Acura just released the extended version of their Super Bowl ad featuring the highly anticipated
NSX, six days before the :60 TV spot will air in the third quarter of the big game.
The video depicts the over-the-top antics of comedians and famous car collectors Jerry Seinfeld
and Jay Leno as they bid to be the first in line to take delivery on the first Acura NSX
supercar.
It wasn't pretty. Hell, it was downright hideous. But it's a win, one that puts us in the
fifth-round draw. Hey, that's good enough for this guy.
A united front
I guess we should have expected this. All the hype, all the controversy it simply overstated
what was bound to be on display at Loftus Road on Saturday.
Fulham departs the Cottage and heads south to Goodison to face David Moyes bunch of not so merry
men.
The so-called #LDvsCD battle. Donovan vs. Dempsey.
TSG is not buying the hype, but nice to watch one game in England instead of two to see the US's
top field players....and leading striker Tim Howard.
Poland's 58,000 seat chocolate national stadium. That's right.
If you're hungry, look away. Poland's new national stadium in Warsaw will host the opening match
of EURO 2012 (only 134 days away!), along with two other group stage matches, a quarterfinal, and a
semifinal.
On the eve of one of the more important matches of the season for Real Madrid, manager Jose
Mourinho is making headlines again for all the wrong reasons.
According to reports out of Spain, Mourinho is letting it be known that he wants out of Madrid
at the end of this season, which would be two years into his four-year contract with the club.
Bale living up to the hype for Tottenham - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
According to Castrol EDGE Performance analysis, Gareth Bale has been one of the Premier League's
best performers this season, with the Welsh winger both scoring and creating regularly for his
high-flying Tottenham side.
Fox Soccer has been promoting this Sunday Premier League games as "Epic Sunday,'' for once this is
not over hype. The doubleheader of Manchester City vs. Spurs and Manchester United vs. Arsenal will
go a long way toward telling us who will be lifting the trophy in May.
A City win in the early game and a Arsenal win in the late game could all but end the title race.
Real Madrid - Barcelona 4pm - GolTV/ESPN Deportes It's the Copa del Rey version of El Clasico, and
it's on two channels. Considering we're talking about a Real Madrid - Barca match-up on a Wednesday
in January, feel free to hype this one as much as you want. We'll ignore that it's the first in a
two-leg quarterfinal series and we get to do this all over again next week.
In a much anticipated affair, the Los Angeles Clippers hosted the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.
The game lived up to the hype. In an overtime battle, the Clippers escaped with a 95-89
victory.
Chris Paul, who was traded to the Clippers in the offseason, had perhaps his best game of the
season: 27 points, 11 assists, six rebounds and three blocks.
Dave's note: Abbott will be joining the Sounder at Heart crew with a nearly
weekly column. His FanPosts opened our eyes to the idea of adding someone with a
different voice who could provide regular columns about roster construction, lineup management and
other stuff.
There has been plenty of hype surrounding Tom Cleverley over the past year or two which reached
a climax this summer once Paul Scholes announced his retirement. Cleverley was tipped by plenty to
be the successor to one of the most gifted midfielders this country has ever seen.
Fortunately for the lad, and for the team, Cleverley dealt with the expectation well, and
confirmed his place in the starting XI at the start of the season.

Another day, another police identity parade
On loan from Arsenal, where he struggled to live up to the (self-inflated) hype surrounding his
ability, Nicklas Bendtner has been nothing more than average for Sunderland so far this season.
Consider this a 'half season review', but with one game added on. After a terrible start,
followed by an excellent run, followed by a topsy turvy Christmas period, I feel we now have a good
idea of how the season is going to go.
When we beat QPR and Chelsea lost at home to Villa, we leapfrogged them into 4th place.

