I would hope that it wouldn't surprise any of our readership that I am not a Joey Barton fan. His
mock-philosophical guff makes me feel like vomiting, and the assumption that his opinions have more
validity than the rest of us just because he used to be violent and has now apparently reformed
makes my [.
Joey Barton's reaction to the FA's handling of the John Terry racial abuse case
A series of Tweets from Joey Barton on the John Terry racial abuse saga has England's Attorney
General breathing hard down his neck. Barton's tweets summed up:
"This John Terry saga, has turned into one of the most hideously managed spectacles I have
ever known.
As bromances go, we can't say we expected this. But ya know what? It might just be mad enough to
work... Image: REUTERS/Eddie Keogh.
It's past 5 o'clock somewhere, Kickettes.

else that's horribly wrong after the jump.

Le Toux talks
It just won't stop.
As suggested by the 130 readers' comments posted on PSP in less then 24 hours since the Le Toux
transfer news broke, if the sadness felt by Union fans at the news of Sebastien Le Toux's transfer
to Vancouver wasn't enough, subsequent comments from Peter Nowak and Le Toux will, for many, see
that sadness turn to anger.
It wasn't pretty. Hell, it was downright hideous. But it's a win, one that puts us in the
fifth-round draw. Hey, that's good enough for this guy.
A united front
I guess we should have expected this. All the hype, all the controversy it simply overstated
what was bound to be on display at Loftus Road on Saturday.

Considering all the pre-match hype concerning Anton Ferdinand and John Terry's long-awaited
reacquaintance, you would have thought that the game itself might have fizzled a bit more. However,
instead, it was a flat affair, with Juan Mata outstanding out for all the right reasons, and Daniel
Sturridge making a name for himself for all the wrong ones.
When pre-match handshakes become the subject of fervent debate and garner more analysis and
predictions than the actual football match that tends to follow them, something has gone wrong. So
in an attempt to help sidestep half the day's racial tensions, the FA decided that QPR and Chelsea
should just avoid hand shaking situations at all costs.
Football, thankfully, gets the attention today.

The magic of the FA Cup. The combined furor of two players and thus two clubs and two sets of
support groups embroiled in an alleged race row.
And, of course, handshake gate revisited.
Not again
Saturday's FA Cup fixture between visiting Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road is
brimmed with subplots.
Oh Niko. You tousled literary conundrum, you. Images via premierleague.com.
EPL footballers are currently involved in a scheme intended to improve literacy levels and
encourage people in the UK to read more books.
Please. It's not that funny.
It's actually pretty cool. Each EPL club nominates a player as their representative on the
scheme and that player then selects his favourite books (one children's book, one grown-up book)
and they are added to a list of recommendations.
HMP United With the current goings on surrounding Harry Redknapp allegedly in legal trouble for

Did you know that the name Joey Barton is an anagram of the word "Wanker"? I know, it took me a
while to figure it out as well. Anyway, I think its fair to say that I have long considered that
this odius character should have been banished from the footballing world and his latest actions
have done nothing to alter my opinion.
Former QPR manager Neil Warnock and current QPR thug Joey Barton are involved in an ongoing war of
words at the moment, with Barton yesterday labelling his former manager 'embarrassing'. Never one
to shy away from controversy, Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson has now stuck his oar in given his
view on the situation.
In this fixture last season Newcastle were beaten 1-0. That was the Wednesday evening following
Andy Carroll's transfer to Liverpool, and some of the players like Jose Enrique and Joey Barton as
two examples were not happy at all that Newcastle had just sold one of their best players. And
there were a [.

"Re-Tweet this son you're f****n' s**t"
Hell hath no fury than a spurned football manager, particularly if it's Neil Warnock. The ex-QPR
boss, who tends to divide opinion (people either strongly dislike him or hate him), has hit out at
the influence of critics and players on owner Tony Fernandes, claiming that his own reputation was
"slowly poisoned" by outside forces with Twitter playing a key role in his downfall.

