Real Madrid came back from a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Barcelona, but that was not
enough as Barcelona progressed to the Copa del Rey semi-finals 4-3 on aggregate.
Real Madrid will rue their missed chances, especially in the first twenty minutes when they had
more than enough chances to win this match.
Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is currently serving an 8 match ban, and given the events of the last
few weeks, the player will inevitably be under intense pressure and increased media scrutiny when
he returns. The FA has basically ensured that Suarez will stigmatised as a racist for the rest of
career, and opposing fans will definitely capitalise on that.
Arsenal's summer signing Mikel Arteta has backed manager Arsene Wenger's belief that there was
no lack of effort from the Gunners in their 1-1 draw at home to the Wolverhampton Wanderers
yesterday.
The hosts, who led through an early goal from Gervinho, were punished when Steven Fletcher
struck an equalizer right before the interval.
A plethora of former Tottenham players suited up in a Stoke City uniform and fully played their
part in ending the Spurs' 11-game unbeaten run with an impressive 2-1 win at the Brittania
Stadium.
Matthew Etherington, who was a Spurs player between 2000 and 2003, scored twice in the first
half, with his opening strike being assisted by Peter Crouch, who just left White Hart Lane this
summer.

After a busy week that saw Cesc Fabregas crumble under the intense pressure of our whining, a
reveal of the strange bathing predilections of the Portuguese NT and a few choice players sharing
what they don't want for Christmas, we are pleased to finally be able to bring you some proper
football news.
Tonight Arsenal face a giant of a test when German club Borusssia Dortmund visit them at the
Emirates in a winner takes all Group F Champions League clash. Any slip up tonight from either
Arsenal, Marseille or Dortmund could effectively end their hopes of moving on to the knockout
stage.
Arsenal lead Group F on 8 points and Wenger will be hoping that his star striker Robin Van
Persie will carry on from Saturday and ensure the Gunners qualify with a game to spare.

Option 1 Gritty Spurs Rearguard Action Sees Us Through
In the old days, stretching back as far as, oh, 6 or even 7 months ago, Spurs would have let
this one slip.
VDV celebrates his first. That's 5 wins out of the last 6 now for us. A brilliant run by Kyle
Walker down the right allowed him to get into the Rovers penalty area. He cut it back for Rafa to
slot home from inside the area. 0-1.
Endless sloppy tackles and defenders climbing on Blackburn strikers resulting in endless free
kicks.
It is clearly evident that during recent months the red and white armoury has come under intense
pressure, with many even questioning whether "Arsene Wenger is the right man for Arsenal Football
Club?".
A few years ago such a question would have been responded with laughter, yet today critics and
many Arsenal fans find themselves pondering on the very thought of Arsenals greatest manager being
replaced.
With the latest round of international fixtures out of the way, attention turns to Anfield at
Saturday lunchtime with Liverpool hosting Champions and bitter rivals Manchester United.
It is a clash which will be a huge test of the title credentials of Kenny Dalglish's side as
the Reds look to put down a marker and derail United's own title bid.
Bem-vindo a Bootcamp Monday! We're almost reaching the end of this
month's edition as Brasil prepares to face Mexico in a friendly tomorrow. We know
there are many Mexican Futbolita readers, so if you'd like to say "OIII!"
to Mano's men, they're putting up at Hotel Camino Real, where a
churro or two would be most welcome if you'd like to slip past those buff security guys
(just kidding).
Villarreal picked up their first win of the new La Liga season on Tuesday night, beating Real
Mallorca 2-0. Giuseppe Rossi and Nilmar scored early in each half although the hosts could have
scored even more as they enjoyed a return to form at El Madrigal.
On another night Rossi could have had a hat-trick but it mattered little as the Yellow Submarine
ended a winless start to the season that had seen them second from bottom at kick-off.
First one to get the ball rolling
Transfer deadline day today. It is hard to catch up with things today as it stands. Names are
flying in left, right and centre. As I write this, there's 11 more hours to go before the transfer
window closes.
Having look like we've already concluded deals for Per Mertesacker and Andre Santos to add to
the Park Chu Young one, we've already added 3 new players.

That rag known as The News of the World is to shut-down this weekend.
Following its disgraceful 'phone-hackings' of a murdered teenage girl, victims of the 2005 London
tube bombings and deceased British soldiers, the 'newspaper' was under intense pressure from the
public and the parliament to act.
The last day of Premier League didn't provide any more title challenging scarce like last
season, but there's still something interesting to play for in the European Zone as Manchester City
and Arsenal battling for the direct Champions League ticket, while Liverpool battled out with
Tottenham Hotspurs for an Europa League spot.
It is that time of the year again, when championships are decided in European football. The
Bundesliga was completed last weekend. The Premier League, Primera division and Serie A clubs wrap
it up this coming weekend. And, right after that, there is the Champions league final.
Many of these decisive matches add considerable pressure on each player.

of their involvement in the planned live screening of Premier Soccer Sunday on May 1, sponsored by
the paper.

Qatar had a great game vs. China and the 22 years old player Yousef Ahmad scored both goals, the
first goal was a stunning great one. Game ended 2-0 but it could have been much more.

In addition to our weekly football phrases, we sometimes feature football language that appears
in the media and today we look at some of the language connected to Roy Hodgson's dismissal from
his position as Liverpool's boss.
LIVERPOOL, England - Manager Roy Hodgson left Liverpool on Saturday and the club appointed former
player and manager Kenny Dalglish until the end of the season to try to turn around a dismal run of
form. Hodgson, who joined England's most successful club from Fulham in July last year, had been
under intense pressure from fans in recent weeks after defeats by Wolverhampton Wanderers and
Blackburn Rovers.
