UEFA Power Rankings 7 February 2012 - The 90th Minute Soccer Blog
Below are my weekly power rankings for the top (8) clubs teams in UEFA. These rankings are a
combination of their play in domestic and UEFA competitions.
The rankings haven't changed from the last (late January) as the top three remain the same.

"I had never experienced the mailman at the door getting on his knees and kissing my feet.
The Italians are so crazy about football it's unbelievable."

Probable Formations Round 19 Italian Serie A Big Name Update No Alex Pato for AC Milan, their
Brazilian striker is to be sidelined for about four weeks with a muscular injury. Inter manager
Claudio Ranieri looking to continue his clubs unbeaten streak to eight victories. Hopefully team
and manager won't get caught looking ahead to the mid-week Coppa match away to Napoli as.
Host Kevin is joined by Serie A Weekly writers Owen Neilson and Ryan Ross to discuss all the
surprises and events from the first half of the Italian Serie A 2011-12 season. Podcast topics
include, Juventus, Milan and Inter, players like Jovetic, Klose, Djibril Cissé and Simone
Pepe, a Best XI, and also a few words on racism in football.
As the January transfer window kicks into high gear, the name many football fans are most eager to
see on the move is Carlos Tevez. The now infamous saga between the Manchester City striker and
Roberto Mancini seems destined to end in days if not hours, with Italian Serie A to be the
Argentine's destination.
Sunday night Roma won the Derby del Sole at the San Paolo beating Napoli 3-1. Inter Milan won away
at Cesena, Juventus' brilliant start to the season continues and AC Milan won at home to Siena
Saturday evening, looks like the traditional top four of Italian Serie A are back as the lead pack.
Saturday 17th December Three games on Saturday night; the first was Chievo with a home victory
over.
As one unbeaten run came to a close in England, another ws sustained in Italy as the magic hands
of Italy and Juventus keeper Gianluigi Buffon earned the Bianconeri a 1-1 draw with Roma.
It's been interesting to see how the Italian Serie A is playing out these past couples of
weeks.
Italian Serie A club Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio, commonly known as just Atalanta, has launched a
special edition Errea Christmas 2011 jersey. The new kit continues a tradition started by the club
in 2010 in which a one-off Christmas themed jersey is used what Atalanta deems to be its "Christmas
Match" for season.
Joint leaders atop Italian Serie A going into this weekend, managers Eddy Reja and Antonio Conte
both knew this was going to be a huge test of their scudetto potential. Juve's Andrea Pirlo passed
a last-minute fitness test to start, and the Olimpico audience welcomed back ex-Roma star Mirko
Vucinic just like old derby days.
Several Italian coaches have successfully worked outside Italy in the last few years including
former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti who succeeded in achieving a historic
double in his first season in charge in London by leading the Blues to the English Premiership
title and the FA Cup trophy.
Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti is relishing the prospect of linking up with Argentine
compatriot Carlos Tevez in January as speculation rises over the future of the unsettled Manchester
City forward.

considered him to be the club's best player.
What a cracking weekend in Italian Serie A where there were massive wins in the big games for AC
Milan away at AS Roma and Juventus winning away at Inter Milan. Siena hit four past Chievo and
Fiorentina managed to get a 1-0 win over Genoa in a must win match. Here are the top 5 goals of the
week 5. Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Italian Serie A since yesterday has an unexpected leader: Udinese Calcio. After the amazing
4th place of the last year Francesco Guidolin's team is now at the top of the league despite the
selling of many foundamental players during the last summer market.
Players like Gokhan Inler, Alexis Sanchez and Cristian Zapata have been sold for more than £ 60
millions and replaced with less expensive players such as Gabriel Torje ( £ 5 millions from Dinamo
Bucaresti) and Danilo Larangeira (form Palmeiras).
As usual, there is plenty of action taking place on U.S. television this weekend, but let's face
it, there's one match that dominates the schedule. This past weekend, Manchester United faltered
and dropped to second in the English Premier League behind intercity rival Manchester City and also
lost the top spot to its hated adversary in the latest WCR Top 25 Clubs in the World.
Italian Serie A returned after the international break and if you were looking for goals this match
day, Serie A was not obliging. Five games ended as nil-nil draw result. Inter stumbled away yet
again, while Lazio over came A.S. Roma thanks to a late winner and AC Milan were gifted an
important win at home 24 hours prior.

of managing in the same league as Fergie.

Fortunately, now that the strikes are over, we finally have a full slate of action in world
football, featuring the return of the Italian Serie A to the television stage. At this point, for
the first time in a long time, all of the major domestic leagues in the world are in action at the

Tottenham Hotspurs' midfielder, Sandro, hints at potential future aside from White Hart Lane as

the future.

offering up games worth seeing.
So this is what it means to get relegated from a soccer channel to a nationally televised

division league during an NFL pre-season game?

Despite being written off across the global football media, Arsenal players continue to believe
that this might just be the season they end their six-year trophy drought as long as they make it a
point to defend together.
The Gunners started their Premier League campaign with a disappointing goalless draw away to
Newcastle but manager Arsene Wenger immediately highlighted that a clean sheet away from home has
to be lauded.
Down goes Thiago Motta but check out the special event jersey. At least Inter fans in the Far East
were given something to remember their heroes by as it was not the final scoreline that caused them
to jump for joy. Hopefully for Nerazzurri tifosi this image won't mirror the Italian Serie A season
ahead.
Unione Sportiva Lecce or simply U.S. Lecce is an Italian soccer club based in Lecce, Apulia. Lecce
