Even though TSG 1899 Hoffenheim was unceremoniously dumped out of the DFB Pokal quarterfinals by
second-tier Greuther Furth on Wednesday, the match carried significance for one American.
U.S. Under-23 winger Joe Gyau, made his first-team debut for Hoffenheim, entering as an
80th-minute substitute for U.
"Not good enough."
Three words used often by football fans to describe aspects of the club they support. They're
used in relation to certain players, performances, the manager, the board, the price of a pint and
a pie, how their club handles various communications, pretty much anything they've got the hump
with for one reason or another.
When Sigi Schmid said Saturday, "there are a couple guys I'm concerned about a little bit that I
don't think came back as fit as I would have liked," some alarm bells went off in with in the
Seattle Sounders fanbase. The question asked concerned how the team needed to change training in
light of the CONCACAF Champions League series against Santos Laguna that starts a week and a half
prior to League play.

Footballers don't half have it hard (nudge, nudge). Kevin-Prince Boateng has had an
injury-blighted season in Serie A so far, making only 11 starts to date, and is currently a doubt
for AC Milan's Champions League tie with Arsenal next Tuesday after suffering a thigh strain last
week.
Welcome back, Andrew Bynum. The center for the Los Angeles Lakers took a break from racking up
traffic tickets and got back to playing basketball. In his first game back from suspension, Andrew
Bynum was dominant scoring 29 points, pulling down 13 rebounds and blocking two shots.
With Andrew Bynum powerful in the middle, the Lakers beat the Denver Nuggets by a final score of
92-89.
The Tarheels of North Carolina finally got over the hump and won the NCAA National Title Sunday

"Get in there my son, what a fackin' laaaaaad!"
He may we be having a fairly decent (though largely unheralded) season, but Bolton striker Ivan
Klasnic is staring down the barrel of a D.I.V.O.R.C.E after his wife flew in from Germany and made
a surprise to his flat in Manchester only to discover a wardrobe full of other women's clothes
and make-up, along with several 'compromising' photographs.

You always know you've hit the midweek hump when Wham puns are acceptable post titles. Luckily
though, Arsenal's Adorkable babies were released from their playpen last night for the club's
Carling Cup fixture vs.
Ah, sleep. That's the stuff.
We start this morning with Arsene Wenger saying pretty much what I said yesterday. There is
nothing more important than the next game. At his press conference yesterday, he said:
What we are hopeful for and what we can achieve is to win our next game.
Missouri State Bears, Heath Melugin (2012)
Congratulations to the Bears on their great win at home last night. Wish I didn't have to leave
Springfield for them to get over that hump!
The historic win can be viewed on Mediacom, channel 22 on Friday, October 14 at 7 p.m., Sunday,

Pre-season sacrifices We all know that you supposedly have to make sacrifices in order to make the
grade as a professional footballer, but this might be taking things a bit too far. Fans of
second-tier Turkish side Karsiyaka have got the hump at being forced to celebrate their centenary
outside the Super Lig, so they [.

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. -- The Toyota Park scoreboard was not a mirage.
The Chicago Fire finally found the win column for the first time in more than two months as they
defeated Toronto FC, 2-0, on Sunday in front of 12,020 at Toyota Park.

WASHINGTON -- The team that finally got over the hump earned their moment with the leader of the
free world.
Clad in gray suits, the Colorado Rapids were honored in the East Room of the White House by
President Barack Obama Tuesday afternoon for winning the 2010 MLS Cup a little more than seven
months ago at BMO Field in Toronto.

At a time when Isiah Thomas is referenced more for his lack of coaching and management success than
for his brilliance on the basketball court as a player, a story offers a lesson from Thomas into
being a part of a championship team.
Good morning from a sunny, warm and extremely *boilky* Dublin.
The media lockdown was well and truly ended yesterday and the manager came out fighting. Having
watched his press conference and then read the transcript of his post-press conference chat with
the newspaper boys the word that sticks out for me is 'fight'.
No I am not talking about any sulking Gooners either because we have every right to have the
hump!
I wet my knickers with laughter though after reading that Alex Ferguson was 'seething' after
Manchester United's hiding at Anfield earlier.
Fair enough, United were beaten. I suppose that would make him slightly annoyed.
If I still have the hump of a stegosaurus from the very suggestion that the current QPR side rank
alongside the best this league has seen, then I'll confess it, but that raptor of a Ranger Adel
Taarabt apart, the employers of those brontosauri Peter Ramage and Clint Hill still don't convince
me as I'll happily stand by my prehistoric banter that had Nottingham Forest as the team to finish
in
Um, yeah. I'm not sure how to explain this video. As you can see, Rashard Mendenhall decided to
hump Ben Roethlisberger in the closing moments of the Pittsburgh Steelers victory over the New York
Jets. Obviously, advancing to the Super Bowl is exciting although, one would imagine there are
better ways to celebrate the excitement than humping your quarterback on national television.
Nouveau Rich, noisy neighbours, financial dopers. Call them what you
will, there is no ignoring the threat that Manchester City are now
posing to the established elite of the Premier League. Whilst Arsenal
have played the financial tournament, going for glory supported only
by a shoe string budget, City have cared little how many enemies they
have garnered whilst compiling a powerful and elite squad of stars
that finally looks capable of joining very the best at the big table.
