The New England Revolution shocked the Houston Dynamo 2-0 in Houston last night. Diego Fagundez put the Revs in front early in the second half before an own-goal from Ricardo Clark in the 84th minute sealed the home team's fate.
The result gives Houston (6-4-2)back-to-back home losses for the first time since losing three in a row in 2010 and leaves them on 20 points while New England (3-4-4)now have 13 on the season.
A day after hearing that defender Matt Besler and midfielder Graham Zusi would be joining the U.S. Men's National Team, Sporting Kansas City manager Peter Vermes found out he'd be without two additional players for a three week stretch in the middle of the season.

The Portland Timbers and FC Dallas have emerged as the class of the Western Conference and it could be some time before teams catch them at the top of the West standings.
Both Dallas and the Timbers are riding nine-match unbeaten streaks, with their 1-1 draw last Wednesday providing a glimpse of what could be the battle for the top spot in the West all season long.
In a match marked by physical play all night long, it shouldn't be a surprise that arguably the league's most physical defender scored the game-winning goal.
Aurelien Collin overcame an early yellow card to play the entire match and score the game winner in the second half, as Sporting Kansas City downed the Houston Dynamo, 1-0, on Sunday night at BBVA Compass Stadium.
Sporting Kansas City returns to the house of horrors known as BBVA Compass Stadium to take on rival Houston Dynamo in a clash of Eastern Conference powers.
Today's MLS schedule features two games, including the weekend's most anticipated clash, between Sporting KC and the Dynamo.
Week 11 continues apace after the biggest slate of midweek matches so far this season. It all starts with the Chicago Fire playing host to the Philadelphia Union at 1:30 on NBC Sports Network. The weekend will wrap up Sunday night at 8:00, when you should absolutely take advantage of this weekend's free trial of MLS Live to watch the two-time defending Eastern Conference playoff champion Houston Dynamo host the two-time defending Eastern Conference regular season champion Sporting Kansas City.
For all the success Sporting Kansas City have had over the past two years, the Houston Dynamo have been the one riddle the club can't solve.
After being ousted come playoff time by Houston two seasons in a row, Kansas City will travel to BBVA Compass Stadium on Sunday and attempt to get a result against a Dynamo side that, in addition to riding a 36-game home unbeaten streak, just wrapped a 2-0 road trip.
Editor's note: Each week, the Soccer Perspectives MLS Expert Panel will rank Major League Soccer's 19 teams from best to worst. The Houston Dynamo went on the road and defeated the LA Galaxy. That win was enough to move them [...]
The Houston Dynamo's ability to shut down the Los Angeles Galaxy's dangerous attack not only helped them earn SBI MLS Team of the Week honors, it helped two defenders earn recognition for their part in the unlikely shutout.
For the crowded top of the Eastern Conference table, which features a four-way tie for first, a packed slate of midweek games should provide some of clarity to the muddled race.
All four first-place teams are in action Wednesday night, with two of them — the New York Red Bulls and Montreal Impact — going head to head.
Currently bottom of the table and mired in a five game losing streak with seeming nothing but misery in sight, DC United will have to find something special as they face one of their toughest conference foes in the high flying Houston Dynamo who are off to their best start ever and tied for the [...]
D.C. United's beleaguered attack is about to get a substantial lift out wide.
Nick DeLeon (hamstring) will make the game-day roster Wednesday against the Houston Dynamo, coach Ben Olsen confirmed Tuesday, while fellow winger Chris Pontius (groin) said he will make his return by Saturday's trip to face FC Dallas.
The Los Angeles Galaxy looked poised for a long run atop the SBI MLS Power Rankings, but the Houston Dynamo stepped up to remind us that we can never take results for granted. Especially when we are talking about returning MLS Cup finalists.
The Dynamo recorded their first road win since last summer, and their first road win vs.
The Houston Dynamo won their first road match of the season on Sunday night, defeating the Los Angeles Galaxy, 1-0, at the Home Depot Center, earning them SBI MLS Team of the Week honors.
The Dynamo were without captain Brad Davis due to a one-match suspension for a red card but the visitors didn't miss him too badly as they shut down Landon Donovan and the Galaxy.
The Houston Dynamo's recent experience at the Home Depot Center, particularly when they have faced the Los Angeles Galaxy, have not been a pleasant experiences for the Dynamo.
Houston had not beaten the Galaxy in Los Angeles since 2007, a span in which it has gone 0-6-1. The last two visits to Los Angeles though were the most painful for the Dynamo, as they finished asrunners up to the Galaxy in the 2011 and 2012 MLS Cup Finals, played at the Home Depot Center.
