The Scottish football season finally came to a halt as Rangers win the Scottish Cup following their
1-0 victory over Falkirk last Saturday. The promotion and relegation fixtures have been played;
St Johnstone,
Raith Rovers,
Ayr United,
Stenhousemuir and
Dumbarton are all preparing for life in a
higher division following their promotions, while for
Inverness Caley Thistle,
Clyde,
Airdrie United,
Queens
Park and
Stranraer next season will mean having to adjust to life
in a lower league.

Terry Butcher, the former England captain and current assistant manager with the Scottish national
side has today been named as the new manager of struggling SPL side Inverness Caley. The move does
not come without risk, given Butcher's record in football management. Is he the right choice, or
have Caley missed the boat in not appointing a manager with more credible managerial experience?

Craig Brewster, sacked yesterday as manager of Inverness Caley, was in his second managerial spell
at the club having re-joined Caley following spells as manager of home-town team Dundee United and
as a player with Aberdeen. Inverness, who finished 9th in the table last season are one of only
four clubs in the SPL never to have been relegated, but the teams performances this season has made
many in the stands wonder if this is the year that that statistic will change .