Norwich City 0-2 Tottenham Hotspur Premier League 27th December 2011
It's fair to say that Gareth Bale, for the last couple of seasons, has been the subject of more
hype and superlatives than most footballers in the Premier League.
Remember how yesterday we wrote about our friend that we're aiming to initiate into the cult of
football? (No? Read this real quick.)
Well, we emailed that link to him not only did he read the post, when we asked if he clicked
through and read the three links we posted (one each for Messi, Balotelli, Dempsey) he replied
via email (and gave us permission to blockquote):
i just read them all.

jemanden, der gerade einen kleinen Smoothie zu sich nimmt. Wenn ihr wie ich dieses Zeug noch nicht
bewußt getrunken habt, werdet ihr den Hype, der von vielen um dieses Getränkt gemacht wird, nicht
verstehen.

make-up, tomorrow is the World Club Cup final between Santos and Barcelona. With
all that hype surrounding Neymar in recent days (oh come on, you guys are late to

MirrorFootball has teamed up with some of the blogosphere's best new writers to bring you even

www.spanishfootball.info's David Cartlidge with his take on the week's big issues in Spain.
No stats? Good luck.
For those not aware, the Hermann Trophy is soccer's equivalent to the Heismann.
So I'm scanning the blogs out there, and I came across the following comments on this post
concerning the 15 semifinalists for the award.

12 forwards and 2 mids in that list.

Ricardo Quaresma. He's just one of those players isn't he? A
never-quite-living-up-to-the-hype/ego, cripplingly inconsistent walking, talking Youtube
highlights reel of a footballer whose stats will always be slightly too good on FIFA/Pro
Evo/Football Manager, etc for some reason.

Does anyone ever really pay much attention draft picks after the first round? Maybe in the NFL
where there is real depth from a wealth of college talent and combine hype. But in the MLS
SuperDraft? Does anyone after the first dozen or so selections really matter?

The pre-match hype was all about squad rotation. Who of those gracing the benches of these deep
squads was going to make their rare first team appearance tonight? For Manchester City, players
like Nigel de Jong, Kolo Toure, and Adam Johnson were looking for a rare place in the side. For
Arsenal, the troop of [.
There was an interesting article this morning on Soccernet about Robin Van Persie being in the
"injury red zone". Hyperbole aside, it raises the point that Arsenal have had the luxury of
playing Van Persie in every league match so far (starting 12 of 13) but will have to manage his
workload a little more conservatively or risk a decrease in performance or potential injury.
Amare Stoudemire has been outspoken about his supposed Jewish roots. He even traveled to Israel
to learn more about his heritage. Now there are rumors that Amare Stoudemire is thinking about
starting a Hebrew school.
At Amare Stoudemire's Hebrew school, the teaching would focus on the Hebrew language and other
aspects of the history of the Jewish people.
Former Barcelona and AC Milan star Ronaldinho who now plays for Brazilian club Flamengo has not
been paid for the last 4 months and according to his brother who also doubles up as his agent,
Gaucho is starting to lose patience with the club.
It is known the exact amount Dinho is paid every week, but it is believed to be in the region of
£95,000.
You have to love Saturday mornings. Having a lie in, cooking a fry up, sticking on the telly and
getting amongst all the hype and build up of the next round of games in the Premiership and
Football League - then off on the train, to the pub for a few with your mates and then scuttling to
the ground to watch your beloved local team get a good stuffing by some super rich oil baron owned
team that puts your first 11 to shame.
The Philadelphia Union released their new home and away jerseys yesterday, giving fans the
opportunity to purchase new pieces of team merchandise ahead of this year's holiday shopping
season. In doing so, the Union bypassed the "92012" Facebook likes trigger for releasing visuals of
the jersey (the team's account is currently at 87,555 likes).
With six rounds completed in this A-League season, things do not seem to be going as smoothly as we
thought they would. All the glitz and glamour of the arrival of Harry Kewell, and pre season hype
about our embarrassment of riches up front hasn't exactly come to fruition. The report card isn't
exactly glowing

Lebanon achieve the impossible Lebanon Daily Star.
As a sidebar to all of the hype surrounding the Euro2012 play off qualifiers this past week, I
noticed a great story emerging out of the Middle East which deserves more than a mention. Asian
power South Korea were beaten 2-1 in Beirut by Lebanon who rank 112 places below them in the FIFA
rankings which in any region is a huge accomplishment.
Idolatry is a sickness in modern football; nowadays, players are idolised and deified to such an
extent that they assume godlike status in the minds of some fans, and that is never healthy. Luis
Suarez is the latest Liverpool player to be put on a pedestal, and former Anfield defender Gary
Gillespie has called for a sensible approach to the inevitable hype.

the pre-match hype, Denmark and Sweden have obviously got a big history + rivalry both from being
from Scandinavia. Nicklas Bendtner had hit 3 goals and an assist in his last 3 games for Denmark,
so he was on fire going into tonight's game.
