A bit of conjecture here. The injury news is looking a bit more positive but that might not be
what could be worrying Arsene Wenger now.
He has to get William Gallas and Bacary Sagna to refocus on club football after the Ireland
France odyssey. Gallas of course was one of the principal characters in the France farce and might
be in for some stick with fans with Irish national players in their club like City and Aston
Villa.

Okay, I know, 3 posts in one day is a bit excessive. But one was part of a planned thing, the
other was new injury news, and there are several things here that I thought you find
interesting.
First, and most importantly, Kieran Gibbs did not break his foot, only suffered brusing, and is
expected to be back and ready for action against Chelsea on the 29th.

Can he do it on his own without Torres, Benayoun, and Riera?
Steven Gerrard looks
set to start for Liverpool this weekend against Manchester City as his long road to recovery from a
groin problem looks almost complete...
Gerrard has used the international break to step up his rehabilitation program - and the news will
surely make Liverpool fans happy.

I wish Arteta was fit so I could replace Lampard with an absolute on the ball
genius
This international break has not been meaningless by any means- in fact, it's
been quite exciting as Nic Anelka gave France a 1-0 lead over Ireland, and former Fantasy Premier
League stars Obafemi Martins (Nigeria) and Amr Zaki (Egypt) got their countries one step closer to
South Africa as well.

Usually when the injury news pops up over the International Break it comes in the form of pulled
hamstrings or strained thighs - as in Frank Lampard's case with England today.
But this year continues to be the year of sad and scary high speed road accidents in world
football.
First the d(r)iver Cristiano Ronaldo wrecked his Ferrari.

What a miserable Tuesday morning, it's dark, raining and just.... miserable!
On top of that we have no club football to look forward to until the 21st November – that's
eleven days by my calculations..
Had a little peep around for some news, but there is very little. Suppose there won't be for the
next week or so, well not until after the first batch of international friendly's, then it will be
fingers crossed that none of our players pick up any injuries.

Liverpool can pull level with Aston Villa (and one point off Tottenham for fourth) on Monday
evening with a victory over Birmingham City. That's about the only certain thing we know right now.
As for the injury news on Torres, Gerrard, et al well you might as well just consider the starting

Well, just as my preview for the first match against AZ announced a monthlong injury to Theo
Walcott, I'm afraid I've got more bad injury news to report here.
Gael Clichy reportedly has a stress fracture in his back, and will be out for about a month. Two
weeks of that month will be the international break, but he will, at the very least, miss league
fixtures against Wolves and Chelsea and Champions League matches against AZ and Standard.

Good Afternoon everyone!
Sorry, for not being able to blog earlier, but I've had one of those maddeningly busy days where
time's just flown by. Today's also the last day that I post as my good mate The Goon shall be back
tomorrow to carry on running the fine blog as he has been doing so since over a year.

EPL Talk 15 October @ 02:34 PM EST
The international break is over, so it's time to get back to work for the guys in the EPL.
The weekend starts with a bang as Chelsea makes the trip to Birmingham to face Aston Villa and
wraps up with a battle of bottom dwellers on Monday when Hull City visit Craven Cottage.
Here's a look at the table.

It may have been a quiet week for the Rapids but all the noise from the other MLS games has left
their task very clear. A win in Dallas and they could be in the playoffs. Such a scenario will take
place for sure if the Rapids win in Texas and Real Salt Lake fail to beat New York tomorrow night,
something they haven't done in the past 10 games against the Red Bulls apparently.

Manchester United have today confirmed that Ritche De Laet will be a United player until
at least 2012. The Belgian defender was offered a new contract that will keep him at Old
Trafford for the foreseeable future (not entirely sure in what capacity, but at least he'll be
here). De Laet, now 20, was a surprise signing from Stoke, as he had never played for their first
team.

Bojan Krkic participated in practice on Thursday after being out of action for a month following
a hamstring injury suffered in FC Barcelona's August 31 match against Sporting Gijon.
Following the training session Krkic received the green light from the medical staff and could
make his way on to Pep Guardiola's roster for Saturday's match up against Almeria.

A heart-breaking Sounders FC loss to New England was sad not just as a result. But it might have
been the last time Revolution midfielder Steve Ralston took the field.

It took a couple game, but Cristiano Ronaldo is now in top form. He scored inside a minute and

defense when you're scoring five goals a game, right?).

Well, before we get to the preview, Adebayor looks to be in trouble. He's facing a 3-match ban
for violent conduct for stomping van Persie's face, and could be facing an additional ban for
inciting the Arsenal supporters at the Eastlands. Referee Mark Clattenberg said that he didn't see
the van Persie incident, but that if he had, he would have sent Adebayor off.

Andrei Arshavin is the latest injury casualty coming out of the international break as the Premier
League sets to resume this weekend.
The Russian superstar aggravated a groin injury playing for Russia against Wales.
Arsenal, however, may be able to replace Arshavin with Czech midfielder Tomas Rosicky - who could
return from injury to slot into the Gunners' midfield.

Look, ive had enough of this now. Please, just let it stop.
And my blogging software is was playing up.
Now, I'm English, I'm a fairly patriotic kinda guy but all this talk that diving is below
English players is total and utter bollocks in my view. I'm not going much more into it than that
but I want England to lose tonight, the mighty, honest, hard-done-by England
I'm not going to say something immature like I hope John Terry breaks his leg diving when
Eduardo tries to tackle him.

Afternoon people, this isnt going to be the longest blog I have ever written because quite
frankly there is not an awful lot out there and what is out there, is utter crap.
That is what The Sun are leading with today and it absolutely stinks. The chances of Usmanov
ever completing a takeover of this club are nil as far as I'm concerned, I don't think the board
(with the money of Stan Kroenke) would ever be swayed by Usmanov's billions, it must also be
remembered that Usmanov has lost a lot of money over the past year or so sitting 200 places lower
than Stan Kroenke in the rich list and with a wife who is even richer.

Having missed pre-season and the first game of the season because he was on duty with the
Mexican National side, it seems Carlos Vela is now a forgotten figure in the Arsenal squad and
transfer rumours are saying he will be offered to Fulham in our attempt to sign Brede
Hangeland.
But why?
Regular readers of my space will of course know I love Carlos Vela and that is why I am worried
about his future as I believe he can be very important this season.

A busy day at Offside HQ, and whole boat load of stuff to talk about. Strap in.
- First and foremost, roster moves. The long rumored, and now finally finalized move for David

enough that he had this to say,
"He is pretty versatile, pretty polished," Soehn said.
