After starting the season with their customary 4-3-3 formation, Wigan have now lined up in a
3-4-3 system ever since their 3-3 draw with Blackburn on November 19th. Roberto Martinez trialled
the system in a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa on October 1st, but then reverted back to his familiar
4-3-3 for their following game against Bolton.
Wigan Athletic 0-0 Liverpool: Reds slip up at the DW as Al Habsi stars
An action packed, end-to-end, game at The DW Stadium failed to provide any goals as Wigan
Athletic and Liverpool saw their game end in stalemate on Wednesday night. With the game just hours
away the Liverpool players issued a statement of support for teammate Luis Suarez, who had been
charged with racially abusing Manchester United full-back Patrice Evra, much to the bemusement of
those associated with the club.

Jordi Gomez claims Wigan will welcome Liverpool to the DW Stadium on Wednesday confident in their
ability to pull off another shock result.
The Latics impressed many observers on Saturday evening as they stunned Chelsea with a dramatic
late show on home soil.
Gomez's goal two minutes from the end of that contest saw Wigan take what could be a priceless
point from the title-chasing Blues.

Manchester City are back on track with as a 1-0 victory over Arsenal put the noisy neighbors

After excellent wins against Valencia in the Champions League and Manchester City in the Premier
League, Chelsea were brought back down to earth with a bump at the DW Stadium against a Wigan side
who fully deserved a share of the points.

Roberto Martinez and his Wigan side made it seven points from their last four Premier League
games after coming from behind to win at the Hawthorns on Saturday.
Arsenal's Premier League resurgence continued as a comfortable 4-0 victory over Wigan at the DW
Stadium saw them move into fifth place in the table.
Mikel Arteta, Thomas Vermaelen, Gervinhoand, inevitably, Robin van Persie all found
themselves on the scoresheet as the Gunners registered a sixth victory in their past seven league
games to draw level with Newcastle United.

Stadium. Four different players added goals to their statistics for the season and we're now up to
just one place behind fourth spot (until Liverpool's match against Fulham tonight at least).
Nothing seems to be going so right for Sunderland at the moment, The Mackems created several
chances before going down to a 1-2 loss in stoppage time from a miscommunication from the defender
and the keeper. Featured player Nicklas Bendtner is still finding his feet in his new club, on his
10th appearance, He had a relatively quiet game yesterday, but played a part in Sunderland's
first goal cutting back onto his right foot, before smashing a low effort that bounced up towards
Al-Habsi, who fumbled it and it fell to Swedish midfielder Sebastian Larsson who smashed it in from
close range.

Argentinian striker Franco Di Santo is enjoying his best spell so far in England, after
struggling at Chelsea and Blackburn. The hitman netted his fourth of the current season at the
