Arsene Wenger is on the brink of becoming the longest serving manager in Arsenal's 125 year
history not to have won a trophy, we can reveal.
History shows that assuming we do not win anything this season which given our current form and
the general malaise about the club seems unlikely (at this point I offer a disclaimer should we win
both the FA Cup and the Champions League) - on Sunday July 5, 2012, we will have gone seven years
and 76 days without winning a trophy.

Celtic, fresh from a defeat at Tynecastle, are 3-0 down at half time to Kilmarnock.
Winning the title looks a long way off, Neil Lennon's managerial coat seems to hang on an ever
shooglier peg.
They came back to draw 3-3, three goals in a 10 minute burst from Anthony Stokes and Charlie
Mulgrew salvaging a point.
Freestyle in Rio
If my imagination could expand just a little bit more, then this video is everything I would
expect from a Brazilian freestyle futebol video. Beautiful Brazilian scenery and skills filled with
high swank to spare. There are incomprehensible skills that simply give off an abstract aura of
athleticism.
In the spirit of honesty, I can let you know that I've been writing the same Revolution-focused
blog post for well over a week. It's a long winding tale of where the team stands and what you
might do differently from a business and marketing perspective. Goodness knows, I didn't have the
heart to also tackle on-field possibilities in the same post.
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has again defended Andy Carroll after accusing the media of
targeting the most expensive British footballer in history.
Ahead of a reunion with former club Newcastle on Friday, the record-breaking £35million striker
has endured a torrid 12 months in 2011 after moving to Anfield last January.
Forced goodie, it is - just not for the reason I'd anticipated. Mexican tabloids have sniffed a
little something out and ran wild with bemus-able imagination on it, claiming Puebla are in
advanced talks to sign an American they figure is either Juan Agudelo or Daniel Williams.Little
girl not having it is wondering: "Is that the best they could come up with?
Wigan against Blackburn on a cold November afternoon. Normally not a game that would catch my
imagination and certainly not one that prior to this weekend I imagined myself writing about come
the start of the week. But one incident ...

Eleven 10s is a brand new football website, brought to you by Pelé Sports: Eleven 10s is a website

UPDATE: Guys, this is real. No official confirmation from the team, but...look, you'll
have to trust me. It's real.
By now I'm sure you've all read the big news. The Boston Globe reports that Jay Heaps is set to
be named the next New England Revolution head coach.

Most of the day's action is either wrapped up, currently underway, or about to get going, so we
can gradually shift the focus back to Liverpool for the time being, as there's a few pieces of news
worth mentioning ahead of the weekend. Unfortunately nothing about Steven Gerrard's groin, but at
this point most of you can just rely on your imagination for your daily fix.
There's only one big game left on the domestic calendar and two friendlies scheduled on the
international front as we head towards winter. This month''s State of the States focuses on the MLS
playoffs, the dampening of Klinsmania, and the coming expansion of the US top flight.
MLS Playoffs - The final is set.
After the West Brom victory last week, I posted an article arguing that the quality of Liverpool's
second half performance had been wildly exaggerated. The gross hyperbole coming from fans, pundits
and ex-players after the game was laughable, and just served to deflect attention away from the
real issues, which were exposed again today by an outstanding Swansea team who, quite frankly, gave
Liverpool a footballing lesson on their own ground.

Granted, we're only seeing dribs and drabs, but it seems like Joe Cole is doing alright for
himself over in Northern France indeed, the Cockney sparra managed to rack up his second goal in
Lille colours during their 3-1 victory over Lyon on Sunday evening, sliding in to score and
celebrating by hoisting a conveniently placed Union Jack.
In a little under an hour we take on the impressive Valencia and this is no easy game by any
stretch of the imagination!. Valencia are doing well in La Liga and will want to make an impression
in this one so Chelsea need to be at their very best to first of all cope with the Spaniards, then
to get hold of possession and start to dictate play.
Sometimes I let my imagination get the best of me, and today is no exception. Perusing through
pictures of the Azzurri, I wondered what various players would say about what it means to them to
play for Italy. So without further ado, here is what they... I mean my imagination... [read

to keep your imagination working until this happens again. Image: Paolo Bruno/Getty Images.
AS Roma played Siena in Serie A last night. This was rather inconvenient for us, as we run our
Midweek Results post on a Thursday but we've overcome our disappointment to bring you the highs and
lows of the game.
Yesterday I rediscovered a valuable element of the art of watching football. It's absent for a
good reason when Spurs play it's a serious business as far as I'm concerned and I'm totally
absorbed. Wouldn't have it any other way, that complete commitment is the source of the passion,
but it can be draining and debilitating sometimes.
Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson claims that greedy, disloyal, diving thug Wayne Rooney has
similarities to the Brazilian maestro Pelé. That may be true in the Twilight Zone, but in reality,
Rooney is not fit to lace Pelé's boots.
In what must have been a fit of drunken fantasy, Ferguson observed:
"Look at Pelé.
England manager, Fabio Capello, has today sung the praises of Manchester United winger, Ashley
Young.
After some great form for England, scoring and assisting goals, Capello has hailed the impact
moving from Aston Villa to United has had on his performances.
"The pressure Young has to face in every game is big so it is normal when he plays for
England.
Brazil vs Ghana was a thrilling clash of cultures and philosophies just a shame none of
it was on the pitch
If I were to describe the difference between a football match in the UK and a baseball or ice
hockey game in the United States, the word I'd use is ‘energy.

