We made it, Kickettes. We all survived the week without getting sacked, arrested, or falling
over in public.
Pats on everyone's backs.
GOOD WEEK
G'day mate: Australian personalities including Hugh Jackman, Elle McPherson and
Everton's Tim Cahill pressed the flesh with the Queen at a special Buckingham Palace reception on
Thursday.

Jackman rates Grant Holt's start to the season out of 10
Aussie superstar Hugh Jackman is the latest big cheese from the world of entertainment to flirt
with part-ownership of an English football club, thus following in the footsteps of Jay-Z (Arsenal)
and 50 Cent (Accrington Stanley).
Year two for the Philadelphia Union has brought along on-the-field success, but also
off-the-field success as well. Various celebrities have visited PPL Park so far this season, almost
all of whom have stopped by the River End at some point during their trips to watch the Union
play.
Earlier in the season saw United States Men's National Team (USMNT) midfielder, Stuart Holden,
actually come into the River End and play the drums, plus cheer alongside the Sons of Ben.
Wednesday was a big day for celebrity loving Philadelphia Union fans.
Stuart Holden, an American intentional and Bolton Wanderers midfielder, came to the game and
endeared himself to the Sons of Ben by joining them in supporting the Union from the River End for
five minutes. Soon after Holden's visit to the River End was one by Hugh Jackman.
Philadelphia Union v. Sporting KC | Section133 : The IllegitimateS
What a BIZARRE match! This game had EVERYTHING... everything, but a goal for the Philadelphia
Union. We had Union Supporters giving love to Revolution Supporters with a minute of silence at the
12th minute. We had "SUPPORT THE FORT" goal kick chants.
So yeah, Hugh Jackman was rocking with the S.O.B's in the River End last night. Depending on what
kind of movies you like this was either the hottest thing to hit Chester since The Cat Daddy or the
worst thing to hit Chester since Kreayshawn's single dropped. Either way this waaaaaay better than
Australia.
When Stuart Holden announced on Twitter that he would come to a Philadelphia Union game, during
his time rehabilitating an injury in Wilmington, Delaware, no one expected him to show up and stick
around the River End. That's exactly what Holden did, however.
During an almost five minute visit with the Sons of Ben, Holden interacted more than most
celebrities would be allowed to when among fans.
Call it an episode of Chester Shore.
Shots shots shots-shots-shots. But not much game.
Breaking down the defense
The Union huffed and puffed (and an appearance by Hugh Jackman nearly blew the house down), but
Jimmy Nielsen and shooting display worthy of a Die Hard villain left Philadelphia with a single
point from two matches against inferior competition.

The Philadelphia Union had a golden opportunity for three points Wednesday against the
last-place team in the MLS Eastern Conference at home, and did everything it could to get those
three points, except score a goal.
Consequently, no three points.
This has nothing to do with soccer. I wrote this rant last weekend and posted on my facebook page.
Some readers asked that I post it here. I'll be back to soccer stories as soon as I put the
manuscript I'm finishing in the mail!
Anne Hathaway's performance as an Oscars co-host was heroic.
