FC Boro 27 October @ 03:10 PM EST

Boro made hard work of it, but made it through safely to the 1st round proper of the FA Cup after beating Chelmsford City at Melbourne Park. Graham Westley named a strong side, knowing that the Blue Square South side would be no pushovers. Eddie Odhiambo came back into the side on the left wing while Yemi Odubade once again partnered the in form Charlie Griffin upfront.

Chelmsford Preview

FC Boro 23 October @ 08:45 AM EST

Boro have a break from league action this Saturday as the FA Cup campaign starts against Chelmsford City. It was only a few months ago that Boro faced Chelmsford in a pre-season friendly where Charlie Griffin and Chris Beardsley both scored Boro won by 2-1.

Martin Released

FC Boro 20 May @ 05:40 PM EST

Boro confirmed today that midfielder John Martin has been released from his contract. It's a disappointing end to Martin's career after a fantastic start which saw him an integral part of the club's amazing start to the 2007/2008 season under Mark Stimson, particularly impressing alongside Stuart Lewis in the Boro midfield.

Easter Round Up

FC Boro 13 April @ 03:52 PM EST

Sorry for the lack of updates over the Easter period, but I've been very busy. I hope you all had a great easter. In football terms, it couldn't of got much better on the pitch. After bouncing back last Tuesday with a win over rivals Cambridge, Graham Westley's side have gone back to where they were before the defeat at Kidderminster.

FC Boro 08 April @ 04:32 PM EST

Stevenage's hopes of reaching the play-offs are still alive after a 2-1 win over local rivals Cambridge United at Broadhall Way. A fantastic performance with 10 men gave Graham Westley's side victory in a frantic encounter. The evening was made even better as fellow play-off contenders Kidderminster could only draw 2-2 against Forest Green, narrowing the gap between 5th & 6th.

The transfer merry-go-round at BHW

FC Boro 07 January @ 05:08 PM EST
There remains confusion over Daryl McMahon's future at the club. The official site claims that McMahon's switch to Cambridge is still on and that his knee, which was apparently the reason he failed his medical, has now been given the all clear and he should move to the U's on a free transfer soon. Mills v Martin

FC Boro 02 December @ 05:20 PM EST
John Martin was transfer listed last week as it seems Graham Westley prefers playing Gary Mills alongside either Michael Bostwick or Peter Vincenti in the Boro midfield. I thought it would be interesting to see how Boro perform when either Mills or Martin are selected. Below are their stats for the season so far. Click to continue reading...

McMahon & Martin told to leave

FC Boro 26 November @ 01:48 PM EST
Just when you think things couldn't get much worse at Broadhall Way, they did this afternoon when it was discovered that Graham Westley has made both Daryl McMahon and John Martin available for transfer. I guess that's the end of the attractive and entertaining football then, with the disposal of 2 of his best passers [. Click to continue reading...