Granted, this one's for borderline-hardcore football boot aficionados, but to those who may be
interested, those dirty flirts over at Adidas have titillated our imagination emerging from the
undergrowth, tugging on our sleeve and whispering in our ear that the gaudy boots that Lionel Messi
wore against Nigeria on Monday were in fact 'intelligent' and that they contained a 'super-secret
micro chip' before disappearing again into the night.
I think it's fair to say that a fair few people on here who comment are becoming frustrated with
the selection of the team or should I say certain players week in, week out. They feel as though
these players are being selected based on who they are within the squad rather than their current
form. All I say in response to that is that we have only played three games so far, have made new
signings and the future looks alot brighter than it did a few weeks ago.
The Carling Cup is not the most glamorous cup competition in the world but it is a great
opportunity for some so called 'smaller' Premier League teams to have success and get into
Europe.
For years there has been some discussion about the merits of the Carling Cup, with some managers
putting out under strength sides, as they see the competition as a burden, have disrespected it to
a fair degree.
Don't Buy The Sun – the concert
Impressive line-up for the 24th September gig ONE campaign that always unites supporters of both
of Merseyside's Premier League clubs is a campaign that has been going for 22 years and remains as
strong now as it was the day it began.
As Martin Kelner so eloquently put it in the Guardian:
Britain's great gift to the world is undoubtedly sarcasm – that, and Marmite – so
congratulations to Chelsea's new coach, André Villas-Boas on picking up the lingua franca so
quickly ...
Below is Villas-Boas' post-Norwich interview.
The legend of Catenaccio is one the most enduring legacies of Calcio. Wildly successful, it has
become almost synonymous with Italian Football in certain people's minds. Unfortunately, it has
also been miscast as the Ultimate Evil, the monument to Anti-Football so as to speak by certain
sections of the media.
My favorite type of goals are not usually the stunning ones, but the skillful ones, especially with
high imagination and vision or a combination of foot and mind skills,
This goal from Sao Paulo got my attention a lot. If it was a normal player, he would kicked it so
hard, and the keeper saved it, then he curse his luck
This goal from unknown league or game is wonderful great combination of imagination and skills
I think Ronaldinho in Brazil is now reaching the phase where he plays for the fun and joy of the
game and not for money.
I have been a soccer fan for many years. Since half of my family is English and lives in
England, I have always been an England supporter and a supporter of Tottenham Hotspur (somewhat
local team) and Reading (local team). A couple of years ago a friend suggested I should give MLS a
chance.
*Soccer in insignificant compared to the misery inflicted by earthquakes and other natural
disasters. But the power of sport is its ability to inspire, uplift and unite as the Japanese well
know in the wake of their magnificent World Cup win. I'll have more on the tournament in Tuesday's
column.
*How much did this tournament capture the public's imagination?
I have to admit for the first time in years i am giddy at the prospects of a Roma season. And
admittedly it has more to do with manager then the owner. Despite understanding it all starts at
the top. I am so intrigued to see how Roma play stylistically, how they adjust to stress tactically
and then how the players react and respond.
Just a quick take on the big game this weekend. The US Women will take the field on Sunday
with a chance to become World Cup champions. The Final will kick off at 2:45 on Sunday and
promises to draw a significant audience that could rival the 1999 USA/China match. The game will
be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN3.
From some perspectives (including that of players on the field), it looks like France outplayed the
USWNT in the World Cup semifinal. But France lost.It has been said, too, of France's game against
England, that they dominated possession, played the better game. But they only won on penalties.
Many felt that Brazil played a better game against the US in the Olympics, some might say they
played a better game (in a few ways at least) than the USWNT last week – but Brazil lost the
Olympic and the World Cup matches.
You know something remarkable happened when for the second time in a month, national sports talk
radio was talking about soccer for the second time in a month.
The occasion was the Women's World Cup and the USA's remarkable come from behind victory over
Brazil on Sunday. Down 2-1, and with almost the last kick of the game, Amy Wamback popped up to
score the equalizer for the U.
Some goals might not been scored by great players or famous teams, but it involves a great play
with a lot of imaginations. Here are some stunning goals, with so much creativity and imagination
that caught my attention:
The first is from the US
The second is a recent one for Eric Hassli, a French player who plays Vancouver Whitecaps FC in
Canada
And this is a spectacular goal from Crespo vs.

Good morning to you.
It's Friday again. That means we've gone through another week without any of the following
things happening:
- Signing a new player
- Signing more than one new player
- Selling a player who has said they want to leave the club but for whom nobody has bid
- Selling a player we wouldn't mind keeping but who is being a dick so we might as well sell
him
- Selling a player we definitely don't want to sell
You'll notice how I finished on a positive note there.
