John Terry
We never give too much attention to defenders in the weekly Top Performers, but last week John
Terry not only led the Blues to a shutout against a highly potent offense, but he also put in the
lone goal of the match and a timely first on the season for Terry.

EPL Talk 08 November @ 10:42 AM EST
It wasn't the prettiest of games, but it was enjoyable to watch. Reminiscent of old-style
English football with plenty of balls kicked high and long, Hull City pulled off a last gasp winner
to beat Stoke City 2-1 and to give manager Phil Brown a chance of remaining as manager of the
Tigers just for a little longer, perhaps.

Phil Brown has been talking a storm about Jozy's
"Twittergate" this week, including gems like this:
Asked if Altidore had put the twit in Twitter, an unimpressed Brown replied: "I'd have put an
'a' in it."
Now that is the kind of comment Maradona would be proud of!

Leyendo los resulatdos del mundial sub-20 en Egipto me encontre con un jugador de Camerùn llamado
Yaya Banana! Facil que mi amigo Banana se lleva el titulo en cuanto nombres se trata.

Tournaments like Arsenal's 'Emirates Cup' and AJAX's 'Amsterdam Tournament' have become big
draws for football fans looking for some quality football in the summer season. With high quality
clubs and big venues, you almost get the same experience of an early season Champions League group
stage match in what is the slowest time of the year for the sport.

injuring his hand in a nightclub brawl. As Grant Wahl tells it, Joseph wasn't to blame for the
fracas, but he will nonetheless be sidelined with tendon and nerve damage to his right hand.
Or will he?
Franz Beckenbauer played a long stretch of West Germany's 1970 World Cup semi-final in Mexico City
with a broken collarbone, and Germany's Phillip Lahm played this summer with a soft cast over a
broken elbow (and there are plenty of other examples of players being taped together for the
occasion, but I have purposely chosen to highlight only great feats of Teutonic endurance), so
might Joseph return to the pitch, one hand bundled in gauze?
