It has, as many of you will already be aware, been a long few months for the supporters of
Kettering Town Football Club. During this period, their club has been uprooted to the former home
of their defunct former local rivals, they have been promised the earth and have seen only the
delivery of unpaid bills and an uphill battle to avoid relegation from the Blue Square Bet
Premier.
Sunday's match turned up a lot of heroes and villains for both teams. The match itself went like
most people had predicted; a close encounter that could have gone either way... that is until 75
minutes into the game, when what can only be considered a game changing event occurred. But I'll
get to that later.
Old head's experience to lead is crucial to the cause
The papers are going crazy with this fixture and all the focus is on Arsenal and how the mighty
have fallen. How this is no longer the plum tie of the Premier League season (somehow, I think the
numbers tells a different story), why there's no pizza or pastries being thrown at each other and
why there's no more fights between the two sets of players.
Oh dear.
Yakubu sent off in the first half, Samba missing. What more could we ask for?
Made a right horlicks of this one. Blackburn are a half-decent side in the middle of a horrible
season but we're good enough to win in these circumstances. Should have done, comfortably.
Blackburn scored the first with a Pedersen free-kick just on half-time, then the second from
Dunn just after the break.
Lazio welcome Atalanta to the Eternal City hoping that last week's humiliation at Siena was a freak
performance. Down to 10-men after the sending-off of first choice ‘keeper Albano Bizzarri's , the
Biancocelesti were thrashed 4-0 by the relegation-threatened Robur. It was nothing less than they
deserved.
This week we saw 31 goals, four red cards and no draws for an exciting return to Serie A action
this past weekend. Cagliari and Bologna upset higher-ranked opposition, Inter's revival continued
with a 5-0 hammering of Parma and Milan cruised through surprise package Atalanta, but nothing
caught the eye like Siena's humiliation of Lazio.
Why Capello's reputation rests on the next six months
Redemption time. Or simply confirmation that he was the most expensive failed mercenary ever.
For Fabio Capello, the judgement will be made by July 1, stark and clear-cut. The stain of
Bloemfontein, of a World Cup campaign that descended into chaos, farce and ultimately humiliation,
still lies over Capello's reputation.
It is not uncommon for teams to lose their composure when adversity strikes in a match. Whether it
be conceding a goal at an inappropriate time in the match, an injury or a player being sent
off.
The truly special teams are able to keep cool and stay in the moment when adversity arrives, and
Barcelona's performance versus Real Madrid last week was a clear illustration of why they are the
gold standard in world football.
In yet more humiliation for the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), Rahmad Darmawan has stepped
down as coach of the Under 23 team. He says the reason is because the team failed to win the SEA
Games; they were beaten by Malaysia on penalties in the final.
However the PSSI had said that the national team could only call on players who played in the
'official' Indonesia Premier League, a continuation of the failed LPI last season which has failed
to attract the best clubs and players.
There is no doubt that every Barcelona and Real Madrid fan is still reeling under the effect of
the brilliant El Cklasico night at the Bernebeu on Saturday. Can't blame anyone as it usually takes
more than a day atleast to get over these. The reactions from both Camp to the result was very much
interesting.
Six years ago to the day since Manchester United last failed to get out of their Champions
League group, the club suffered a frustrating defeat at the hands of FC Basel to finish 3rd in the
group tonight. A draw would have been enough to see United through but despite dominating the game,
they couldn't score more than one, after going 2-0 down.
It sounds crazy, but could a loan spell at Liverpool be the perfect tonic for
Torres?
It seems almost impossible to be suggesting this, but I'm beginning to feel sorry for Fernando
Torres. There, I've said it, got it out in the open, off my chest, to rank along with all those
other guilty secrets like a fondness for ELO and a teenage crush on the Shake 'n' Vac lady.
The wait is over and the four groups have been unveiled for this coming summer's Euro 2012 event
in Poland and Ukraine.
Friday's draw, hosted by the latter nation, saw Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal placed together
with joint-favorites Germany and Netherlands in Group B, which has emerged as the clear 'group of
death'.
After several disappointing results, finally Chelsea's fans have something to cheer about after
their team picked up a pretty convincing 3-0 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the
league.
The Blues' summer singing, Juan Mata, became the team's main influence in the game as he bagged
two assist and a goal which helped regaining some confidence for Andre Villas-Boas' side after
three straight defeats.
Why Wembley fans must not boo young Lions against Spain
Newcastle have found their Moyes, but Ashley won't hold onto him Why Stoke's humiliation gave me
the giggles This week could see the fulfillment of a lifetime's ambition for four young
Englishman. But before Daniel Sturridge, Kyle Walker and Jack Rodwell get too carried away with the
prospect of making their international debuts against Spain or Sweden, and Danny Welbeck on
starting his first England game, they should speak to four others who stood in their shoes a year
ago.
Newcastle have found their Moyes, but Ashley won't hold onto him
Why Wembley fans must not boo young Lions against Spain Why Stoke's humiliation gave me the
giggles Mike Ashley's grin must by be almost as wide as his waist. Despite the stick he took for
letting Joey Barton and Kevin Nolan go, and refusing to spend the Andy Carroll cash, Newcastle have
made an incredible start to the season, which must lead him to believe he's now a footballing
genius.
Why Stoke's humiliation gave me the giggles
Why Wembley fans must not boo young Lions against Spain Newcastle have found their Moyes, but
Ashley won't hold onto him Stoke's 5-0 trouncing by Bolton, which reversed the scoreline from
last year's FA Cup semi-final, must have left their fans feeling desolate.
Oh Dear! Twiggster's Birthday double header hopes turned into a Halloween Horror Show, this
week!
Just one point from six and a massive blow to our promotion hopes. Ghoulish goalkeeping saw
Leeds limp out of the play-off places after hoovering humiliation at home! Gruesome game
reviews
and post games Grayson grovelling, means this show isn't very happy.
Monk out to banish Reds demons
Swansea captain Garry Monk has a score to settle at Liverpool after suffering the biggest
humiliation of his career on Merseyside.

