At least according to Craig Stouffer at the Washington Examiner: Midfielder Joe Vide, who was recently released by San Jose, is set to sign with D.C. United this afternoon, according to a source. Vide, who is slated to earn $33,000 this season, for the moment takes United's 18th and final open senior roster spot.

For the third time this season, United has picked an ex-Red Bull off the MLS scrap heap, adding midfielder Joe Vide to the roster. We've just announce the club has acquired midfielder Joe Vide. 24-year old Vide was acquired in today's waiver draft after the San Jose Earthquakes waived him on July 14. He was drafted out of the University of Virginia by the MetroStars in 2006. For the official news go to www.dcunited.com.
