Lots of Arsenal news filtering through this morning, not least of which is the report alerting us that Peter Hill-Wood does not expect to open contract talks with Robin van Persie until the end of the season.

RVP's current deal is due to expire in 2013 and, obv, AW and the like are keen to get him to sign a new but apparently he does not want to do that until the summer.

Benfica have defeated Pacos Ferreira 2-1 to win their thrid straight League Cup today in Coimbra. Benfica got first half goals from Jara and Javi Garcia before an own goal by Luisao in the second half cut the lead to one. This made things a bit more interesting at the end but Benfica hung on for the victory.
