When I woke up bleary-eyed and desperate of coffee this morning my first thought was "Why do I
wake up so early for the impending doom that is Arsenal?" I turned my TV on and was greeted by the
image of Arsene Wenger walking onto the pitch and a great view of the skyline above the Emirates
Stadium, leading me to think, "At least it looks beautiful out there.
Remember that perverse, pervasive sense of impending doom that followed the club around throughout
2009-10? Not the dreadful, soul-killing horribleness that was the Hodgson era, but the perpetual
Sword of Damocles which hung over Benitez's final campaign, where we fearfully waited to see what
could go wrong next.
With the 2012 olympics drawing ever closer we thought It would be great to explain a few of the

We briefly started the My Favourite Match season during the summer with my own
personal selection of the 1984 European Championship semi-final between France and
Portugal. This morning it's back, with Andrew Harding recalling a 4-2 win which,
as a seven year-old, came to define his relationship with the London club.
The promised rapture came and went on Saturday with no appreciable of impending doom. Of course,

With the losing start to Sporting Kansas City's season, I've noticed a lot of people are starting

questioned (except Jimmy Nielson), and in general, fans are FREAKING OUT man.
Fortunately, the reasons to not freak out are plentiful.

As touched on in this morning's news round up, the general consensus emanating from the nation's
press circle this morning was that Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is now surviving
on borrowed time at Anfield and developments this afternoon have done nothing to help truncate that
particular line of conjecture.
