As you probably noticed, we've had some S365 machine ghosts to bust this weekend. That obviously
slowed me down, and thus, this is late. It's still videos of sweet goals, though...Let's begin with
some dude named Ricky at Real Madrid. Apparently, he doesn't mess around.Speaking of single moniker
Brazilians, it seems Corinthians have a goal-sniffin' fella name of.

The Seattle Sounders vs Houston Dynamo playoffs got the MLS playoffs to a raucous start with
their edge of the seat performances even it ended in a goalless draw. Seattle also boasts the
highest home attendances in the MLS. It all looks promising.
Except as this article points out, there is enough deadwood in the MLS.

Watch Jon Stewart skewer the senators who voted against the Franken Rape Amendment;
"I guess it's an efficiency thing. You don't want to waste tax-payer money giving it to someone who
advises fake prostitutes how to commit imaginary crimes (like ACORN), you want to give it to
Halliburton because they're committing real gang rape.

As I write I am listening to Jon Stewart's interview with Betsy McCaughey the promulgator of the
death panel drivel (although I believe Sarah Palin may actually deserve credit for the term). A
dangerous combination there. But watch the interview ... watch the caginess, the pandering to the
audience, the lack of substance.

I've been on a bit of an early Jayhawks kick over the past couple of days. Hearing Jeff Tweedy
sing Pecan Pie the other day reminded me that I got into Wilco and Uncle Tupelo through Tweedy's
involvement in Golden Smog, which I think was before the release of A.M. And I got into Golden Smog
because it also had Louris and Dan Murphy of Soul Asylum.

Last year, Tim tried valiantly to chronicle the downfall, but gave up a week in. He hadn't yet
even gotten to this one, but I don't know if any of them hold a candle to this one, Ode To A Koala
Bear.
Yes, you read that correctly. Ode To A Koala Bear. Proceed with caution.
What's even scarier is that this piece of crap is the B-side to his hit duet with Michael
Jackson, Say Say Say.

You're at a party and the discussion turns to world events. Some dude, usually wearing a Ralph
Lauren polo shirt and Sarah Palin glasses, says, "I get all my news from the BBC." It's his way of
saying, "I'm an intellectual and the American press is for idiots."
If that story sounds eerily familiar, it should.

While he may not boast the soccer resume of Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert is apparently a soccer
fan now. You can thank the U.S. national team's run through the Confederations Cup for making it
happen.

Three hour traffic jams? "Cocksuckers from Massapequa?" The conjoined twin of New Jersey? "No

One thing the Senator got wrong, though.

Okay so I do, I really do want to be rooting for Obama but what's with this latest appointment?
GE's defender on environmental issues, Ignacia Moreno, has been hired to do the legal stuff for
EPA? How did Obama explained this decision, I'm wondering. It kind of gives me a weird feeling in
my stomach.

So what's happening today?
First off, I see that Obama gave his commencement speech at Arizona State. What a strange
decision on their part, to not award him the degree and what a gracious response from POTUS!
Jon Stewart had an excellent piece on The Daily Show about ASU and their decision to diss the
president.

There comes a time in everyone's life who is either in college, doesn't have the money to pay for
multiple TV packages, or is just too damn lazy, that they want to watch some soccer online. Yes
this may mean that you have to watch a game in quality so low the ball disappears into the certain
parts of the grass and you have to guess where it is by where the pixilated players are perusing.

Regarding March Madness, our Men's bracket winner ... Mo ... has started off the trash talking
for next year with this prediction ..."Next year I will either go perfect in one of the brackets
or win both of them."
Alice, you will need to convey this to Mike when you see him. Meanwhile, I will begin plotting
my own comeback!

It didn't take long, did it? Two years after losing Congress and only five months after Bush
left office and it's in shambles. Yeah, and they called Al Gore a sore loser. I also think it's
cute that they've embraced identity politics at the same time that we're supposed to have moved
beyond that, but that's besides the point.

Larry David has said that nothing makes him laugh more than people getting up in his face and
calling him the vilest of names. With this clip, Jon Stewart has just beaten David at his own
game. So watch this twice, the first for the whole thing, and the second for Jon Stewart's
reactions, which even when he loses it bring the bit to a whole new realm of genius.

So the stimulus package has passed, as the sun rises on this beautiful Saturday morning. It
wouldn't have, without the help of Arlen Specter, Olympia Snow, and Susan Collins - courageous,
centrist Republicans in a sea of dissembling, disingenuous, faux bipartisan doofusses mouthing old
platitudes and marching in lockstep.
