It seems like a dream but it's true, the Fort Lauderdale Strikers made it to the NASL finals and
will meet the Minnesota Stars in a 2 game series that starts next Saturday in Minnesota.
Over 4200 people showed up to see the Strikers beat the Islanders 2-1 (5-2 aggregate) thanks to a
brace by Brian Shriver.

The Fort Lauderdale Strikers are 90 minutes away from the NASL final thanks to a 3-1 win over the
Puerto Rico Islanders. With a 2 goal lead the Strikers will look to eliminate the Islanders this

every Monday night at 10PM. Last night we had a great show covering the USA vs Honduras game in
Miami and the Fort Lauderdale Strikers victory over the Puerto Rico Islanders in the NASL playoff
semifinals.
Sporting Kansas City made one move today before the roster freeze at 4pm Central time today. Today
KC announced that they'd acquired Kenyan defender, Lawrence Olum. Olum spent most of the year with
Orlando City SC of the USL Pro division. The 27 year old Olum played in 21 games for Orlando City
in league play, recording only 1 assist.

The Philadelphia Union have signed midfielder Morgan Langley.
Langley had two goals in 20 games for the Islanders this season. He becomes the third player to
make the move from Harrisburg to Philly, following Sheanon Williams and Big Joe Tait.

Week 22 of the NASL season saw a full slate of Saturday games as the Carolina RailHawks extended
their lead over second place Puerto Rico to nine points by defeating FC Tampa Bay 2-0, while the
Islanders unbeaten streak ended with a 2-0 loss to the Atlanta Silverbacks. The Fort Lauderdale

After playing each other Saturday in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, the Islanders and FC Edmonton played a
Tuesday night match. While FC Edmonton couldn't quite avenge their Saturday loss, they did get a
measure of satisfaction by leaving the island with a point after drawing 1-1 with the in form
Islanders.

The playoff picture is slowly coming in to focus as the NASL has less than one month left in the
regular season.
FC Edmonton was fortunate to play the woeful Atlanta Silverbacks last weekend to snap an
eight-game winless streak but faces a much tougher test against Puerto Rico on Saturday.
Union Come Back From 2-0 Deficit To Beat The Harrisburg Islanders 5-3
The Union beat the Harrisburg Islanders, their USL-affiliated team, 5-3 in Harrisburg.
The Philadelphia Union have brought in former Player Development League (PDL), part of the
United Soccer Leagues (USL), Defender of the Year Joe Tait on trial.
Tait, revealed as a Union trialist during the team's 5-3 friendly win over the USL's Harrisburg
Islanders, is a 20-year-old defender with the Dayton Dutch Lions of the USL PRO division.

As most NASL teams enter their final 10 games of the season, here's a taste of how dominant
Carolina has been since the beginning of April.
The Railhawks have racked up an incredible +25 goal differential over their opening 18 games.
That's followed by the NSC Minnesota Stars.
"The islanders (the English) are the pirates of the world, a bunch of pirates...I will make their
lives hell... In 2014, I'll be able to get away with anything. The most slippery, unthinkable,
Machiavellian things - denying press credentials, barring access, changing game schedules. While

This weekend kicks off what is sure to be a thrilling season in France. After Lyon's selfish
display of seven consecutive league titles from 2001-8, the past three champions have been
different and a fourth this season would be no surprise. Luckily, League 1 has always boasted an

The NASL debuted their new game ball last night at all three league games in Atlanta, GA,
(Silverbacks vs. Islanders), St. Petersburg, FL, (FC Tampa Bay vs. Strikers) and Blaine, MN, (Stars
vs. FC Edmonton).
The ball which is made by Joma, looks very much like the old NASL balls from the 70′s but uses
the new NASL Logo and star.

A battle for second place takes center stage in the NASL this weekend as teams try to keep pace

The Fort Lauderdale Strikers announced there will be a double header this Saturday as Lockhart
Stadium. Starting at 5 pm. Palm Beach United and the Jacksonville-based Florida Sol of the Women's
Premier Soccer League (WPSL) will be playing prior to the Strikers versus the Puerto Rico Islanders
to be held at 7:30 pm.

Once again this week I'm joined by co-hosts Gerry Wittmann and Jay (YankiBoy) Long.
We take a slightly different tack on things this week as Jay, Gerry and I review this past weeks
games and give our predictions for this coming weekends games.
On a typically rain soaked and slickened field at Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium in Bayamon, Puerto
Rico, the Minnesota Stars put on an outstanding 2nd half performance to come from behind and get an
important 1-1 draw with the Islanders.

The Stars started in their typical 4-4-2 lineup but with a few different faces in the starting
lineup.
The phrase national hero can be overused in football reporting, but one man who has a
valid claim to such a title is Torkil Nielsen of the Faroe Islands.
The Faroe Islands sit inbetween Norway and Iceland, due north of Great Britain. With a
population of only 50,000 they first entered international competition in 1990 where they faced
Austria in the opening game of their Euro 92 qualification campaign.

Utter Dominance. That is the only way to describe what the Carolina Railhawks accomplished last
night in their 3-0 win over the Puerto Rico Islanders. With the win Carolina improved an unbeaten
streak to seven straight matches and asserted a strong hold over the league table.
Mr. Miguel "Mike" Roca, the founder of the Puerto Rico Soccer League (PRSL) and the current
president of Club Atlético River Plate-Puerto Rico has now spoken out about the crisis facing the
league and his club.
Prior to Roca's first public comments, Mr. Claudio Álvarez-Dunn, the franchise's general
manager, had been the organization's sole voice dealing with the press in response to the
crisis.
Three NASL matches were scheduled for Saturday, but unfortunately the Florida derby between FC
Tampa Bay and the Fort Lauderdale Strikers had to be delayed, and eventually postponed, because of
lightning. Earlier in the afternoon, the Carolina RailHawks took their show on the road to
Montreal and thumped the Impact 2-1 before almost 12,000 fans, while NSC Minnesota came up with its
most complete game of the season, downing Atlanta 3-0.

shooting straight down.

Week 3 in the NASL has already seen one surprising upstart stumble against a league favorite,
and fans now look forward to weekend matchups featuring teams looking to get back on track.

It was an exciting opening weekend in the NASL with an expansion side earning a surprising road
victory and the defending champions making a statement as every game ended with a one-goal
margin.
This week,two sides that opened strong face off when Puerto Rico continues its North American
road trip against FC Tampa Bay.
Keon Daniel made the trip to Greece with the Philadelphia Union, according to a report by the
Trinidad Express.
The Trinidad newspaper says that the team "were interested enough to take Trinidad and Tobago
midfielder Keon Daniel to Crete on a 16-day pre-season camp. But, there is some doubt whether the
24-year-old former Petrotrin and Caledonia AIA midfielder will make the final cut.
After the decision made by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), that revoked their
preliminary sanctioning of the North American Soccer Leagues (NASL) for Division 2 soccer, the NASL
teams supporters groups united and sent a letter to USSF President Sunil Gulati.
