Demba Cisse the most expensive player in the January transfer and the other half of the
Senegalese strike force alongside Demba Ba, provided an instant impact as he scored a majestic goal
on his debut. Majestic.
Ba and Cisse were away on ACN duty and how they were missed, especially Ba, who gave Newcastle
the lead in the 30th minute for his 16th Premiership goal.
The Ox in the box will be quick as a fox to knock of Villa's socks
Jack Wilshere was set for a return mid February setting the medical world abuzz with his
miraculous return. Then he suffered a stress fracture in the same ankle during training and now the
story is he's lost for the rest of the season or at least a good portion of it.

In a showdown between two of the USA's best attackers, Landon Donovan prevailed providing both
the crosses that resulted in two perfect strikes as Everton beat Clint Dempsey and Fulham. The man
from Nacogdoches had a quieter evening.
Donovan has had an instant impact on Everton making the best of his two month loan and Dempsey
is on par to repeat last season's success, most recently scoring a hat trick against Newcastle.
Newcastle's hopes of taking advantage of Chelsea's draw at Norwich were stopped by a five-goal
second-half blitz from Fulham as they lost 5-2 at Fulham.
Fulham were poor in the first-hald and it was no surprise that Newcastle scored first thanks to
a Danny Guthrie thunderbolt from outside the area.
All because Liverpool hasn't made a move yet in the transfer market doesn't mean that people
aren't saying they're about to. So join us for the latest fun-like substance as we run down the
latest collection of names being linked into—and out of—the club as the end of the January
window edges into sight.
Arsene Wenger might consider his namesake Andrew Wenger in his search for a full back. Wenger, a
Duke University standout shows why he is the top pick in this year's MLS SuperDraft. He is listed
as a defender/forward and you can see why. He has impressive ball skills, attacks down the flanks
with speed, and finishes impressively.
Liverpool were desperate for a win after drawing 5 of their last 6 home games.
To make matters worse they had to lineup without top goal scorer Luis Suarez, after the striker
received a one match ban from his finger gesture to Fulham fans. This could be a sign of things to
come in the new year as his 8 match ban for racism is still under appeal.

Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy has set his sights on football coaching and management at the end
of playing career.
The Welsh international, renowned for his fiery character on the pitch, has enjoyed a successful
return to Anfield after moving to the club on a free transfer on deadline day.
But at 32-years-old, the former Newcastle and Manchester City forward admits his mind has pondered
life after professional football, and Bellamy is hopeful he can stay in the game.
Jay Spearing notched a brace and Sebastian Coates fired his first goal in a red shirt as Liverpool
Reserves saw off high-flying Sunderland 5-1 in the Barclays Premier Reserve League North on Tuesday

The Uruguayan got the home side off to the perfect start when he stabbed home on two minutes before

Chelsea vs Liverpool 16.00. 20/11/2011
Glen Johnson's struck a late winner at Stamford Bridge as Liverpool offered fresh hope
to qualify for the Champions League.
Chelsea's dismal Premier League run under manager Andre-Villas-Boas continued- they have lost
three of their last four games in the league.
Two weeks without league football and the opening days of the season a quickly fading memory has
put many in the mood to pick at what has for Liverpool gone from a year of hope to one that seems
to offer more of the same. A season that after an expectant summer only seems to offer more missed
chances.
STARTERSThe man who led the charge of the re-formed New York Cosmos Paul Kemsley has resigned from the
organization. This is not a good sign for the struggling proposition.
And since the Cosmos have fallen out of the race for the 20th MLS team, guess who has emerged as
the man behind a new bid to bring a team to New York City.
January will soon be with us and while the striking situation at White Hart Lane doesn't seem
quite so desperate as it did last season, it still seems likely that Spurs will be entering into
the market at some stage for reinforcements.
Despite Pav's wonder strike against his compatriots from Rubin Kazan last week, he has had a
lacklustre start to the season and could well move on this winter.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted he is not surprised by the strong start to
the season made by local rivals Manchester City. The blue half of Manchester have assembled a
talented squad at vast expense over the last couple of years and have matched united point for
point so far this season with 6 wins and only 1 draw from their opening 7 Premier League fixtures.
Liverpool veteran Jamie Carragher believes the Reds are lucky to have a player of Luis Suarez's
ability within their ranks.
The 24-year-old has made an instant impact at Anfield following his arrival from Ajax back in
January, scoring seven goals in just 18 appearances for the club thus far.
It's his all-round performances that have been earning rave reviews on Merseyside this season
though, and Carragher believes the Uruguayan striker is quickly become a crucial ingredient in the
Reds' side.

