England duo Downing and Henderson were handed their first outings for Liverpool since their
big-money arrivals from Aston Villa and Sunderland respectively, but it was not an occasion to
remember.
Kenny Dalglish admitted he was disappointed by Liverpool's surprise 3-0 defeat at Hull City on
Saturday.
Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson and Alexander Doni all made their debuts for Liverpool, but they
could not prevent the Reds from slumping to their first defeat of pre-season.
Hull picked up a confidence-boosting win thanks to goals from Robbie Brady, Robert Koren and Jay

Trio Make Debut As Liverpool Fall to Hull
Liverpool crashed to their first defeat of pre-season against Hull at the KC Stadium this
afternoon, as Doni, Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing all made their first appearances for the
club. The home side came away with an unexpected 3-0 victory thanks to goals in the first half from
Robert Brady and Robert Koren, added to in the second half by a close range finish from Jay
Simpson.
