The competition has been around since 1966.

Barcelona beat Napoli 5-0 to win their 36th (out of 46) Joan Gamper Trophy at the Camp Nou last night, a match that saw Cesc Fabregas notch his first goal in blaugrana after starting up front in Leo Messi's 'false 9′ position duly opening the scoring by nudging home Adriano's cross.

FC Barcelona have announced that the opponent for their annual Joan Gamper Trophy will be Italian side Napoli.

The match will be played on August 22 and will mark the first time that the Italian side has played in the Camp Nou.

This will be the 46th edition of the Gamper.
