The second MLS draft is coming up tomorrow, the Supplemental Draft is going to take place via
conference call. Sporting KC hold 5 picks in the 4 round draft. KC have the 16th, 35th, 43rd, 54th,
and 73rd picks in the draft tomorrow. KC currently has 27 players on their roster, although some
players will still have to earn contracts, particularly Cyprian Hedrick who has not signed a
contract as yet with the team.
The San Jose Earthquakes took a step toward fortifying their back line Wednesday by agreeing to a
deal with Honduran centerback Victor Bernardez.
Bernardez, 29, has 52 caps for Honduras. He started in all of Honduras' games during this past
summer's CONCACAF Gold Cup and was also a member of the country's World Cup team in 2010.
And moving on...

I am back on the expansion draft list bandwagon this afternoon. I've been working here and there
this week on compiling several club's lists. Currently I am only working on teams that are
eliminated from playoff contention though next week we'll have plenty more as teams fail to advance
in the post season will be up to eight and then up to 12 when the wildcard round ends.
Kasey Keller's night was nearly perfect. He is ending his club career in a fashion where anyone
would be happy for him to still be playing. From saves of snap headers, to a sequence that is
reminsent of that epic match against Brazil he was as good as he's even been in MLS. Opportune
finishing by Sammy Ochoa tied the game and started the climax of an amazing night of soccer and
spectacle.
Chicago Fire midfielder Logan Pause, New York Red Bull midfielder Mehdi Ballouchy, former
Chivas USA defender Jason Hernandez and current Chivas USA utility man Michael Lahoud with St. Jude
patient Sidney.
Chivas USA will mark Goals for St. Jude Week tonight at its home game against Toronto at Home
Depot Center.
The Quakes host DC United at Buck Shaw stadium tomorrow night at 7:30 pm. The Quakes are on a 7
game winless streak and are coming off a disappointing thumping against Real Salt Lake. They
currently sit 12th in the league table, two spots out of playoff contention. DC United are trying
to make the playoffs as well, but are much closer to making it into the top 3 of the East than the
Quakes are in the West.
You may not be able to see David Bingham's face in that picture, but I'm sure his smile is as big
as Jason Hernandez'. It's been a while since I've posted, sorry for that. In the meantime the
Quakes held Philadelphia to a 0-0 draw on Saturday night, defeated the English Premier League's
West Bromwich Albion in a friendly on Tuesday, and today there was some trading going on that
resulted in 3 new players joining the Quakes.
Chivas USA's second Wednesday night game of the season did not prove a crowd crushing experience
driving into Home Depot Center tonight.
And if it hadn't been for the way to many parking lot attendants and unnecessary barriers
preventing you from finding a spot easily and quickly I would have been through the gates even
quicker.
While Palo Alto and Stanford Stadium hosted an impressive 4th of July fireworks show, albeit on
July 2nd, the match itself also had its share of fireworks. The Quakes came off as a bit more
feisty and had the majority of fouls on the night, resulting in Bobby Burling picking up 2 yellows
and being forced out of the game.

Amid the hype surrounding D.C. United's blockbuster acquisition of Dwayne De Rosario on Monday,
the club's trade with San Jose for center back Brandon McDonald a few hours earlier largely flew
under the radar.
Buck Shaw was packed yesterday for the Northern California leg of the Clasico and the 1906
Ultras and the Casbah were out in force. The game provided plenty of drama as Donovan Ricketts was
injured, sub Josh Saunders was ejected, and midfielder turned replacement goalie Mike Magee proved
strong enough to stave off San Jose's attacks.

towards Nazarit.
The Fire is hoping that Tuesday's penalty kick victory over the Earthquakes will serve as a
spring board to a reversal of fortunes. Despite advancing to the US Open Cup tournament for a
fourteenth consecutive season the Fire are still winless in their last eight MLS regualr season
matches. After a difficult start of the their own, winning only once in their first eight matches,
San Jose has won it's last two at home against Columbus and New England allowing them to crawl back
towards respectability.
Mark Geiger has been much maligned for his refereeing decisions during the Philadelphia Union's
game against the San Jose Earthquakes last Saturday, but there was one important call he got
completely correct. Geiger's handball call on Earthquakes defender Jason Hernandez was absolutely
legitimate, despite the fact that almost anyone watching the game couldn't tell if it was or
not.
Despite a bizarre series of decisions by referee Mark Geiger which led to the Philadelphia Union
going down to ten men, they were still able to collect a win over the San Jose Earthquakes Saturday
afternoon at PPL Park by the familiar scoreline of 1-0.
It was the Union's fourth win of the season, which all have finished at 1-0.
Sebastien Le Toux scored his first goal of the season, doing so from the penalty spot, and the
10-man Philadelphia Union held off the San Jose Earthquakes for a 1-0 result at PPL Park Saturday
afternoon.
Philadelphia was gifted the penalty when Earthquakes centerback Jason Hernandez went to ground
to block an Amobi Okugo cross by the end-line, and referee Mark Geiger deemed that Hernandez
handled the cross.
In these updates throughout the season, I'll be keeping track of which MLS players have played
every minute of every game in the regular season. That feat has been accomplished only 42 times in
15 seasons. Click here for the complete list.
This year, we started with 198 eligible players (18 teams times 11 starters).
Toronto FC hit the road to face San Jose Earthquakes and came away with their first away point
this season. It wasn't always pretty, but there were some notable strong passages of play. Some of
our new acquisitions are starting to show real promise on the pitch as well. Points away from home
are few and far between for most MLS teams and TFC have always been poor on the road, but for some
reason we seem to do well when we play away to San Jose.
Synchronicity is a great and wonderful thing. Like when one needs to find an interviewee for
three questions, and you know of a blog that is going to launch on the network, and then you find
out that they are launching the very week that the Sounders face the Earthquakes.
So go welcome Quake, Rattle and Goal to SBNation.

Expansion draft. Re-entry draft Part One. Re-entry draft Part Two. Superdraft. Now the
Supplemental Draft.
Though MLS has tried to exhaust you with its countless relocation and dispersion techniques this
offseason, don't give up on the last and perhaps most unheralded draft.
Well, five years wasn't enough to properly evaluate Chris Wondolowski. But looking back on
SuperDrafts are like looking back on memorable road accidents.
So let's get the conclusion out of the way. You don't build a winner through the MLS SuperDraft.
You build a winning MLS team through trades and discovery players.
