di Kiev, in programma domenica, contro la vincente tra Spagna e Portogallo.
Spain plays tonight with a challenge thrown to them. They are joint favourites with Germany and
the nationalmannschaft throws down the gauntlet with a dominating display which sent
Greece home. The 2004 winners tried to compete but once the Germans clicked into gear, there was
ever only going to be one outcome.
1. Just call Joachim Loew 'Mr Muscle'. That's how easily he removed Greece from Euro 2012. 2.
Greece gave it a good go in the second-half, but in the end the Germans were 4-2 strong for them.
3. The Greeks briefly wiped out their deficit, but Germany came back with considerable interest. 4.

Germany may have emerged from the Euro 2012 Group of Death unscathed, but the Germans may be
overlooking their quarterfinal match just a bit with a lineup that looks like it's geared toward
resting some players for an eventual semifinal match against England or Italy.

The buildup for this match has been overshadowed by the current economic crisis in Greece, and
with the Greeks turning to no other then Germany for help for a bailout package, you have to wonder
what effect it will have on the game in hand.

Arsenal's summer signing Lukas Podolski believes that he has already made his impression on
manager Arsene Wenger and insists that he is not distracted by the latter's coverage of the
tournament for French television.
Podolski has somewhat struggled to make an impact offensively in Germany's two opening matches
but as noted by teammate Per Mertesacker, his defensive involvement has been impressive.
Germany manager Joachim Loew has dismissed press and public negativity as his German side
prepare for their eagerly awaited encounter with the Netherlands in Group B of Euro 2012.
Sweden's Sebastien Larsson says he is happy to play in any position at this month's Euro 2012
tournament.
The Scandinavian outfit's group-stage campaign kicks off on Monday when they face co-hosts
Ukraine.
On paper, the Swedes have the edge on their Eastern European opponents but, with a big crowd behind
then, Ukraine will fancy their chances of staging an upset.
The toughest group in the European Championships just got even more interesting after the team
considered the weakest in Group B pulled off a stunning upset that has shaken up the
tournament.
Denmark shocked the Netherlands on Sunday, playing excellent defense and benefiting from sloppy
attacking play from the Dutch to post a 1-0 victory.
When the draw for Euro 2012 was conducted, there was no denying which group was the dreaded
Group of Death: Group B. With star-studded contenders Germany, Netherlands and Portugal and a very
capable Denmark side vying for two places in the knockout round, every Group B match will have a
must-see component to it.
Given his history, track record and vision, Manolo Preciado seemed like the perfect man to be
tasked with getting relegated Villarreal back to Spain's top flight. After a tragic event
overnight, though, Preciado will never get that chance.
Preciado, a beloved long-time Spanish coach and player, died suddenly of a heart attack, a day
before he was set to be introduced as Villarreal's next coach.

Group B Netherlands
Two years ago, the Dutch came mighty close to becoming World Champions, and would have been worthy
winners had they beaten the Spanish in South Africa.
Germany heads into its Euro 2012 opener against Portugal on Saturday with little to no momentum
on its side following a 5-3 exhibition defeat to Switzerland and a drab 2-0 win over Israel. But an
even bigger concern, undoubtedly, remains the lack of leadership that is needed to claim glory at
the highest level.
Yesterday I kicked off the Euro 2012 theme on the blog and started with the favourites, Spain.
Moving on, today we'll have the joint favourites, Germany (in the eyes of the bookmakers, at
least).

Uh-oh, it looks like the 25-year German-French curse is doomed to be unbroken forever!
You know how it is, no one really takes friendly matches seriously these days it's perceived as an
escape from the harsh intensity of the domestic leagues. But surely, France's 2-1 win over Germany
last night must have been painful for the fans, who turned up in full force and expected so much
from Joachim and Freunde.
Euro 2012 is a good 100 days away but tonight's match between Germany
and France can easily be billed as a semi-final or even final meeting at the tournament!
Meister-Coach Joachim Loew is trying to get people around him to sit down, but you
get a sense that he wants to beat the French real badly, especially since Germany hasn't beaten
France since 1987.

Barcelona have always been ready to renew his contract but Guardiola is still keeping his
silence towards that matter.

There's nothing that screams "German Simon Cowell!" more than this shot ofÂ

One round of international completed and we're safe. Safe in the sense that there are no reports
of any of our players look to have suffered any injuries. In fact, it was a successful night of
football for some of our players. Getting on the scoresheet and so on.

Germany coach and former 1970s catalogue model Joachim Loew has seen his lucky blue cashmere

been donated to the DfB's new German football museum, which is set to open in Dortmund at some
point in 2014.
