For those who might not be aware, I moved from Chicago to St. Louis, Missouri this past November
to start a new job. Overall, I don't have a lot of complaints. There are a few things Chicago have
that St. Louis doesn't: good pizza, a legitimate subway station, and oh yeah, an MLS franchise.
I first met Dave Lange in the spring of 2010 while reporting on the financial issues of Jeff Cooper
and AC St. Louis. At the time Lange had been reporting for the St. Louis Globe-Democrat covering
soccer. He knew all the shakers and movers in St. Louis as it related to the game and was [...]

It's time for us to have an adult conversation about Major League Soccer and where the winds of
expansion will blow next.
This one is going to be difficult for some people; the truth will sting a little. But it's a
conversation that needs to happen, so let's sit down and get this over with.
This news came across on Friday evening but its still worth bring up. Inside Minnesota Soccer
reported on Friday that the USSF was not pleased with the NASL's progress so far and voted to
remove the league's provisional second division status.
In a way this should come as no shock to those who've followed the story since last year and
beyond.
As USL Pro is moving forward with its realignment and scheduling, the NASL has taken some huge
step backwards. On Wednesday, A.C. St. Louis announced it was ceasing operations, depriving the
fledgling NASL of a critical metropolitan area. But even worse news came right before the
weekend, as Inside Minnesota Soccer reported the USSF was unhappy with NASL's progress so far and
voted to remove the league's provisional second division status.

The North American Soccer League's attempt to become the sole proprietors of second division soccer
in the United States and Canada took a hard right into a telephone pole today. Brian Quarstad of
Inside Minnesota Soccer is reporting that the NASL's application has been rejected by US Soccer,
presumably due to the inability of several clubs to meet new standards imposed after last year's
NASL-USL forced marriage.
As first reported on the Inside Minnesota soccer website, AC St Louis is no longer in business.
The remaining employees were let go this week according to the story. The story also offers
information on the AB Soccer Complex:
Cooper is believed to still be looking for a buyer of A-B Park, which was given to him by
Anheuser-Busch in 2009 to help Cooper's bid to bring an MLS team to St.
Jeff Cooper looks to have finally closed the chapter on a team that played only 1
season.
IMS has been told by multiple sources in St. Louis that Division I pro soccer club AC St. Louis
has finally closed the doors. While little had been heard from the club since the season ended in
October, the team still had several staff on board including General Manager Tim Owens and Director
of Public Relations Tony Hubert.
