Look a new post! Fellow AOs, I know it has been a long time coming, but I wanted to extend an
appreciation to all of you for sticking by this blog. I, like most of you, was yearning for new
posts over the past month, and like most of you, I watched this blog daily for new threads to no
avail. We kept the banter alive in the Wigan thread hoping and waiting for news to come, and
then sadly the day came when JG stepped up to let us know that he and the rest of the blogging team
needed to call it quits due to various real life activities.
THE KING IS BACK... oh yeah, we also play some team this weekend.

By now you've heard the rumors. Read the Twitters, Sky Sports, and your old ma. Believed it
straight away, or looked at the screen in disbelief, yelling obscenities, assured that Wenger took
the easy way out, refusing to take a gamble on some multi-million euro German hunk.
...And thus, that shall be the first and only time you will see me mention Oxtail-Chamberpot by
his full and proper name.
In all seriousness, today both Arsenal and Southampton announced the signing of the young
forward to Arsenal, where he will immediately come into the first-team and start training with
them.
* Yes, this is a shout-out to our recently departed midfield maestro, The Martin. (Check the
guest appearance.)
As you now know, a few of us will be taking over the Arsenal Offside page, so some introductions
are in order. I think Homey's prepping an intro post, but seeing as I just finished a contract and
have a few days free, I thought I'd come on and tell you all a little bit about myself while he
gets that sorted.
It's hard to know where to begin. Another big game, another poor performance and another trip
home with 0 points.
It was not by any standards a feast of football. United were set up to deny Arsenal time and
space and they did it ruthlessly well. The only answer to that kind of system is serious hard work
and I can't avoid the feeling this morning that we didn't do enough of that.
During the preseason this summer, while the Arsenal team were warming up with the Emirates Cup,
the reserves were also participating in a few summer friendlies. In matches played against Boreham
Wood and AFC Wimledon there were a few trialists featured, including 17 year old Japanese youth
international Ryo Miyaichi.
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has admitted that he should have handled the Luis Suarez racism
row differently.
The Uruguayan was banned for eight matches after being found guilty of racially abusing Manchester
United defender Patrice Evra during a Premier League match in October.
The Liverpool manager defended his striker staunchly in the face of the accusations, maintaining
Suarez had done nothing wrong.

recognising that recent FIFA installments often felt more like expansion packs than full games, EA
Sports promised revolution not evolution with this season's update.
Kenny Dalglish accepts he is going to have to manage Luis Suarez carefully to make sure Liverpool
see the best of him this season.
The Reds recorded a 2-0 victory at Arsenal on Saturday - their first away Barclays Premier League
win over the Gunners in a decade - following the introductions of Suarez and Raul Meireles.
The Easter programme didn't bring much joy to most Tottenham Hotspur supporters as we only
managed to get 1 point from the 6 that were on offer. We have now let the surprise package of the
season Newcastle Utd catch us with Chelsea laying in wait for any further mistakes in the race for
Champions League qualification.

Wednesday we looked at where each Eastern Conference club stands at reaching the post season.
Today, we head out to the Western Conference.
So I won't waste any more time here with introductions. Here is what each Western Conference
team has left and how many points I think each has left in them.
Friend and fellow photographer Leo Hallak and I were chatting about doing some cool shots at
opening night of LIVESTONG Sporting Park. We came up with the idea of doing a time lapse video
where we could see the warm ups, the introductions, fireworks and any displays by the Cauldron
(Members Stand). MLS did one they released yesterday but I think Leo's is way cooler.
I feel like I've been doing a lot of introductions lately, but this is the last (for a while), I
promise. This will open up the once-weekly MLS roundup, examining the sublime, the strange and the
silly from the weekend's action. Let's get into it this week, shall we? Match of the week New
England 3, Kansas City 2 I know, I know.

support of the Philadelphia Union as they took on New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena. Here's a
look at what Earl saw during the course of the day as the Sons of Ben and other Union supporters
did their team loud and proud.

Well, we're about to find out what happens when mommy and daddy give the keys to the new BMW to
their punk teenage kids. Or something. Let's just hope we get it back into the garage safely. But
seriously, our new group is attempting to do the impossible, which is fill the shoes of our
outstanding predecessors, the Martin and Sairax.
An embarrassing first half followed by a more competitive second with the introductions of Dempsey,
Cherundolo, and Bradley. A few very quick thoughts?
- Bradley is the first choice in central midfield, no question. His partner is open to debate. With
a healthy Holden available, I'd be leaning that way, but of those on offer, I'd probably opt for
Edu at the moment.
This week's episode of Special 1 TV features a live studio audience for the first time as they hurl
questions at Arsene Wenger and Jose. The usual cast of characters are in place, but now that the
introductions have been made, where does the episode...
