Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers could be turning his attention to Germany in the bid to add some
strength to his squad after he was linked with Schalke pair Lewis Holtby and Julian Draxler.
Rodgers has admitted that he is working hard to bring new faces to the club and it seems the two
German internationals could be the players that he wants to sign in the coming weeks.
The Philadelphia Union take on FC Schalke 04 in an international
friendly tonight at 7:30 p.m. The two sides will take to the field at PPL Park in a game that will
supposedly be the last for Raul, a legend with Real Madrid and former Spanish international, with
the German club.
The Brotherly Game talked to Phillip Quinn, SB Nation's Bundesliga
expert, about Schalke ahead of the game.
No doubt many of you whippersnappers were/are out on this Friday night tripping the light
fantastic, or at least having a drink or two down your local park/boozer/gastro-pub. However, over
at the Westfalenstadion, Bundesliga sides Dortmund and Stuttgart were playing out a truly classic
4-4 draw.

Borussia Dortmund continued their incredible unbeaten Bundesliga run since September but were
held to a 4-4 draw by the visiting Stuttgart at Signa Iduna Park.
After a toughly contested opening half hour, Shinji Kagawa opened the scoring for the hosts and
Jacob Blaszczykowski doubled their advantage four minutes after the interval.

Things might be awful for the Inter Milan seniors, but we see plenty of room for optimism in the
U19s.
Namely Samuele Longo, seen here celebrating a penalty win for his side in the NextGen Series
Final vs. Ajax U19. Despite sporting the unnervingly smooth skin of a 19-year-old, he's actually

TORONTO -- Julian and Jonathan de Guzman are polarizing figures -– two of
Canada's most gifted players who continue to pull Canadian supporters in opposite directions.
Following CONCACAF's second round of World Cup qualifying, Julian acknowledged that his brother,
Jonathan, who is currently under contract with Spanish side Villarreal, was looking to take steps
to become eligible for selection by head coach Stephen Hart and the Canadian national team.
The Boston Breakers claimed their franchise-best third straight victory to start the season in
Wednesday's 2-1 win over the New York Fury at Hofstra University in Long Island, N.Y.
Tameka Butt (10′) and Katie Schoepfer (19′) each scored first half tallies while Merritt
Mathias (66′) scored the lone Fury goal.
Eren Derdiyok scored a hat trick to lead Switzerland to an impressive 5-3 win over Germany in a
friendly on Saturday, May 26, 2012.
Germany were the favorites heading into the match but are really focused on the upcoming Euro
2012. Switzerland failed to qualify for the tournament and instead preparing for 2014 World Cup
Qualifying which starts in the fall.

these Dutchy dolls in diapers will end up having a better week, but we want to remind all our

Don't shoot the Messenger. I know just how you feel Julian. The mutterings have started, but 'He
That Is Without Sin Among You, Let Him cast the first Stone'. The Bible is such a comfort in
times of stress and frustration. So go on then get casting, not me obviously, sinless at my age? If
only.
That is the word that springs to mind this morning as I look over the Arsenal news feeds and
take on board all the stuff that went on yesterday regarding Yann M'Vila. Such was the ferocity
with which the news was embraced that it makes you wonder if people really can't bear to think
about what lies ahead at the end of this week.
Over the weekend, Spurs manager Harry Redknapp insisted that Spurs will spend big in the summer
in a bid to take the club to the next level and hopefully cement a regular place in the Champions
League slots at the very least.
"Everything is in place for the club to keep progressing now, we've got a new training ground
coming, but when it comes down to it, you can have all the facilities in the world, but you have to
keep investing in players," Redknapp said.
