Arsenal starlet Francis Coquelin has hailed the locker room impact of legendary on-loan striker
Thierry Henry, insisting that the veteran does not need to be on the pitch all the time to offer
his leadership.
Henry's two-month spell at the Emirates began with a bang as his decisive goal knocked Leeds
United out of the FA Cup but the Frenchman has since been sidelined with injury concerns.
Arsenal come to their match with United battered and listing badly
Thomas Vermaelen is a last minute decision, Thierry Henry has a "calf" problem, and Mikel Arteta
will definitely sit out the match. A full starting squad is out with injuries, yes, there are
eleven out. The most in the Premiership.
With New Year's come and gone, all Bundesliga teams have ended their brief winter vacation and
have traveled to training camps in much warmer climates than Germany. Many teams have already
played warm-up test matches and have begun running out their newest winter signings. The second
half of the season begins with match day 18 on January 20.
For a player who was once rejected by Watford and has failed medicals at Stoke and Stuttgart, it
seems odd that some of the biggest teams in Europe are being linked to Demba Ba. That seems to be
the case however with Spurs, Manchester United and PSG all being connected to the striker this
month.
Last summer, Liverpool rather famously spent big on players who created chances. To many, they
paid far too much for far too little and the results haven't lived up to the expenditure, but
regardless of whether one agreed with the approach at least there was a clearly identifiable
approach: Find the Premier League players who created the most scoring opportunities and then start
throwing money in their general direction.
There are injury concerns over Scott Parker ahead of tonight's match with the Baggies but our
midfield general is just one of a host of players that Harry may take a chance on this evening.
It's thought that both Ledley King and Aaron Lennon are in with a chance of returning to the side
tonight as Harry looks to put a bit of impetus back into Spurs' league campaign.
Will need to step up tonight
What a wonderful night of football yesterday was, if only for the one game which mattered.
Nicklas Bendtner did us no favour as he squandered an early chance to put his team ahead but
Sunderland won it right at the death to beat Roberto Mancini's Manchester City.
Giant leap
Since it's the last day of 2011, I'd like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and may your target
and aspiration be achieved next year. While everyone gets into their own party mood, there's still
a game to be played for Arsenal with Queens Park Rangers visiting the Grove. The players will have
to keep their celebrations on hold as we look to go back to winning ways.

With no fresh injury concerns ahead of tomorrow's game against Swansea is it simply a case of
‘as you were'? Will Harry stick to the side that played Norwich and will he let Bale and VDV
enjoy the roving roles that proved so telling on the night?
Unless there are any late withdrawals it does seem very likely that no changes are required but
then again there are very few options.
Reds to check on Gerrard
Kenny Dalglish today reported no fresh injury concerns ahead of the Boxing Day visit of
Blackburn Rovers and confirmed Liverpool will check on the fitness of Steven Gerrard ahead of the
clash.

Tomorrow in the later kick off Chelsea take on Wigan in our next Premier League fixture buzzing off
the back of another win on the spin against Manchester City last Monday night. Chelsea have David
Luiz back after suspension and no new injury concerns so it makes for an interesting team selection
by AVB.
Harry Redknapp has a few injury concerns ahead of Sunday's game with Stoke but the extra day
could give Ledley King, Jermain Defoe and Gareth Bale the time they need to get fit.
There is cover in place for King and JD but Harry will certainly be reluctant to take to the
field without Bale, who is back to his best and scored both goals here in our 2-1 win last
season.
The uncle and advisor of Celtic midfielder Beram Kayal has revealed that the prospect is currently
being tracked by Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish, who currently has Lucas Leiva and Steven Gerrard
out as long-term injury concerns.
Dalglish is likely to once again spend big money either in the January transfer window, or the
following summer, and Kayal is now reported to be one of the players he and his scouting team are
currently monitoring.