6 games, 6 wins. 20 goals scored, 1 conceded. That was the month of October for Real, very
probably the best European team right now.
They beat Lyon in Bernabeu 4-0 two weeks ago, and we haven't changed that much since then:
Lisandro is still missing, as are Grenier and Pied.
John Cross' Premier League previews and predictions (Week 10)
No Simon Bird this week, but we've got a substitute most Premier League managers would kill for.
So without further ado, here's the mighty John Cross with his previews and predictions for the
weekend... *** Saturday, October 29 (all kick-offs 3.
I start off my saying thank you very much to Manchester City for hammering the daylights out of us
at Old Trafford. Not since the humiliation we took at the hands of Liverpool in 2009 did we get
to...

Having just experienced one of his greatest day as a Manchester City manager after successfully
demolishing, Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford, didn't make Roberto Mancini gets over
confidence with his team's chance in winning the league this season.
The Italian modestly stated that his team's victory at the moment still can't confirm anything,
adding that there are four or five teams who could win the league.
There's no doubting Arsenal's 8-2 thrashing at the hands of Man United was humiliating, all be
it against an Arsenal B team, but getting beat 6-1 at home by your closest rivals is surely
worse.
Both results were coming, but which is actually more embarrassing?
What result is more Humiliating, 8-2 or a 6-1 home defeat to your rivals?
Well, I'm speechless to think up even an introduction. From beating Arsenal 8-2 to getting run
over 6-1 by City how things change. So let us just fast forward to the five things I observed from
the humiliation this evening. Apologies in case you find your knees jerking after reading this.
1.
Humiliation happened at Old Trafford as 10 men Manchester United were shockingly demolished by
their city rival, Manchester City 6-1, marking Sir Alex Ferguosn's worse home defeat in his United
career.
Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko both grabbed a brace in the match, while the other goals were
scored by Sergio Aguero and David Silva, giving a big boost for Man City's campaign in attempting
to win the Premier League this season.
The SEA Games is only an Under 23 competition. In Europe it may get a few column inches but in this
part of the world it is seen as far more important than the World Cup. The reason? Countries stand
mare chance of achieving something among their local rivals. Malaysia winning the last one was the
springboard to success in the SEA Games big brother, the ASEAN Cup.
Sadism, humiliation and being propositioned on Burgess Hill High Street
Matt Lawrence has played for seven league clubs including Fulham, Crystal Palace and Millwall,
for whom he appeared in the 2004 FA Cup final during his 16-year career. Now with League Two
Gillingham, his diary will appear on MirrorFootball every Monday.
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has stressed the imminent return of captain Steven Gerrard will
not detract from the work which will have to be done in the wake of their White Hart Lane
humiliation.
Even before the Reds had Charlie Adam and Martin Skrtel sent off in Sunday's 4-0 defeat it was
apparent they were nowhere near the level Tottenham were playing at.
Kenny Dalglish considers Steven Gerrard for Brighton
Kenny Dalglish will not rush Steven Gerrard back in response to Liverpool's humiliation at
Tottenham. The Reds skipper been sidelined with a groin injury since March.

I was ruminating on Twitter last night about the Scottish Football Blog approaching twin
milestones.
The blog is closing in on 1000 posts and its fifth birthday.
How to celebrate? The idea of Jimmy Boco appearing at a blog testimonial did appeal. But I'm fatter
than Paul Kane and worse at football than Joe Tortolano so the opportunity for humiliation seems
too great.
By Chris Wright
It's worth pointing out up top that he's already denied it, but the Sun are claiming this
morning that Man City chief exec Garry Cook has been reported to the FA after being accused of
inadvertently sending a frankly appalling email to Nedum Onouha's cancer-suffering mother.
Paul Gardner writes about the trials and tribulations of Arsene Wenger.
Is it OK to feel sorry for Arsene Wenger? That 8-2 rout by ManU was a humiliation that he
surely did not deserve, a sad, sad moment in the history of Arsenal, a cruel game that I found it
almost agonizing to watch.
