This January's Arsenal transfer news was relatively quiet at the Emirates Stadium, with Thierry
Henry returning to the club on loan from New York Red Bulls and German teenager Thomas Eisfeld
arriving from Borussia Dortmund for a modest fee.
However, activity has not always been this sedate at Arsenal, with Arsene Wenger making some
surprising and at times, blockbuster signings in January.

Ooh, it's a little early for tongue, Nolan. What kind of girls do you think we are? Image: PHILIPPE

Nature abhors a vacuum, Kickettes. It isn't something we made up as a convenient opening remark
for a transfer update post, it's the truth.
Don't believe us? Last week, we told you that Ludovic Obraniak had left Lille for Bordeaux,
leaving a massive gap in their pretty player quotient.
WEEKEND WRAP!
It's the FA Cup weekend, so you'd be forgiven for finally creeping out from
under your blankets and rubbing your eyes... except it's another case of 'Back to the
Future' and Thierry Henry has returned for Arsenal!
Although you'd all like to believe this is one of monsieur Arsène's secret
master plans, his arrival is meant to support the loss of Fútbolitos
Gervinho and Chamakh Challo to the three-week long
African Nations Cup, which kicks off on January 21st!
It's been five years since the fleet footed winger arrived from Southampton on the promise of
energizing the wide areas of the pitch and fulfilling what a homesick Jose Antonio Reyes failed to
deliver. At 22 years of age, Walcott is now an exasperating muddle of intuition and speed spliced
with dollops of bad choices and lack of composure.
Atletico Madrid forward Jose Antonio Reyes has confirmed that he has asked coach Diego Simeone
to help transfer him to Sevilla
Simeone has just taken over the reins at Vicente Calderon and had previously spoken of his
desire to keep the former Arsenal player at the club. However, Reyes insists his mind is made up
and he is determined to return to the club where he started his career.
Turkish Club GALATASARAY attempted to sign ATLETICO DE MADRID player JOSE ANTONIO REYES at the
start of the season, but the player rejected the offer. Now with a head to head clash with Coach
Manzano, where the player is being punished for "inadequate behaviour ( insults at Coach)" with
prolonged sitting on the bench, Reyes is apparently open to ideas.

"Marhaban!" to Egypt, Atletico Madrid! That's right, just when you
thought the guys had enough of excursions to cola-making factories, Rojiblancos have done
it again with an epic expedition to the Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven
Wonders Of The World.
I was lost for feelings when Arsenal announced the signing of highly rated Southampton
youngster, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. This transfer had been in the news for a long time but not many
were expecting it to go through at this stage.
The youngster, Walcottesque in his style and a superb talent without doubt, will take time to
settle into the first team squad, so this must be one for the future.

Every club makes mistakes, some large ones too such as Juan Sebastian Veron, Andriy Shevchenko,
and Jose Antonio Reyes just to name a few. As Spurs fans we've also seen some large transfers go
wrong over the years. Names that spring to mind are Sergei Rebrov (£10m), Dean Richards (£8m) and
more recently David Bentley (£15m).

Good news for Atletico Madrid as they have turned down an offer from Turkish club Galatasaray
for Jose Antonio Reyes.
Galatasaray last week launched an offer for Atletico trio Reyes, Diego Forlan and Tomas
Ujfalusi, and on Monday completed the signing of Czech defender Ujfalusi. But winger Reyes will not
be following in his former team-mate's footsteps.
This one is definately a good one. In mean you won´t see a more impacting & more viciously viral
"Football Transfer Rumour" than this one for a long time. From Turkey, via its media (eg
NTVSPOR), Turkish Club GALATASARAY has come to an agreement with Spanish Football Club ATLETICO DE
MADRID to sign DIEGO FORLAN, UJFALUSI & ANTONIO REYES.
Morning all, happy Friday. First let's get this Puyol/Pique, picture of Cesc thing out of the
way.
Crude I know but it does the job. Plus I didn't have time to 'shop in Cristiano Ronaldo taking a
romantic walk with Shakira. Some may put it down to high-jinks, a pair of footballers having a bit
of a laugh, but given the way Arsenal have helped Barcelona this week, opening our training ground
and facilities to them, it showed a distinct lack of respect.
After ending Arsenal's unbeaten run earlier in the season, Manchester United went on to thrash
the Gunners 4-2 at Highbury. In the run up to the game, several of their players were talking to
the press about getting revenge for the result at Old Trafford.
"The problem in this game was that Arsenal had got carried away by the press in the run-up,
saying that we had bullied them at Old Trafford," he said.

When I sing the song "We're the boys in Red and White, and we're fucking dynamite", a number of
iconic players run through my mind. Rocky Rocastle, Anders Limpar, Marc Overmars, Freddy Ljungberg,
Robert Pires sprint through my inner thoughts, terrorising defences as they go.

Liverpool have announced that their record (for a couple of hours) £22.8 million signing Luis
Suarez has received international clearance and will be available to make his debut for the club in
tonight's Premier League tie with Stoke at Anfield.
Real Madrid's new loan signing Emmanuel Adebayor is hoping to make his Liga debut away to
Osasuna on Sunday while La Liga leaders Barcelona could have full back Dani Alves back in time for
the trip to Hercules on Saturday.
Alves is training again after recovering from a torn muscle while Barca captain Carles Puyol and
winger Jeffren are doubts for the match against the only team to have beaten them in the league
this season.
MADRID, Spain — Atletico Madrid beat Real Mallorca 3-0 on Monday to maintain their hunt for a
European place and ease the pressure on coach Quique Sanchez Flores. Recent poor form including a
4-1 thumping by Hercules put Sanchez Flores in the firing line and there were rumours that if they
lost to Mallorca and [.

Thursday's Copa del Rey match against Real [.
Manchester United legendary full-back Gary Neville is to call time on his playing days
at the Theatre of Dreams as he hangs up his boots at the end of the season...
According to Goal.com UK, Neville is convinced that he is no longer able to meet the
demands and rigors of life at the highest level, and will pull the curtain down on a trophy-laden
career come the summer.
Made-up rumors, nonexistent "inside sources," Wenger rolling his eyes at a steady stream of
bullcrap questions, unsettled players. It's your favorite time of year, and it's back. The January
transfer window is upon us.
Arsenal have not traditionally been great movers and shakers in the January window, although we
have brought in a fair few players midseason.
