On the same day that FC Dallas released a defender, they add one. FCD has singed Colombian left
back Jair Benitez. He has been working with the first team in training since he arrived on
Monday. To make room for Benitez on the 24-man roster, FCD waived Michael Dello-Russo.

This was a great week from start to finish, with three of the best matches of the season happening
mid-week. First up was the Arshavin takes Anfield show as the Leningrad midfielder went crazy for
four goals against Liverpool on the road – and it still wasn't good enough for three points as

Independiente Medellin on Wednesday. The Tricolor have been champions of the Libertadores Cup for
the past three years but found it difficult to break the deadlock in this opening game, despite
dominating the attack.

The Preliminary Round of the 2009 Copa Libertadores consists of twelve teams who will each play a
two-legged tie with another opponent. The victors over both legs will advance to the group stage
and these fixtures will take place between January 27th and February 5th.
