The 40-year-old goalkeeper tweeted to a Galatasaray fan, one of his former teams during his long career, that the Union have approached him about adding a year to his contract.

The trash talking Sons of Ben team learned on Thursday who they will face on the pitch when they meet the Union's front office squad in the inaugural River Cup charity game at PPL Park on July 15.

Among those appearing for the front office will be, from the coaching staff, Peter Nowak, John Hackworth, Rob Vartughian and Brendan Burke.

Wednesday was a big day for celebrity loving Philadelphia Union fans.

Stuart Holden, an American intentional and Bolton Wanderers midfielder, came to the game and endeared himself to the Sons of Ben by joining them in supporting the Union from the River End for five minutes. Soon after Holden's visit to the River End was one by Hugh Jackman.
