"La recuperación será larga". La frase del médico del club, Jose Veiga, le
duele a los hinchas de Boca. Juan Román Riquelme se resintió de la lesión en su pie derecho que
lo tuvo a maltraer en la primera mitad del año y, con seguridad, un mes afuera de los
concentrados.
En Olé confirman que la lesión lo tendrÃa alejado del equipo hasta el 2010, ya que la
recuperación demandarÃa 3 meses.

The latest instalment of Buenos Aires' Superclasico did little to give fans of River Plate or
Boca Juniors hope of an quick upturn in fortunes for either ofArgentina's traditional footballing
superpowers.
The 1-1 draw was played out with the trademark tenacity and tempo the fixture demands but a
point a piece does nobody any favours.

Cesc Fabregas' name has been synonymous with Arsenal in recent years. He is undoubtedly their
biggest star and the most dynamic player that they have. His ability to see a gap and to pick out a
team mate is now bordering on legendary status. Couple this with his new-found confidence in front
of goal and you are looking at a player that even Arsene Wenger will find hard to replace.

Football fans all over the world were very excited to see legendary Diego Armando
Maradona get appointed as Argentina national coach but immediately doubts were

Three points is three points. Its a win. And that's what counts. Till we start parsing. The US
was able to evade a spirited El Salvador side on the strength of its set pieces. The problem is,
the US still has to figure out when to play smart possession football. The Salvadorians till the
last minute had a chance to pull of a draw.

It wasn't supposed to be like this. When Diego Maradona took the reins of Argentina, the former
star was supposed to re-energize a World Cup qualifying campaign that had taken some hits. With
four games in CONMEBOL qualifying left, and hardly the easiest schedule, could Argentina fail to
qualify for the World Cup?

Since we are approaching the end of a decade, and since it's summer,I thought I would offer up
my La Liga Team of the decade. I set my team based on the best actual season had by a player in
each position. It is not an aggregative list. It is not based on contributions over the course of a

Over the weekend, Cristiano Ronaldo, confidently stated that Spain's top flight, La Liga, was a
better league than the English Premier League. He specifically cited the current influx of top
class stars to La Liga as his evidence. (Given Ronaldo's ego he was probably referring to
himself..... and, at a push, Kaka) However, does Real Madrid's single handed recruitment drive
improve the quality of La Liga or, simply, Madrid themselves?

River Plate's El Monumental has been Argentina's World Cup venue
Diego Maradona continues his divisive ways.
He was said to have complained about the state of the Mounmental stadium describing it as "a
pasture" before the Colombia match. The topic cropped up again after the loss to Ecuador, when
Maradona expressed his unhappiness about the stadium being the venue for the match against
Brazil.

After having successfully answered the questions about whether he was better than Ronaldo or not
the next big challenge for Messi is to make sure that Argentina qualify for the World Cup.
If Argentina fail to beat Colombia on Saturday they risk missing out on the World Cup
altogether.
Maradona has made a few changes in the squad - Estudiantes captain Veron returns to the side to
replace Juan Roman Riquelme.