As many of you know by now, this past weekend was scheduled by FIFA as an international weekend
meaning that the club world took a break (for the most part) in order to facilitate some national
team games. The USA played twice against both Costa Rica and Belgium and lost both times. Such a
shame..
Sebastien Le Toux scored his second goal of the game in the 92nd minute to cap a remarkable
second-half comeback as the Philadelphia Union erased a three-goal halftime deficit en route to a
4-4 draw with the New England Revolution on Wednesday night at PPL Park.
It marked the third straight game in which the Revolution (4-11-12, 24 pts.
Mourinho is said to be keen on Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, who has made an instant impact on
Merseyside. Kenny Dalglish will fight tooth and nail to keep the Uruguayan at Anfield but the
allure of a move to Real Madrid may be hard to fend off.
Indeed it seems that the Scot sees the former Ajax man as his first choice striker and whilst a
pairing of Andy Carroll is used for some Liverpool fixtures the season Dalglish has looked to play
Suarez up front on his own and taking advantage of the goals he can now hope to see coming from his
new midfield signings such as Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson.
I think it's safe to say we aren't anywhere near our best at the moment. We aren't playing with the
fluidity AVB is looking for and the pace of our game. Saturday was another example of the case and
fair to play to Norwich who kept going and caused us problems.
Their goal was an obvious error as Hilario should have stayed put and let Ivanovic deal with the
cross that came in.
New Anzhi Makhachkala signing Samuel Eto'o has made an instant impact for his new club by
scoring the equalizer in a 1-1 draw away at FK Rostov.
The signing of the Cameroonian international has raised many eyebrows throughout the world of
football especially given the huge wages that he is reported to be earning, something akin to 20
million euros a year.
If you noticed like I did a pint sized player who took over midfield for the Philadelphia
Independence in Sunday's semi-final against the MagicJack and wondered idly, "She is something
special", don't go into the scouting business just yet.
Veronica Boquete is already out there and is the WPS player of the year because she is
special.
FC Twente midfielder Emir Bajrami makes an instant impact scoring a wonder goal
just 4 minutes after coming off the bench in FC Twente's 5-1 win over Heerenveen in the Dutch
Eredivsie.

The Bolton News has come out with info that Zat Knight's good friend Shaun Wright-Phillips wants
to come to good old Bolton Wanderers Football Club. With him, SWP would bring a load of questions
centering around his cost, ability, and how well he would fit into the team.
It's no secret that Shaun Wright-Phillips' wage demands are, to say the least, high.
Wayne Rooney is a man whom, it's fairly safe to say, won't be winning any awards any time soon
for most attractive Premier League footballer, or most attractive anything if we're being frank
about it. So, it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that the Manchester United striker has
been speaking to the press about the importance of his team being able to win ugly.
Torres in Blue First impressions of Fernando is a post from: Just Football
by Joe Steppel
How do you solve a problem like Fernando? The question itself sounds like the foundation upon
which a melodramatic Andrew Lloyd Webber reality show would be based. Roman Abramovich sitting on
his gilded chair, stroking his white cat as he casts his gaze over Stamford Bridge; his finger
hovering over the eject-o-button with Carlo Ancelotti's name emblazoned across it in the colours of
il Tricolore.
LONDON, England — Fernando Torres's Chelsea debut ended in misery when his team lost 1-0 at home
to Liverpool on Sunday, wasting the chance to take advantage of Manchester United's first league
defeat of the season. Torres, who moved from Anfield to Chelsea last week for a reported 50 million
pounds ($80.
Centre forwards across the world are being linked with a move to Spurs but manager Harry
Redknapp is looking to an existing member of our strike force to score the goals that will help the
team achieve its aims for the rest of the season.
Jermain Defoe kicked off the campaign in sparkling form which culminated in a hat-trick for the
national side against Bulgaria in September.
As Kenny Dalglish dons the red and white tracksuit once more for his first Anfield training session
since 1991 the feeling of relief among the supporters is palpable. Whether justified or not the
supporters angst and anger towards Roy Hodgson had reached unsustainable levels, meaning his all to
inevitable departure was the only way to [.
