Former Revolution first round pick Jordan McCrary, who was taken with the 10th overall selection in last year's draft, signed with Toronto FC II (USL) on Thursday.

McCrary, who was unable to crack the Revolution XI in league play during the 2016 season, was waived by the club after the 2016 season.

Shortly after he was assigned to the USL for a brief loan spell, Revolution rookie Jordan McCrary went 70 minutes for the Rochester Rhinos in their 1-0 loss to the Richmond Kickers at City Stadium in Richmond, Va.

McCrary started at right back for the Rhinos, and found himself in a precarious situation during the 53rd minute when he slipped on the ball inside his own end and watched Kickers midfielder Brian Ownby make a B-line for goal before Rhinos keeper Adam Grinnis came off his line to dismantle the threat.

Revolution rookie fullback Jordan McCrary was sent to the club's USL affiliate in Rochester on Saturday ahead of the Rhinos' contest against the Richmond Kickers on Sunday.

The Revolution's first-round pick in the 2016 draft will suit up for the USL side before rejoining the Revolution for training next week.

McCrary, 22, recorded five assists in 20 games for the Tar Heels in 2015, a season after suffering an ACL injury that sidelined him for the duration of the 2014 campaign.
