Sir Alex Ferguson has always enjoyed a good moan. Especially when it comes to England

Brazil in Doha, Qatar on November 14th.
Ferguson doesn't mention the Brazil game specifcially. But he may as well have.

Handsy's brain on a Friday night
International breaks and Friday nights, there is
nothing that will make a fantasy Premier League manager twitch faster...
Idle hands are the devil's playground, if I am anywhere near my computer after having an adult

Is this a mirage? Or are we about to see some exciting football return to our planet as the boredom
and general dullness of international football is replaced by the hustle and bustle of the Premier
League. I certainly hope so. God FIFA and UEFA have a lot to answer for. The international game is
so bloody dull, we so so rarely see decent teams play each other, there are so many meaningless or

Remember when I talked about the MLS strategy to win over its three target demographics? Yeah, Sean
Michelle reported in the Columbus Dispatch today that the strategy is working:
Tailgaiting outside of Crew Stadium, Matt Beaven resembled a typical American soccer

Didier Drogba when away for the International game made a comment that made me think the other
day. He said:"I often sacrifice myself for the good of the team," said the former Marseille man. "I
don't look at my scoring statistics. Have you ever seen any other great striker do as much
defending as I do?

Last night the Rapids played Club America of Mexico in a friendly at the Dick. The game was
scoreless despite America playing down a man for 2/3rds of the game. As you can tell from my lack
of coverage I wasn't particularly interested in the game and didn't go. Club America isn't that
interesting of an opponent.

One of the best parts about being a season ticket holder are the international games included in
your package. And boy, has this area been spoiled to some great clashes in the past, including
games against Bayern Munich and Barcelona. All inclusive baby!
This year features many great teams traveling the states, including Real Madrid facing DC
United, Barcelona traveling the country, and AC Milan tapped to take on the Galaxy in a bout of
highly ironic proportions.

Okay, we are finally hitting rock bottom with the lack of world football on television. Only the
need for continuity inspires me even to post this week's edition of the weekly football schedule.
But OCD I am, so the list must go on.
At least it's fair to say that what we do have going on is pretty interesting.

Don't tell the Brazilian players that the Confederations Cup doesn't matter. It's a football
tournament, and that means it matters to them. And after being down 2-0 to the Americans at
halftime, it really mattered to Brazil that they could overcome the deficit, and win this final,
and they made the US look like they were playing at least a man down in the 2nd half, scoring 4,
and having 3 of them officially recognized.

Any coach who can afford to leave Theo Walcott out of his team is a lucky one.
But when that team is the England U21s and Walcott has started the last two games for the
National Team, the manager opens himself up to scrutiny. Is the team really that good? Or is there
another reason?
Predictably, journalists have latched onto Pearce's sporadic use of his best player as a story
to run with and them to interrogate him on at every opportunity.

So there is a very credible rumor that has been ciculating for days that due to availability at
the Community America Ballpark (CAB), the temporary home of the Wizards, one of the Superliga games
against a Mexican team will be played in Saint Louis instead of KC. If this turns out to be true,
Wizards fans, like myself, who show up at all home games, regardless of the weather (and if you
were at the San Jose game you know what I'm talking about) will be denied an international match at
home.

So this is a rumor that's been making the rounds for a while now. Rumor has been that the Wizards

Dispatch. Tom Timmermann says that while the deal has not been finalized, it looks like it could be
confirmed as early as tomorrow.

Thanks to FIFA's rules and the poaching of players nations such as France and Mexico have
engaged in lately, more focus and emphasis than ever has been placed on players eligible to play
for more than one nation recently. Obviously the United States has previously depended on
naturalized players like Earnie Stewart, Tom Dooley, Hugo Perez and even the forgotten Brian Quinn
and David Regis, but recently the US has become more defensive in stopping other nations from
poaching players developed here at home.

A familiar face returns to Marseille.
Deschamps was part of the Bernard Tapie revolution of the late 80s and early 90s that saw L'OM

He takes over Eric Gerets who resigned a week ago.
