning 40 this month it was hoped either Ben
Foster or Tomasz Kuszczak would take the reigns but after failing to impress, it looks like
Ferguson will look elsewhere in an attempt to replace the veteran Dutchman.

Anytime you give a WAG the platform to say stuff, it's a dangerous proposition. They are a wily

Perhaps this is why Julio Cesar's wife (and former girlfriend of Fat Ronaldo) Susana Werner
decided to play the part of amateur contract negotiator and post the following on her blog:
"It's a week of great emotions.

Manchester United have been recently looking at Inter Milan goalkeeper Julio Cesar as an option.
