El 15 de Junio de 1974, en mi opinión y en la de muchos, cambió el futbol al presentarse la Selección de Holanda en la Copa del Mundo de Alemania 74. Rinus Michel presentó un esquema innovador y revolucionario que entre otros arrolló, hasta ese momento a los 3 grandes de Sudamérica, Uruguay, Argentina y Brasil, quienes no quedaron con ninguna duda de su inferioridad.

Galatasaray appointed Dutch technical director Frank Rijkaard as their new coach.
