We don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves, but Saturday seemed like a positive one in
Steve Zakuani's journey back from his leg injury.
Here's what the official practice report had to say about his performance: "Perhaps the best
highlight came in the final minute as Steve Zakuani, who played the full 40 minutes, flew down the
left side with blazing speed.
Good morning and welcome to that most exciting of days. Tuesday.
Sorry, I mean Transfer Deadline Day. The day when all kinds of deals go down. Players are traded
like cattle, Premier League slave ships buffet about in the choppy waters scouring for a bargain
here or cast-off there, oh, the fun we'll have.
Any Deltras fans out there remember a Kenyan striker called Hilary Echesa? Had a short, very short,
spell with the club a couple of years back and managed to impress no one. Admittedly a poor Deltras
team that season, no fan who made the journey to Lebak Bulus to see them play Persitara (pictured)
could have imagined they would now have the likes of Budi Sudarsono, Mijo Dadic and Sean Rooney in
their team.
So with Real Madrid and Barcelona scheduled to meet tomorrow at the Bernabeu for their first
leg Copa Del Rey quarterfinal fixture, attention is already starting to get centred around the
Messi Ronaldo debate.
Truth be said, although the debate is starting to get boring, it will be interesting to see how
Ronaldo responds to his critics and the world player of the year.
Before we played Tottenham last we were unbeaten after two wins and one draw in the league and
there were high hopes for a very good season in and around Wolverhampton. Not only for the points,
but because we played well and looked sharp. After that game the journey down began. For the
Tottenham faithful [.

It's not often that you get detained under the Terrorism Act following the Arsenal. Well, when I
say not often it's probably leaning to never. Except yesterday after the Manchester City defeat.
There I was minding my own business as I tried to exit the arrivals hall after my flight from
Manchester to Southampton.

Interesting viewing. Talks about how the grass is always greener, which is undoubtedly true.
Jol does look a bit defensive here (as is natural I suppose) but is a fairly eloquent speaker and
gives decent answers to the questions put to him.
Got, Not Got: The Great Esso Football Badge Scandal of 1971
Never mind Watergate, or the oil industry draining dry developing countries dry of their oil for
tuppence, or Leeds United getting cheated out of the European Cup what we're talking about here is
real scandal, 1970s style.
After much humming and haaing Jakarta FC, who like everyone to call them Persija, in the Indonesia
Premier League, will play their first home game of the season in the Wilis Stadium in Madiun, East
Java. Which is bloody miles away from Jakarta, their supposed home town. Apparently their was no
stadium available for them to use.
It only seems like yesterday since that fateful day back in June of last year when
England's World Cup journey came to a shuddering halt against a young, fast-paced, powerful German
team that showed English fans everything that our team wasn't. Well, here we are only 16 months or
so later, with the first stages of Euro2012 already under our belt following the draw in Poland for
the Group matches, and frankly, nothing much has changed.
Why the road to redemption is now 9,337 miles long for Fabio Capello
The road to redemption for Fabio Capello and England is now the long road. A series of flights
into the outer reaches of eastern Europe. A journey of 5113 miles including the flight from London
just to get out of the group stage, and possibly visiting three different cities to play the six
matches needed to lift the Henri Delaunay trophy.
It's difficult not to dwell on last years tremendous journey through the stages of the competition

Taylor Twellman has had an incredible soccer journey. His scoring accolades served him well in

injury. Soccer fans are now finding him to be a real personality in the world of broadcasting.
Putting in time with the Philadelphia Union and finding roles with ESPN has shown the soccer world
something that is often lost in broadcasting: a candid, educated approach that brings honesty to

Antigua and Barbuda are an unlikely opponent for the USA in next year's Semifinal Round of World
Cup qualifying. But the nation of just 80,000 earned their spot in the group that also includes
Guatemala and Jamaica. They capped their progression from the second round of qualifying with a
famous 1-0 win against Haiti, the heavy group favorites.
Chelsea's veteran striker, Didier Drogba, looked set to end his journey with Manchester City
sometime soon as the striker rejected the one year extension that was being offered to the
33-years-old attacker.
Drogba's refusal in signing the extension with Chelsea was revealed by the player's agent,
Thierno Seydi, who believes that minimum contract length isn't something that his client seek in
the twilight of the striker's career.

In Where The Wild Things Are, Max is transported to a far and distant land where... the wild
things are... and initially looks to be in some danger. But Max is no mug and uses his guile to
win the wild things over, specifically by staring them down and showing he's not afraid. Then they
respect him and, more importantly, effectively allow him to take them over.

As you may or may not know, I am currently taking part in "Movember" this month to raise awareness
and money for Prostate and Testicular Cancer.
The challenge is to grow a "Tash" for the whole month, trim and style it and keep it until December
1st.
As you will all understand I am doing this because it's an important cause and we have to raise
awareness.
