"They say I score once every 275 minutes... on average"
Following in the orange, manicured footsteps of Robbie Savage, former Italian international
striker Christian "Bobo" Vieri is taking part in the Italian version of Strictly Come Dancing.
England and Spurs legend Jimmy Greaves has questioned Liverpool's decision to spend such a vast
amount of money on misfiring striker Andy Carroll. In his weekly column for The Sunday People,
Greaves - who scored a fantastic 220 goals in 321 games for Spurs - argued:"If Fernando Torres was
vastly over-priced, then what about the fella Liverpool drafted in on the same day, Andy Carroll?

Not that it really mattered, but England broke a 43-year hoodoo by beating Sweden for the first
time in 13 games at a sparsely-populated Wembley last night, with the narrow victory also affording
them their first defeat-less calendar year since 1994.

One England player could make history in the friendly with Sweden tonight by scoring the
national side's 2000th goal. William Kenyon-Slaney scored the very first in a 4-2 victory over
Scotland at the Kennington Oval on March 8, 1973, Jimmy Greaves bagged the 1,000th against Wales at
Wembley on November 23, 1960, and Frank Lampard got the 1,999th in Saturday's win against
Spain.
The Joy of Six: classic Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool games | Scott Murray
From a 14-goal double-header in 1963 to a Klinsmann classic, here's a selection of some great
matches between the two sides 1) Liverpool 5–2 Tottenham Hotspur (First Division, 12 April 1963);
Tottenham Hotspur 7–2 Liverpool (First Division, 15 April 1963) It was Easter weekend, and Spurs
were going for the title in a three-way tussle with Everton and Leicester City.
The best goalscorer Manchester United legend Denis Law has ever seen is Jimmy Greaves but when he
looks around the Premier League the striker he can relate to best is Wayne Rooney. Law does not
watch...

Calling all Spurs fans!!
My Twittermate Norman Giller is writing a history of Tottenham managers. It is a book of two
halves, with the second section being filled by Spurs supporters, playing the manager and picking
their dream Tottenham team from when they first started supporting the club.
Man's best friend has not always been so friendly. While the latest edition of the Copa America
plays out, a recurring problem in South America, like, totally repeats itself: stray dog pitch
invasions. This dilemma is nothing new. Nor unique to South America. Nevertheless, I invite you to
take a walk down memory lane as we re-live some of the greatest canine cancha romps in
recent and distant history.
He'll have to make it on to the pitch first, but if Jermain Defoe scores on Saturday against his
former team, he will join an elite band of Spurs players who have scored 100 goals or more for the
club.
Only 15 players have achieved this so far and if Defoe becomes the 16th he will join illustrious
names such as Jimmy Greaves, Martin Chivers, Bobby Smith, Glenn Hoddle and many other great
servants from the past.
I've been putting together an article on some retro TV adverts starring footballers for Betfair
Football and came across these two classics starring our own Pat Jennings.
The following one featuring Pat dressed up as a goalkeeping oil filter for Unipart was pretty
familiar to me, but the advert below in which he stars alongside Tony Tiger in an advert for
Frosties was one that I hadn't seen.
