Wigan's perennial 'great escape' means they are accustomed to their current proximity to the relegation zone, but Roberto Martinez's side are on a particularly poor run. After starting the season with their customary 4-3-3 formation, Wigan have now lined up in a
3-4-3 system ever since their 3-3 draw with Blackburn on November 19th. Roberto Martinez trialled

Jordi Gomez claims Wigan will welcome Liverpool to the DW Stadium on Wednesday confident in their
ability to pull off another shock result.
The Latics impressed many observers on Saturday evening as they stunned Chelsea with a dramatic
late show on home soil.
Gomez's goal two minutes from the end of that contest saw Wigan take what could be a priceless
point from the title-chasing Blues.
Is this the worst hat ever? It might just be. This Wigan fans donned a festive hat, probably in
anticipation of a stuffing at the hands of Chelsea. But it wasn't to be as Jordi Gomez bagged a
late equaliser to secure a 1-1 draw for the Latics. Great news for Roberto Martinez, but not [...]
Some would call it robbery, a late Jordi Gomez goal denying Chelsea a fourth consecutive victory
on Saturday at the DW Stadium. However, robbery would imply that the visitors actually deserved to
win. That, my friends, was hardly the case.

After excellent wins against Valencia in the Champions League and Manchester City in the Premier
League, Chelsea were brought back down to earth with a bump at the DW Stadium against a Wigan side
who fully deserved a share of the points.
A pivotal trip to White Hart Lane is on the holiday horizon. Slow your roll, though. First, we
need to navigate this potentially tricky venture to Greater Manchester on Saturday.
Hey, it's Franco
On paper, away to Wigan doesn't appear to be too much trouble.

Roberto Martinez and his plucky side will be absolutely ebullient following their thrilling come-from-behind 3-2 victory against Reading over the weekend.
However, even despite Jordi Gomez's tremendous hat-trick, it takes a lot more than confidence to take down undefeated champions Manchester City.

Despite witnessing more than a fair share of bore draws, Week 13 of the Premier League season didn't fail to impress in terms of overall entertainment.

This was Arsenal's 10th defeat in the league this season. Another win chalked away by a lower
league side. This time at home where we've only lost twice all season, one to the team that is

to increase the gap between us and the other sides chasing the Champions League spots, we dropped
the ball.

December is here but Arsenal continued where they left off. Four goals victory at the DW
Stadium. Four different players added goals to their statistics for the season and we're now up to
just one place behind fourth spot (until Liverpool's match against Fulham tonight at least).
When we lost 2-1 against QPR a couple of weeks ago it was easy to throw around the C-word. No,
not the one that so wonderfully describes John Terry, but complacency. After last night's 2-1
defeat to Wigan it's C-word time again: this time, Consistency.