Have you noticed that Joey Barton is expressing his musical preferences through head and facial
furniture lately ? The Morrissey fetish (and illustrative quiff) has been crushed beneath the
weight of his Beatles back catalogue, judging by this photo of him at the QPR FA Cup game this
week.
QPR skipper Joey Barton has expressed his disappointment at an unlikely cameo appearance in Paris
Hilton's Twitter photo. The pair shared a FHM cover, which "Model, Actress, Singer, Brand, Business
Woman, Fashion Designer, Author, Philanthropist" Hilton has chosen as her profile picture. But bad
boy Barton is not impressed.
I think it's fair to say that yesterday's win against QPR at Saint James' Park wasn't the prettiest
game to watch, though it was still a very welcome and grinding win. While the Toon faithful may not
like seeing such meagre fare, I feel it's a very satisfying way to collect three very important
points [.
Venue: St James' Park, Toon. Date: Sun 15th Jan 2011. Kick-Off: 1:30 pm. Referee: Chris Foy. Hello,
good afternoon and welcome to our regular "match banter" feature. This time the Magpies will be
facing the transitional Queen's Park Rangers under new manager, Mark Hughes, he of the slightly
annoying mid-sentence sharp intakes of breath.
Liverpool's failure to defeat Stoke at Anfield means that a Newcastle win against QPR on Sunday
would see the Geordies move up to sixth in the Premier League. How much has Kenny Dalglish spent?
How much have Newcastle spent? Oh yeah, and Liverpool have Stevie G. the world's greatest ever
midfield player (ahem).

We never thought we'd see Joey Barton successfully accessorising a mauve pram with matching shoes.
Anything is possible in this world, Kickettes. Image via twitter.
It's been a week of political posturing, professional problems and puffy faces at Kickette.
And that's just the staff.
Mark Hughes, the favourite for the QPR vacancy since Neil Warnock's sacking, has expectedly been
appointed as their new manager today. I think Hughes is a very good manager, he gets teams well
organised and disciplined, but I'm not convinced he'll be able to get the best out of players like
Joey Barton and Adel Taraabt.
Neil Warnock's sacking by QPR after a run of just two points from their last eight league
matches was not as much of a surprise as one would expect. Warnock had not only saved the club from
relegation after joining from Crystal Palace during the 2009-10 season but led Rangers to the
Championship title in his full season.

Mirror: Why Barton can't moan too much over red card
Fergie must buy big to keep Rooney happy Festive thrills mean we should never have a winter
break How daft that Joey Barton's red card hasn't been rescinded. The fact that Nenad Milijas of
Wolves didn't get let off after his unfair dismissal at Arsenal either just makes me more and more
concerned about the poor standard of refereeing this season.
No ifs or butts Barton's red card shows cheats DO prosper in the Premier
League
Let us be happy for Bradley Johnson. He is enjoying his moment in the sun. A few hours after the
Norwich midfielder got Joey Barton sent off at Loftus Road on Monday, he was hamming it up for the
cameras at the darts final.
Norwich midfielder Bradley Johnson has taunted Joey Barton after the QPR star was sent off during
Norwich's 2-1 win at Loftus Road on Saturday. Barton had given Queens Park Rangers an early lead
before being involved in a confrontation with Norwich midfielder Bradley Johnson. The spiky
Mancunian then appeared to headbutt Johnson and was swiftly [.
Joey Barton's recent red card against Norwich could easily be put down as Karma. Remember the
incident which seen Barton over reacting to a mere slap at the start of the season from Arsenal
striker Gervinho which seen the player red carded?

"I wonder what Wenger will blame this time?" Those were the words of a clearly delighted Fulham
fan to his mate on the bus to Clapham Junction after the late winner denied us at Craven Cottage
last night.
After all,it struck me that, despite Djourou's sending off we were, to use a Wenger word,
inefficient in front of goal in the first half and then went to sleep at the death when Zamora hit
the winner.

Chelsea moved back up to fourth place in the Premier League after picking up a 2-1 away victory
against Wolves, although it took an 89th-minute winner by Frank Lampard to end Chelsea's four-match
winless run.
Stephen Ward thought he had done enough to earn Wolves their fourth consecutive draw when he
cancelled out Ramires's second-half effort with just five minutes remaining, but Lampard pounced to
take the Blues a point above Arsenal, who failed to reclaim fourth spot after losing 2-1 at
Fulham.

Joey Barton reponded to his sending off today via twitter saying;
"Well feel for the officials, they've been conned. Admitted to me at HT they never saw it. I was
pulled back 1st, then kicked 2nd!."
"Linesman definitely never saw it, all he seen was Johnsons reaction. My head dosent move
forward at all.
Joey Barton was sent off today for an alleged head butt against Norwich and it appears it may have
been a rather harsh decision. Obviously it didn't take long for the learned Barton to vent his
spleen on Twitter: "Hopefully referee sees it retrospectively and sees he's been conned. Its no
consolation for us right now but at least its something.
