Jürgen Klinsmann trying too hard to Europeanize U.S. team - originally posted on
Soccerlens.com
Thursday was the five-month anniversary of Jürgen Klinsmann's appointment as head coach of the
United States men's national team. In that short time, he has presided over seven games and has a
paltry 2-1-4 record.
A month by month look back at the year that was for Toronto FC and why last season's upheaval is
finally starting to show dividends.

USA international striker Juan Agudelo was left in awe after his trial experience with
Liverpool.
The 19-year-old New York Red Bulls striker already has 15-caps to his name for Jürgen Klinsmann's
national team, but got his first taste of European football during brief spells with Stuttgart and
the Reds in recent weeks.
Just why are so many managers in football unemployed and out of work at the moment. Could be that
the financial crisis is effecting managers too? Or is it simply because they are bidding their
time, before going back into the big time job. This article is going to look at all these reasons
and [...

von „provoziertem Augenkrebs", gemeint ist damit aber ganz klar die modische [.
I ask in this post season look back of the season that was for Toronto FC, what might have been if
MLSE had not wasted most of "the hundred days" between firing Mo Johnston and hiring Aron

Jürgen Klinsmann's winless streak as USA Men's National Soccer team manager continued into his
third match in charge when his team feel 1-0 to Belgium in an international friendly in Brussels on
Tuesday. The loss follows a 1-1 tie with Mexico and a 1-0 loss to Costa Rica in the USA's previous
two matches under [.

This week US Soccer fans saw something new. They saw a team in the red, white and blue attempt
to possess the ball, pass the ball, and play out of trouble. They saw players chosen on the hope
(if not much prior proof) that they can play a fluid, attack minded game of soccer.
They saw glaring imperfections, certainly.

Jurgen Klinsmann opens U.S. career in entertaining fashion - originally posted on

On Wednesday night, the U.S. National Team ushered in the Jurgen Klinsmann era with a 1-1 tie
against Mexico in Philadelphia. The new U.S. coach spent most of the evening with a smile on his
face, and although the first half of his debut was less than promising, the second half provided
plenty of reason to be optimistic.
A look at Jürgen Klinsmann's selection list for the USA friendly match vs Mexico reveals a high
level of turnover from the squad that faced Mexico in the Gold Cup final. Some of the changes were
forced by injury (Zach Loyd), others by the start of the European domestic season (Clint Dempsey)
or by players' unsettled situations at their clubs (Michael Bradley).

Tomorrow Jurgen Klinsmann will debut as the US Men's National Team Head Coach in another
installment of the US – Mexico rivalry. This is the first game for the Americans since the Gold
Cup final in June where they blew a 2-0 lead against Mexico to lose 4-2. With both teams' rosters
containing a good chunk of the players used for the Gold Cup, the result will be used to compare if
the coaching change was a good move or not.

In many way the US friendly against Mexico next Wednesday, August 10, at Lincoln Financial Field
in Philadelphia, PA., is nothing more than that: a friendly that gives US Soccer the opportunity to
collect some needed revenue for the coiffures of the federation after a costly lost World Cup
bid.

I've held off on making comment about the dismissal of Bob Bradley and the selection of Jürgen
Klinsmann to the head of the US national team until today's introduction to the media in New York
City. I wanted to hear from Gulati, but more so from Klinsmann, about the reasons for this change
and the overarching vision for the US national programs in the coming years.
Klinsmann in, Bradley out as US National Coach - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
In a coup d'état so swift it could represent the final guillotine strike in a pepole's
revolution, Bob Bradley has been replaced as manager of the United States Mens' Soccer team by
(It was either that or "Deutsch Treat." Did I choose wisely?)
I've written before about Jürgen Klinsmann's reputation outstripping his
actual resume, but the time for all that talk is over now that Klinsmann is, officially, the 35th
head man in the history of the US National Team.
CHICAGO (July 29, 2011) — U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati named Jürgen Klinsmann as head
coach of the U.S. Men's National Team today, making him the 35th coach in the history of the
program.
"We are excited to have Jürgen as the head coach of our Men's National Team," said Gulati.

Today the United States Soccer Federation announced that it had parted ways (fired) US Men's
National Team Coach Bob Bradley. The Era of Bob Bradley began after the 2006 World Cup finals in
Germany where the US failed to get out of their group. The poor showing in Germany resulted in
Bruce Arena being fired and Bob Bradley being named interim coach, and then, in 2007, being named
coach.

*In what is largely a cosmetic move from a title standpoint, Chivas USA has named Nick Theslof
technical director.
Theslof joined the Chivas USA coaching staff when Martin Vasquez became head coach last year
after both had served on Jürgen Klinsmann's staff at Bayern Munich.
From the Chivas USA press release:
In his first season at Chivas USA, Theslof worked with the first team in scouting and
performance evaluation, as well as coaching skills and technique, and will continue those roles in
2011 while also adding oversight and evaluation of player development, especially at the youth
level.
Our second round of USMNT Celebrity Death Matches continues today! Round one was a real
bloodbath...
For those of you wondering why our series has omitted the most obvious of Death Matches, Mexico;
there's a whole post of its own coming down because we've got so much material.
"Tom, this panda is delicious! You can taste the powdered pickle!"Us Yorkies have been tough on the Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment brass in regards to their
stewardship of Toronto FC - and rightfully so! Seriously... they bought the team, Dichio scored a
goal... pretty much downhill from there.
Well, 3 out of 4 ain't bad!
When MLSE VP Tom Anselmi opened today's important press conference with an admission that the
club had been "going in the wrong direction" it was hard not to point the finger squarely at the
man himself. For four years under Anselmi and MLSE's direction, TFC was allowed to flounder, mostly
at the hands of Mo Johnston, and on this site as in many other places, the ownership was rightfully
criticized.
Aron Winter. Get used to hearing that name. By all reports out of Toronto and Amsterdam this
gentleman, currently an Assistant Coach with famous Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam, is about to be
appointed Technical Director of Toronto FC. There will be a presser later this week sources tell me
when he, along with Paul Mariner and Ajax youth academy coach Bob de Klerk, will be announces as
the new Triumvirate in charge.