As usual, most of this weekend's MLS match-ups will be available to fans in the D.C. area only through pay services like MLS Live and MLS Direct Kick, but there are some games available on national teevee, too. Well, two of them, one each on Saturday and Sunday. So enjoy Arlo White while you still can on NBC Sports Network as the Columbus Crew host the New York Red Bulls this afternoon, and then tune into ESPN2 late, late tomorrow night for the tilt between the San Jose Earthquakes and the Houston Dynamo.
The Los Angeles Galaxy announced over their Twitter account that Robbie Rogers had joined the team in training on Tuesday.
The former U.S. international was practicing with a professional team for the first time since last February, when he simultaneously retired from the game and came out as gay.
Dynamo center back Jermaine Taylor, one of the team's most important players over the last two years, suffered a left shoulder injury in the eighth minute Saturday night against the New England Revolution.
Taylor suffered the injury after colliding with New England forward Dimitry Imbongo on a clean 50-50 challenge.
The Houston Dynamo have struggled on the road for a long time, and the task of trying to record their first road win since last July seemed extremely unlikely without Brad Davis and against the Los Angeles Galaxy on Sunday night.
The script didn't play out the way most would have expected.
Join the guys as they look back on United's past couple of losses and the upcoming match against Sporting KC. The boys also talk about recent United news and all things Black-and-Red.

And there it is. Jurgen Klinsmann going wide and expansive with his camp roster next week. The roster dominated by the return of golden boy Stu Holden and no place for Steve Cherundolo (or Carlos Bocanegra).
GOALKEEPERS (6) : Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Tally Hall (Houston Dynamo), Bill Hamid (D.
Happy Monday, ladies and gentlemen. We have the worst team in MLS and the playoffs are looking like a near impossibility if we don't make a couple of spectacular signings and make a couple of miracle trades. That's not happening, so sit back and just laugh when we concede for the rest of the season.
Sporting KC return to action again tomorrow against the Houston Dynamo. It'll be the 3rd game in just over a week for both teams. The two teams though have looked quite different over the past week. While Houston has looked quite good, taking 6 points on the road against LA and an admittedly poor DC United, KC took 3 points from two home games against Chivas USA and Seattle.
On a rainy night at RFK Stadium, D.C. United lost its fourth straight home match, and seventh overall, of the young 2013 season. While the crowd was expected to be small for the season's only Wednesday night game at home, it appeared only about half of the announced 10,100 fans actually showed up.
My mother always told me, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." But I was never very good at listening, and we need a recap, so here goes. On Wednesday night at RFK Stadium, D.C. United played a truly horrible game of soccer, which was fully reflected by the 4-0 scoreline in favor of the visiting Houston Dynamo.
Things going for D.C. United tonight: 1. We Win on Wednesdays. 2. The Dynamo are on short rest and long travel, and they're dealing with several injuries to players who would otherwise be under consideration for selection tonight. 3. Weird things happen when United and the Houston Dynamo meet at RFK Stadium with rain in the forecast.
After what I wish I could call a relaxing bye week (for me, not the players - they've got real work to do), Filibuster is back with an all new episode to get you ready for D.C. United's big double week. Of course, tomorrow night, United will host the Houston Dynamo in a thunderstorm, so we lead with our preview of that match, and some memories of another time the Black-and-Red hosted the Orange during a weather event.
Three things in life are certain: Death, taxes, and the Houston Dynamo. For D.C. United, at least, the Dynamo may be the scariest thing on that list. Since moving from San Jose - RIP Quakes 1.0 and your correct use of blue instead of black as your home color - Houston has been nothing but trouble for United.
I am worried about Chris Pontius' groin. One more injury takes it from freak injury status to recurring injury status, and a recurring muscle injury is not a good thing to have with a team's best player. And the way that Pontius has been playing so far this season, it is not unreasonable to think that the groin has been bothering him throughout this young season.
Wednesday night, D.C. United hosts the two-time defending Eastern Conference (Playoff) Champion Houston Dynamo at RFK Stadium. It will be the second meeting this season between two of the more decorated sides in MLS history - though the Dynamo have certainly had more recent success than the Black-and-Red.
Coming into last Sunday and the start of Sporting KC's 3 games in 8 days streak, I figured that taking 6 out of 9 points from the 3 games would have been acceptable. You had home games against the struggling Chivas and Seattle and a trip to Houston where the Dynamo are unbeaten in 36 games. The Chivas game went to plan with a 4-0 win.
As the Black-and-Red prepare to host one of the best teams in the MLS Eastern Conference, let's look back at the last time they met, in both teams' 2013 season opener.
Stoke City will face Houston Dynamo in their first match of their 2013 US summer tour, the club announced today.
The exhibition match between Stoke and Houston will be played on July 24, just two days after the Potters arrive Stateside from England. The match will be for the annualBBVA Compass Dynamo Charities Cup.
