KICKETTE 17 November @ 01:18 PM EST
Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard were out last night at the premiere pre-party of 15
Minutes That Shook The World, held at Jamie's restaurant, Cafe Sports.
It was, for them, a blazer and denim occasion. Who do you think works the look better?
We're going to have to go with Stevie, who has obviously taken inspiration from the newest footy
fash trend, and gone velvet smooth for the occasion.

Well all in all it wasn't a bad result. Though I watched the game alone I had a little
liveblogging adventure with Daryl and various commenters. If you missed the game I'll give you a
link to some highlights, and my pity (it was a good game). It was also, despite the fact it was a
loss, was an encouraging result for England.

Two home games, two home defeats, four goals conceded at home.
It's been a sorry start to the season for Persitara in their (latest) new home of Soemantri
Brojonegoro Stadium. The heavens opened as the fans left the stadium and heaven might be an
approriate place to start looking for inspiration as this current vintage seems to lack much of it
on the field.

No matter what happens from now until the end of the season, and whether we finish in the top 4 or
not, there are a number of recent transfer deals that bother me greatly - signings, sales or missed
opportunities that could've improved our squad and afforded us more depth than we currently
have.
The deals relevant to last season may even have turned some of those nagging draws in wins, maybe
giving us enough points to have snatched the title from Man Ure.

This article had some interesting quotes to draw me in:
However, it is only one month.

Any loss is disappointing, especially when the team's already lost six, but this one doesn't sting
too bad. Arsenal, with Nasri, Bendtner, and Eduardo in the line-up, didn't exactly play the Super
Teens, and probably deserved their victory.

This will be the biggest thing in a couple of years. Just like UEFA have done with their
Champions League, we will do with this. This will be to cricket what the... er... Champions League
is to football.

Liverpool have lost 4 games in a row. In one of those matches they lost because the ball got
deflected off a beach ball. That's funny. Because the Ref who allowed the goal to stay in now

Rafa Benitez believes the return of Steven Gerrard from injury can inspire Liverpool to turn around
their recent poor form.
The Reds captain missed the 1-0 defeat to Sunderland at the weekend, along with Fernando Torres,
with a groin injury but trained on Monday ahead of the UEFA Champions League clash with Lyon.

We ran this post a while back, but since this topic has reared its head yet again with the
upcoming US World Cup qualifiers, we thought we should post it one more time.
In a brief September 8th article, we brought up the debate on the difficulty of CONCACAF away
Qualifiers, citing Ives Galarcep's "Hazards of road qualifiers" and Luis Bueno's "Debunking the
myth.

After a seemingly endless string of MLS PK awards that have sent fans of virtually every MLS team
out into the night in search of replacement TV's (since the one they watched the game on now has a
brick in it) it's nice - well, maybe nice isn't exactly the word; let's say a relief - to finally
see an official point to the spot in stoppage time and not see him immediately surrounded by a
lynch mob of players bent on demonstrating that the FIFA "Respect" progam is the soccer equivalent
of "WIN" buttons:
Seriously, when is the last time you saw a ref call a spot kick and NOBODY says a single word to

Right; so it appears that we've got a bit of a task on our hands. Chelsea away is probably the
hardest place to go in the premier league. In my eyes; what we should be looking at is certainly
giving them a run for their money and upping the performance from the second half spurs of old that
was exhibited against Manchester United.

Long ago, P.J. O'Rourke in his book A Parliament of Whores said,
"You can't get rid of poverty by giving people money."
I just can't help myself relating it to Manchester City.
The transfer window is closed. And, Manchester City, backed by big bucks, have spent near to
£120 million in this single summer transfer window and around £200 million overall since last
summer.