Kenny Dalglish today revealed he has no fresh injury concerns ahead of Saturday's Barclays

It's back to the second string tonight in a game where Spurs need to grab at least a point in
order to ensure qualification for the next stage of the Europa League.
The big news is up front where officially, Harry Redknapp has declared Roman Pavlyuchenko and
Gio Dos Santos to be ‘struggling' while in reality it seems likely that neither will make it.
While Abou Diaby and Tomas Rosicky look to have been confirmed as available for the Gunners, Fulham
Arsenal's opponents on Saturday evening have far more significant injury concerns. Republic of
Ireland international Damien Duff is out of the clash at the Emirates with a calf problem and
countryman Stephen Kelly's groin injury keeps [.

Steven Taylor must be playing his best football ever at St. James' Park this season. Steven
Taylor in action on Saturday After spending almost 18 months out in the cold with injuries and
with Mike Williamson keeping him out of the side, Steven has made a great comeback this
season, and is finally over his injury concerns.
Welcome back Real Football. We missed you.
Sometimes the international break helps. And on occasion it can disrupt a team's momentum. Many
Gunners have only played 90 minutes during the fortnight and, arguably, at an intensity level
fairly below the Premiership level. Ideally, this should help Arsenal as the players will not 'lack
sharpness'.
Kenny gives injury update
Kenny Dalglish is hopeful of having no new injury concerns when his players return from
international duty today.

Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard could have his hopes of getting back into the England team dashed
as a result of his fresh injury concerns, according to the Guardian.
The midfielder missed the Merseyside outfit's win at West Brom last weekend after infection set in

and he has not featured in a game for the Reds since their draw with Manchester United over two
weeks ago.

Tottenham have some injury doubts for their game with Newcastle on Sunday afternoon at St. James'
Park. Harry Redknapp - has injury concerns As`we learned yesterday, Emmanuel Adebayor is doubtful
because of a hamstring injury he picked up in the last game against Arsenal, and it's likely he
will not be risked at Newcastle.
A number of Tottenham players were in action last night including Younes Kaboul, Roman
Pavlyuchenko and Luka Modric. Pav was on the score sheet for Russia once again in their 6-0 rout of
Andorra but elsewhere, one man stood out above all else.
Gareth Bale scored and starred in Wales' impressive 1-0 win in Bulgaria last night.
Previewing this match it is clear that the Chicago Fire are a different team than they were
during the last meeting. Both teams certainly have injury concerns to key players, but the facet of
the game that will be most effected is different. One can consider that there are four portions of
any game, in ways these are what determined the old three band nomenclature of formations.
Soccer is a game of goals. Not necessarily pretty goals, not amazing feats of beating strong
defense, just goals. Saturday night as the Seattle Sounders beat the New England Revolution 2:1 the
goals made were all off of defensive errors. Diego Fagundez was unmarked on a corner leaving him
with just Kasey Keller to beat.
The Time Is Napoli! Italy's two premier sides went head to head in the peninsula's showcase match
of Week 2. Both the Partenepoi and Rossoneri earned respectable draws against hotly fancied
opposition in Manchester City and Barcelona respectively midweek, were coming into the Sao Paolo
clash with injury concerns.

The Game Usually, international breaks are something we don't look forward to, no Arsenal to

There have been several changes of personnel at Spurs since our last Premiership game and the
club website has confirmed that Emmanuel Adebayor and Scott Parker will both make their debuts
against Wolves tomorrow.
"Scott is ready to play and Emmanuel is short of games, but he's a naturally fit guy and again,
ready to play," said manager Harry Redknapp.
Okay, here we go. Rumours are that we've agreed a fee for Bryan Ruiz of Twente. Rumours are
that the fee is quite high, too.
Who is Bryan Ruiz?
A strange combination of Georgios Samaras and Dennis Bergkamp by the looks of it. He's a
Costa Rica international, too, which is exciting in itself.
There appear to be no new injury concerns for Spurs ahead of tonight's game against Manchester
United and with Luka Modric ruled out, manager Harry Redknapp may well stick with the starting XI
from last week's Europa Cup Tie against Hearts.
The back five look set to stay as they are unless Harry decides to change the keepers around,
otherwise Walker, BAE, Dawson and Kaboul should start ahead of Gomes.
